Clarification: the adulterers if un married get lashed. That is the Quranic part. Those who are married are stoned. That is the part not mentioned in there. The part about which Q pointed. However that is from Hadith. The Prophet carried this out.

Allah says in the Holy Quran that Hadhrat Muhammad (saw) is not a policeman over the lives of people, especially Muslims. He is but a messenger.

The Holy Quran is a book for Muslim, primarily, hence, this verse applies to them first. Further, many people had left Islam during the Prophet's (saw) life. He never killed anyone.
