A simple analogy.... shia then meant political supporter Of Imam Ali
I say I am that
2day Shia means something else... a seperate sect having its origins in the above but distinct from it
much like how gay before meant happy but had now come 2 mean something elseFrater aliquis in fide nec fratrem humanitatis

Nahjul Balagha, Sermon 91
“You should know that you have again reverted to the position of the [pagan] Bedouin Arabs after immigration to Islam, and have become different Shias after having been once united. You do not possess anything of Islam except its name, and know nothing of belief save its show. You would throw down Islam on its face in order to defame its honor and break its pledge for brotherhood which Allah gave you as a sacred trust on His earth and a source of peace among the people…You have broken the shackles of Islam, have transgressed its limits, and have destroyed its commands!”

Nahj Al baglgaha is not wholly authentic, portions of it certainly came from Imam but others are largely doubtful... He had many supporters,,, some who remained loyal 2 him as the sahaba I mentioned.... (or do u deny that he had any supporters?) and some that deserted him such as the ppl of KufaOriginally posted by abubaker View Postbuddy those shiahs were the sabaite the same people how murdered the third khaliffa, the same people whome ali [ra]
