probably those were the kabuli to protect there ass they sold out the Kpk and parts of balochistan to British.

the kabuli didnt supported us and rather left us alone.

now when we are more in number and probably 10 time more powerful than them.now they live under our shelters in kpk..

The ones from Swat are a night and day difference from Peshawar although the Pashtoons get less and less Pro-Pakistan like you mentioned the further away from Peshawar you get. The ones I know constantly say "I am Afghan" they don't use the word Pakistani, they say we just live in Pakistan, but really we are Afghan and other comments like that. However, they do sometimes say some of the stereotypes about Afghans perpetrated by Punjabi nationalists although nowhere near what people from Peshawar do or say.

About Quetta, I think if Afghans would have settled there rather then Peshawar they wouldn't feel so negatively about Pakistani Pashtoons. Peshawar is very strange and it seems the majority speak Pashto but don't live Pashto. They have accepted Punjabis as their brothers at the expense of Afghan Pashtoons and have lost a lot of their original culture at least as to those that are actually khaas Pukhtoon and not Punjabis who learned Pashto.

I'm from Swat and I consider my self an ethnic Afghan, if anyone from work or socially asks me I tell them I'm an Afghan, there are also admins here from Swat that say they are Afghan. Bare in mind though, the majority of people in Swat are rural people that are busy with day to day agriculture and making a living and do not have time for games of names, titles or politics..they don't call themselves Afghan or Pakistani they just know each other as Pashtuns, if they were die hard Pakistanis like someone here mentioned then the Taliban and other afghans wouldn't have been able to implement their politics as easy as they did just recently. The educated ones that have been to school know how to speak Urdu because its a primary subject in all stages and you cannot pass school without Urdu as its a national requirement. Also to travel around Pakistan they don't need a visa and can travel freely so many take the opportunity to go to big cities like Islamabad and Karachi where they can make much more money to take back and feed their families (knowing Urdu makes life easier). When Pashtuns in Swat get educated more people will inevitably know Urdu but that also means in the future these educated people will have money and the option to set up schools in Pashto and the language and knowledge will flourish in literacy once again.

100% I agree with you. I meet Pashtoons like you from Pakistan and I feel were not different whatsoever and then I meet others and its unfathomable the difference even as to core tenets that might cause any normal Pashtoon to have a panic attack if they saw or heard it. I have many friends from Swat and they NEVER say any of the things not even remotely close to what I have heard from some of the people of Peshawar. When you say "Are you Afghan?" they respond to me as though I have gone insane and get jolted back by it because to them, Afghan = Pashtoon just like it has since probably before the time of Khushal Khan Khattak and at least since then. They have never, ever, associated themselves in any way with Punjabis other then saying were all Muslim which any Muslim agrees with but it doesn't mean we have all of a sudden become blood brothers and history has re-written itself so that we now have shared the same, culture, language, etc. for centuries like many people have been led to believe. I have mentioned this in a few other posts that it really is unfortunate that Afghan Pashtoons experience in Pakistan happened where it did as the rift became much larger between the two during this time. But it absolutely is not indicative of the true sense of Pashtoons across the border but its nonetheless one of the only encounters they have had with them.

But the reality of things is that as to Swat specifically (as I am sure is true of most of KPK) do the same things like any Pashtoon would do like fight over who gets to bring a guest to their home, fighting over who pays for things, etc. and do not mock those things. People from other areas have actually made fun of this characteristic from cities you probably can guess on your own. When I see people from Swat or amongst them I instantly know I am around Pashtoons from physical characteristics to mannerisms but I can't say the same about certain areas. They are generally very kind to Pashtoons and non-Pashtoons alike which, contrary to some people's belief here is our true custom and is why our reputation was so positive historically - because of our unqualified hospitality, chivalry, willingness to help the meek and conviction to principles.

And there is absolutely zero wrong with taking advantage of another country's resources, doing what's best for your family, and learning other languages and befriending other ethnicities and cultures. The only problem anyone really has is when you don't leave things at that and go further by foregoing your own heritage and disassociate with it for something foreign and completely contrary to your/our core beliefs. In fact, you could live a 1000 years in Pakistan, India, Africa, you name it, but just don't reject your heritage or adopt another at the expense of your own. Or at a minimum at least know what you are, don't deny what you are, embrace what you are, and respect it even if you have become completely detached from it.

What gets people upset, myself included, is not only when someone completely abandons their heritage and disavows it but also when they essentially becomes an enemy to it by mocking it, mocking their history and blood relations, boasting about money, power, control, and history that isn't even their own and being so completely obtuse that they can't understand how all their history, language, morals, culture, physical make-up, tribal names, etc. all derive from one particular source even when its staring them dead in the face - or across the border.

                            yes we are proud pakistanis,
your comparing afghanistan with pakistan?are you mad?

One is a nuclea power, with GDP 10times or more of yours, with a industry 50 times of yours, with export 50 times of yours, with infra,i doubt afghanistan will be able to reach the level of pakistan even in 2080.

Pakistan is a country that has been feeding your refugees and whole of afghanistan through the suppy line from pakistan for the past many decades?you dont have the aukaat to get your supply line through central asian country and than europe.and ofcourse iran would never allow you guys to terrorize there country like what you guys had done to pakistna by brining the ak 47 culture and all this terrorism into pakistan.

Pakistan on one hand is respected as a powerful muslim country among the muslim countries.on the other hand afghanistan is a considered a backward nation

60% of all the afghan elite pashtuns has left the country for pakistan.

While afghanistna future forever is in the dark pakistna on the other hand is considered having a bright future.

as per the 2003 imf estimate we would had now a 370billions dollars GDP if the growth rate of 8.4% since 2005 was continue.but allowing you afghan in 80's proved to be bad now by absorbing all the violence from you guys by our local pashtuns.

on one hand we pakistanis are making fighter aircrafts, tanks, ships, artillay, ballistic and cruise missile.on the other hand afghans are not even capable of manufacturing a real solid copy of ak 47.

Dont ever compare the present farsiwand afghanistan with us.we are miles ahead of you.
you know what funny part is though?

At the end of the day we re still Afghan, and youre still Indian. No amount of GDP and tanks will ever change that fact.

I do,nt know why you are turning every post like that.
I have never met pashtun from pashtunkhwa calling himself pakistanay.
They always like to be identify as a pashtun nothing els.
The word afghan is originated from the mugal era and mugal court.
The none-pashtun called us afghan. In between we never use this word .
You need some history book to trace the origin of this word.
The greek historain Herodotus when he visited our land(afghanistan and pashtunkhwa) use the word pakteen or pakhteen for us not afghan.
This is one of the oldest evidence.
why are you people following iranian historains.
even in isrealistic theory this word ,,afghana,,or afghan,,,is not making any sence and was rejected by many pashtuns.
The pashtuns are related to isrealis through another link ,,bani-bakht,,,,,,,,,you can read that in history section where i posted it.
Even here in pakistan they use the term afghan for pashtuns in id cards forms etc.Our entire tribe write afghan as an ethnicity in domicile and id cards form etc but again not the people of pashtunkhwa nor the afghan-pashtun using this in everyday life why?
The reality is that other call us afghan but we do,nt use this in general.

Did you ever read that poem of Mahmood afghan,s sister written for his brother.
If i find i will write it for you here.It is in the book called ,,pakhtana da tareeh pa rana ki,,,/.
She repeatedly use the word pashtun for his brother and our people.
Even the great ahmad shah abdali baba called his homeland pashtunkhwa later his own persainised family ignore this fact.
The reason i called them persainized cus none of them were able to speak pashtu as their first language including timor shah.Timur was born to an iranian woman.

So why khushal khan used both afghan and pashtun in his poetry?.

He was born during mugal era and this word ,,afghan,,was used by mugals for pakhtuns. .
He mostly used the word pashtun in his poetry not afghan.
                                You can read his books.

Now malak yar gharsheen a pashtun poet from present day afghanistan born in Ghor used the word pashtunkhwa for his homeland.da sher wolwaly
pashtunkhwa khukali zalmi chi Hind tha zgaly
                                aghliya paiglay kaandi athanona,

so why the pashtu speaking pashtuns never used this term in daily life.

I have read dozens of books about this name but do,nt make sence.
It is given to us by others.

Now to your question of pekhawar pashtana dont like afghan-pashtun.
First of all i am not from peshawar secondly you are blaming the whole papulation of peshwar for few bad people while ignoring this fact that some afghans commeting crimes there on daily bases.
Peshwar people in that case are more open to afghans then others.
Peshwar distt and city is papulated by many people and tribes.
In the city you will find kharyaans (bilingual in pashtu and khindko) and other pashtuns. However peshwar is more then 95% pashtuns which include pashtuns from all accross pashtunskhwa.
Outside peshwar city the distt is papulated by khalil momand, momand, dawoodzai, samkani ,urmuris and others.

There are afghan-pashtun camps everywhere in pashtunkhwa and i never seen anyone mistreating.
we have a very large camp of afghan-pashtun near gandap village in gadoon area and they are just like us.They are involved in buisnesses with locals and doing well.We hardly identify them cu they look like locals after living for so long. Most of them are kunaris, kandozi and logaris.
