I was told that Sunnis dont mourn martyrs but you say Sunni do. I have been to several Arab countries but not in Muharam days and I speak Arabic .

You please tell me tell me how Sunnis mourn this tragedy. It will be really knowledge for me. So far I know Sunnis either don't mourn or they fast and distribute sweets on this day.

I am really shocked to see that Sunni Muslims are not that much observing the Muharam and Ashura day/month as Shia Muslims do! Imam Husain was the grandson of the Prophet of both Sunnis and Shias but I dont see the zeal among Sunnis to commemorate this great tragedy of the history of Islam. Only Shia remember this day, mourn and express their religious sentiments while Sunnis almost remain almost silent or lukewarm.

Does it mean that Sunnis agree with what Yazid committed or their inertia on this matter has some other connotation?

We pray and make dua in our hearts, we dont need to make a show or prove anything to anyone but Allah, who are you to judge who mourns and who doesnt??

Muhammad PBUH was an example for us to follow his actions in situations, plenty of people passed away infront of him that were beloved to him and Allah, he never inflicted himself with self torture then why should we do something that he wouldnt do. We say 'to him we belong, to him we return' why should i damage myself and cause pain to my body.. and because i dont do that or come out on the streets marching screaming making a fool out of myself i automatically dont care or agree with the murderers.

Besides if these people exaggerate this day then why do they not exaggerate the day the Prophet PBUH was poisoned and killed?? why not the day Prophet PBUH's son died, why not the day the Prophets mother died infront of him??
