I have identified a minor problem.

Most users from Pashtunkhwa and Afghanistan simply don't know how to post in a forum. If you notice Tor_Khan, they talk to themselves in their profiles assuming someone will respond to them. I think we need a video tutorial to teach users of our region how to post.
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Some folk add a comment on their own profiles ... but don't post to others, hence total silence.

Yes, that happens. In fact, it's really common.

For example, a recent member on his wall had something along the lines of "Salam der khush haal yam che raghlam dilta" that too, on his profile. I guess it's sort of hard to understand the concept of this website. Especially when someone is exposed to forums for the first time. Sometimes, they ask me to teach them how to post.

in my honest opinion, having recently been back home and seen what the girls out there want, they are constantly jumping page to page on youtube, or on facebook, yahoo messenger, skype, or uploading mobile taken pictures on 4shared. they only interact with cousins and friends they know in person. if a site was to be interesting for them it'll be an entertainment site.

on the other hand, the "intellectual" ones would concentrate on sites specific to their interest or cause, i.e. an islamic site, feminist site, poetry site, scientific site etc, anything specific to their interest.

i highly doubt they have much interest in joining forums, unless it becomes a trend in their locality or amongst their friends/family. so advertise more on facebook, draw up interesting topics on there, grab their attention, get them addicted, and then divert them to this site.

And I should take up a career in marketing.

i think another reason why there might be less participation etc is becouse of the way some memebers will rip into others.
me myself for example: i no quite a bit about pashtun and afghan history and i like reading in the history section etc but if i was to post something and it was wrong i would normaly get a ripping by all the others that no more about the subject and i have noticed that only a few people on this forum will actualy conversate with you on a level and try teach you instead of make you look small and stupied.

very true, and unfortunately that wouldn't ever change. it hasn't over the past decade at least.
