Actually, they considers themselves the actual Ahl-e Sunnah.

This is a book about what their basic beliefs are:

They call themselves Ahmadi. It is to distinguish them from other Muslims. They don't want to cause problems.

What can they do aside from insisting that they are Muslims?

Of course they did not deserve it.

Did you know that the Prime Minister of Pakistan visited the sufi shrine (where people ask from the dead saint) that was bombarded but did not even send a letter to the Ahmadis who were killed while performing Friday prayers (praying to Allah)?

They are Muslims in my eyes.

      - Bhutto wanted the Islamists on his side.

      - He wanted them on his side cuz he wanted a tight grip on power.

      - He thought he could please them.

      - He banned alcohol and closed down casinos.

      - He declared Ahmedis as non-Muslims in the 1973 constitution

      - How?

      - He defined what it meant to be a Muslim, Ahmedis were made to "fit out".

'Muslim' means a person who believes in the unity and oneness of Allah, in the absolute and unqualified finality of the Prophethood of the Islamic prophet, Muhammad, and does not believe in, or recognise as a prophet or religious reformer, any person who claimed or claims to be a prophet, in any sense of the word or of any description whatsoever, after Muhammad.

      - However, Bhutto was wrong - you can never please Moulvis. Never. Never.

      - Bhutto was hanged by a suited-booted mullah.

      • It was done for political purposes.

The Ahmadis were the reason why Pakistan was actually created. The clergy were against the creation of Pakistan.

Once Pakistan came into existence, the clergy saw the opportunity to overtake the system and propagate their own political ambitions. Being clergy, they have and had a great influence on the masses. Hence, in 1953 when politically minded people wanted power they sought the help of the clergy. The clergy demanded that the Ahmadi lives be made hell and be declared non-Muslims.

Therefore, since 1953 they have been persecuted and in 1974 they were declared non-Muslim by a count of 72-1.

        • Aga Khan threatened to remove all of the his wealth from Karachi if Ismailis were also declared the same.

It is sad that Islamic history is such that when people disagreed with someone they call them a kafir.

          • That is politics for you...we will never understand it.

But that should not surprise you. What should surprise you is the fact that Ahmadis declare the kalima shahaadah and are still called non-Muslims.

Bhutto was a Socialist of sorts. Of course, he was one of the biggest landlords in Pakistan but that didn't matter..... that much . Bhutto always had issues with moulvis. Once in a public rally, he was seen drinking whiskey from his flask. When a Moulvi shouted something he didn't like, he said:

"Yes I do drink sharab but at least I don't drink the people's blood (like you moulvis do)!"

In any case, the Mullahs had (and still have) a lot of street power. They can have angry mobs rioting in the streets over petty issues. Bhutto wanted to take away the Mullahs' supporters from them. He reinvented himself as an "Islamic Socialist". Cowasjee (an influential Parsi Dawn columnist) described Bhutto as a megalomaniac. He wasn't wrong.

There are many conspiracy theories around. Some say the United States gave its silent consent because Bhutto initiated Pakistan's "Islamick aytum bum" program.

Zia-ul-Haq just wanted him gone. Bhutto was a potent politician. Zia wanted to stay in power forever so a living Bhutto would've always been a threat.

In any case, you understand now why Ahmedis here are non-Muslims, right?

I believe it was his actions against an innocent community. Allah punishes a zaalim with a zaalim. Zia ul Haqq also evaporated in the sky.

Because Ahmedis were not declared non-Muslims constitutionally for purely religious reasons but because of serious political considerations.

                      Secondly, Pakistan is 20-25% Shi'ite.

                      Ahmedis = 1-2%

Are you a Muslim ?? If yes then you must know the pre-requisites for becoming a Muslim which also includes believing in finality of the Prophethood of Last Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) of Allah. It is one of the basics we Muslims believe and after him there is No Prophet simple as that. If anyone does not believe so, then he/she is out of Islam.

Qadyanis do not believe in finality of Prophethood of Muhammad (PBUH) hence they are Non-Muslims.

On the other hand shias have differences over khilaft not Prophethood

WRONG. either you are not a Muslim or you do not know anything about Islam even if you are a Muslims. Forget about Pakistan or constitution.

Its the fact and reality that for becoming a Muslim you have to accept Muhammad (PBUH) as the last prophet of Allah and accept that there is no prophet after him and Prophethood finishes on him.

Anyone who claim to be prophet after him, will be a liar and fasiq.

qadyanis believe that mirza qadyani is their prophet and this chain is continued according to them whereas its a fact that qadiyanis were created by Britishers to defeat the Jehad waged by Muslims against them in sub-continent

Take a look at some of MWMN's post. He answered your questions already.

The bolded part, can you really further elaborate on that? I am interested.

i did read it but its not just Pakistan but any Muslim who is a Muslim will declare anyone as NON-Muslim who does not believe in basics of Islam.

As far as the bold parts in my post you are talking about, its simple qadyanis believe that Mirza Ghulam Ahmad as their prophet. This qadyani movement was started in Sub-continent during British rule.

Might also have something to do with the fact that the Bhuttos, traditionally were Shia. Nusrat Bhutto nee Ispahani also comes from a Shia Persian-Kurdish family. For Butto Snr to declare Shias non-Muslims in Pakistan would be like declaring war on his own family.

But in politics people are fickle, because Bhutto was very anti-Hindu quite overlooking the fact that the biggest Hindu community in Pakistan came from his own Sindhi patch and that his own mother was in fact born a Hindu.

I wasn't getting into theology there. I just gave Bhutto's reasons for his actions, which were political in nature. The man himself couldn't care less about theology and seals and what not.

If you want, I'll show you Sunni scholars who are convinced that Shi'ites are non-Muslims. They have evidence from the Quran and Sunnah to prove their cases. If you disagree with them, you will become a faasiq, a kaafer and a whole bunch of other stuff. Wanna play?
