If you go to Jalalabad and that is the only urbane region I know where the people at least can speak both language. Take a trip to Kabul and tell us after the trip where you heard any Pashto.
You are lying. Kabul province is Pashtun majority, and in the outskirts and in the city, just about everybody understands/and or speaks Pashto. Even Tajik Nationalists speak in Pashto(think Abdullah^2 and Amrullah Saleh). Kandahar, Helmand, Paktia, and all these other provinces are clearly more than what you mentioned.

Repeat after me, Pashto is the NATIONAL language of Afghanistan. Pashto is the OFFICIAL language of Afghanistan(with Dari), every Tajik and Uzbek knows about Pashto, knows at least a paragraph of Pashto by guaranty(because of the national anthem). Considering the fact that Pashtuns are the majority(over half)of the Afghan population, it is common sense(clearly you were weak at math)that Pashto is spoken by AT least half natively and others(think Tajiks and Uzbeks in Kandahar/Helmand)speak it as well. Heck, during the Taliban regime, EVERY SINGLE Afghan knew and spoke Pashto, since Kandahar was the capital. Don't ever make a fool out of yourself.

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

If you count all Pashtu scenes you will get for the entire day maybe 1 hour Pashto entertainment. That´s the problem. While Pashtuns look Tolo or other Dari channels not much (if anyone does) Darispeakers look Pashtu channels. Look how this Iranian guy Saad Mohseni with Bayat and even Nabil Miskinyar dominate the entire entertainment in Dari. Saad Mohsini is considered as the most powerful medial man and media moghul. These f*** Tajokes are Tajikizing Afghanistan and we are supporting them by watching their channels. We supporting them to destroy our culture by watching Afghan Star and all those sh**. It´s a shame that these non Pashtun afghan immigrants impose on us their heritage.

There are thousands of websites in Pashto, in fact more Pashto(strictly) related news websites exists vs Dari, plus there are several TV channels with Pashto broadcasting. You are trolling with your nonsense, I suggest you to bring evidence to the conversation and remain with the attacks against Punjabis and Tajiks. Tajiks, Punjabis, Hazaras, are our regional and national brothers so stop spreading hatred, lies and the manipulation of truth.

Afghans die left and right, become refuge and go to their land, Pukhtankhwaa, (they will always consider it as their land), and you mock them, Alhamdillah. Your brothers and sisters die night and day and you have the nerve to make fun of their situation? Brother, why does Sarhad have money, from what, don't they eat out of the hand of Punjabi's and all the money they send into Sarhad?

Think about that for a second. As a Muslim and a Pashtoon what you said is beyond shameful - Allah (swt) loves the mazloom not the one who boasts about having money and as a Pashtoon I have never heard of boasting of money you have that is essentially khairat given from their Punjabi government via American aid. You shouldn't boast about that. I would also suggest you learn to differentiate between a Tajik and a Pashtoon. When you consider all Pashtoon's to call themselves Kabuli is why Afghans consider all Pakistani Pashtoons Punjabi. If you are truly interested in unity as you imply, maybe you should give these things greater thought.

The reason you jump over here is becuze afghan-pashtun can not tolerate anything against farsi .
It seems to me farsi was the language of pashtuns and pashtu was the language of some pakis.

Taking an absolute approach, where its all or nothing and not giving any merit to the different shades of things I don't know what a proposed final end game is.

In any event, though, as of now, Pashtoons and their language and culture have a higher status in Afghanistan then Pakistan and so if your ideal is a completely 100% Pashtoon country, having Sarhad combined with what is now Afghanistan would be better but still not a 100% Pashtoon country with no other ethnic group, languages, or cultures. I mean, just in Sarhad alone about 50% of Peshawar's historical population was Hindko, you have slews of Hazaras, Chitrali's, Kalash, etc. so they would have to removed as well I guess if you want one monolith. If you want to go a step further, many Pashtoons don't consider some of the major Pashtoon tribes to even be khaas Pashtoon so where does the purging end? Everyone has their own ideas so to each their own I guess.

However, the point of the post was just to highlight that people shouldn't brush in such broad strokes when saying the influence of Dari is as pervasive and dominant as Urdu is on the Pashtoons/Pashto of Pakistan. This belief is why some Pashtoons on the Afghan side feel the way they do on this thread and others and I was just bringing that to the attention of people on the other side that might not see things from that vantage point.
You yourself call it sarhad. It was always pashtunkhwa and even punjabis accepted but you did,nt You are asking us for unity with what?
It is true pashtuns have no country.
Afghanistan is not a pashtun country when it comes to the statuse of pashtuns and pashtu there.
Your karzai took oath in dari.In the offices even pashtuns will say ,,,buro buro,, to you if you can,nt answer in dari.
Your tv,media,ANA, an you name it all in farsi.
Some pvt channel like jondoon/zwandoon etc are mainly pashtu but even there they include farsi.
                  pashtunistan is the answer

A few things, the issue I have seen is not about defending Farsi which no one here was. It's about saying who has influenced who more, i.e., I believe it was you feel that or some other poster here feels that Farsi speakers have influenced Pashto language and culture the same as Urdu has influenced Pashtoons in Pakistan which I personally, and many others don't think is true. It's about the amount of effect, not whether there is any at all.

Secondly, I don't want to go into detail about it, but some of the bay namoos things, bay ghairat things, among others, that have happenned in KPK are very disgusting and not befitting of any Pashtoon, its not our culture. I have never heard of similar treatment by people in Afghanistan against Pakistani Pashtoons because they really don't go there unless they are working with the Americans or some of the NATO supply routes. Another issue, if you are talking about ill-treatment today, is because there is a war going on in Afghanistan and the soldiers, etc. who are primarily not Pashtoon blame Pakistan for it - I am sure you are aware of this so this might have to do with it.

Pashtoons from Afghanistan never call themselves Kabulyaan, only people who are Tajik will say this - if you came to Afghanistan and lived there you would understand how sensitive people are about where they are from, even if they live 200 years in Kabul they will still say I am Kandarhi because that is their original home so the Kabulyaan thing really isn't accurate.

Also, most of these experiences of people are in Peshawar so the reflection is skewed because Peshawar, I really don't feel is an accurate representation of Sarhadi Pashtoons but its most Afghan Pashtoons exposure. But to be honest, if you go to Kandahar or even Kabul which are our main cities, the hospitality you will receive is much better then what I have ever seen in Peshawar. Since you are from Sarhad, you have not seen the things people say and do in Sarhad and how much Pakistani Pashtoons fight with Punjabis, in actual fights, and support their police who kill and steal from refugees every day without punishment or even condemnation. I am not famiiliar with the 1930s incident you refer to, but truthfully, every day is like that in Sarhad for Afghan refugees, maybe understand life from their vantage point a little better.

About calling someone Paki Pashtoon, it's just so people know who were talking about, i.e., the Pashtoons of Pakistan or the Pashtoons of Afghanistan.

Finally, if you are concerned with unity you shouldn't say the things you said - you have said very bad things and I could give a million horrible examples of things that have happened but have not, just tried to approach the issue in an unbiased way so people understand why there is a divide. I also feel maybe there is a language barrier because some of the things you feel have been said haven't been said, so maybe your just misunderstanding.

And just as an aside, I don't know what your religious leanings are, but I would just be careful about saying some of the things you said about the refugees who are mazloom in their own right and displaced, have their mothers, brothers, sisters, killed, and many orphans as well. It is Ramadhan, so if you have some belief in Islam, it's something you should be careful about saying as it's not a small matter Islamically speaking no matter if you were provoked or its retaliatory or not. It's a very offensive thing to say Islamically and just as a Pashtoon especially when the money and aid is coming from outside sources.

When did I call you bayghairat? I never said that, I said bayghairat and bay namoos things also have happened in KPK because you mentioned these words about Afghan refugees, you insulted them for being displaced, orphaned, or otherwise removed from their homes so I said many bayghairat actions have occurred in KPK and I could give examples, but I don't because it does nothing for itifaaq or unity. The reason I said it was to show you that it doesn't help anything to keep saying these words and you give on example of something bad, then I give another, its better not to mention them was my point. I don't call people words like that so easily, its not my nature nor should it be any Pashtoon or Muslims nature, it has never been a word so easily used as it is today. I am sorry you misunderstood me, I never would nor intended to direct that at you personally.

Also, what I mean by bayghairat actions in KPK, specifically Peshawar, is stealing orphans money, stealing shopkeepers things, shooting children, taking advantage of old persons or insulting them - this has never had a place in Pashtoon culture and I never heard of this as a part of any Pashtoonwali or melmasti. This is not a direct attack on Pakistani Pashtoons, but I wanted to clarify what I meant when I said bayghairat actions.

These type of things keep happening amongst Pashtoons and I truly believe it is why we are so destitute even in our own countries. The overwhelming majority of Pashtoon culture really comports well with Islam and we seem to get away from these beneficial customs more and more each day. Instead of doing the things that made the name of Pashtoons recognized across the world in a positive way, i.e., treating guests with such hospitality, forgiving those who asked for forgiveness, coming to the aid of the mazloom like we did countless times for Indian (now Pakistani) Muslims, never disrespecting anyone's namoos, and unequivocally standing behind our word and principles we have decided to abandon these beneficial customs completely for ones absolutely juxtaposed to it. In any event, though, my apologies if you thought I insulted you personally or Sarhadi Pashtoons which I did not, just some of the actions that have taken place there.

Secondly, I don't want to go into detail about it, but some of the bay namoos things, bay ghairat things, among others, that have happenned in KPK are very disgusting and not befitting of any Pashtoon, its not our culture. moreover Peshawaris themselves are not held in high esteem by rest of pakistani pakhtuns, we call them "kharian" and you dont expect pakhtunwali and values from kharian........it is interesting that you chose to ignore pashtuns from torghar to chaman and instead chose mixed city like peshawer as representative of pashtuns of pakistan.
