I'll *tactfully* ignore the last sentence which was written as a dig, but let me go back to what Timbaktu said that struck a note.

It wasn't, in fact, about cock-eyed optimism, because let me tell you right now, I don't know if a Loy Afghanistan/Pakhtunistan type arrangement will occur anytime soon. I love Afghanistan because it's deeply connected to my sense of history and culture. I very much understand the loyalties that many show to their land in Pakistan.

The most important thing - and we risk veering off topic - is that Pakistan works for Pashtoons and that Pashtoons are fed/educated/protected by the state AS Pashtoons. That is, that the state and its mechanisms are able to safeguard Pashtoons and their cultural interests.

In a way this comes back to the absence of Pashtanas from Pashtunkhwa on this forum. Somehow a new identity is emerging, replacing our historic sense of identity. I'm not sure that is wholly desirable. When Pashtoon women cannot take interest in a Pashtoon site like this, we should ask questions.

Put it this way, there are many "desis" who couldn't give a monkeys about our culture and heritage. Singing an odd song in Pashto is not about us, it's about others exploiting a market. Our culture, heritage, language and history is of no long term interest to them. In the balance of ideologies, we are having to give way. The winners are the Pakistanis who, having convinced us that a new identity is better have squeezed us to one side. What they get from us now is their trophy-worthy genetic material.

    • Here we go again with ISI, Pakistan etc.

      You loons will never learn.

      • ^ Never mentioned the ISI.

Also, I'm really not in the mood to be elastic around people in red capes whose tongues flap loosely.

        I have two delete buttons.

        One removes the post.

        • trust me, what you do is entirely up to you. I only post here for spending some loose time.

If you can't accept other viewpoints, you're not a particular good administrator of a discussion forum.

Those who are in superiority complex are e-warriors here who have succesfully established in west , when they get bored then do talks on these forums and vent their frustration by insulting punjabis, tajiks or some time kp pashtuns. When they are asked to return back home then they are unable to do so. If you people dont want to come back then why you people are wasting your time on debating deep pashtun related affairs?
look who has superiority complex now.

i think your mind is full of grabage and that can be seen from your signature.Offcourse most of us are from out of Afghanistan and pukhtunkhwa and since we have seen the world we know better whats goin on than someone who takes jinah for his rehbar.

Bottom line is if you are so much against Pashtun unity and interest why are you here?

            • ^ Because i am a pashtun, it is natural for me to be here among my ethnic brothers. I am not against unity, i am simply not interested in it and pashtuniyat doesnt start and stop at erasing durand line.

Punjabis have no choice but to follow blind patriotism, i dont blame you. Agencies are doing things which can be called as terrorism but they do it for sake of "protecting" country. Pashtuns are being used again as fuel for jihad against america by this crazy ISI, destroying the peace and stability of afghanistan as well continue to encourage pashtuns on path of religous extremism even though it had yield disastrous effects.

Badi, for Muslim Punjabis and Urduites, Pakistan is the highest political and cultural ideal that they have ever achieved. They don't have any history before that except that of negligible conquered peoples serving under different kings and emperors. Therefore, for them, Pakistan means everything. It is bigger than their weak cultural identities. That is not the same case with the Pashtuns and the Baloch. They both have strong identities that transcend and exceed the weak limitations of the Pakistani two-nation identity, which has been imposed on them through force and propaganda.

The Pashtun and Baloch areas that fall under Pakistani hegemony today did not have massive Hindu populations whom they feared would usurp their rights. This Hindu-Muslim problem was in UP, Punjab, Sindh, etc but never in KP or Balochistan. In any case, that's a different debate altogether.

It is difficult for me to accept that a proud Pashtun who knows his history can accept a foreign lawyer as his greatest leader.

Anyway, what Luffy said about the economic state of some Afghans in Pakistan is not too far from the truth. In many street-corners of the various major city of Pakistan, you can see Afghan urban scavengers - young boys and girls roaming around, sifting through garbage and looking for recyclable material. Many Pashuns from Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, etc have also become impoverished due to this war, by the way and they're barely one step above these scavengers. Of course there are many Pashtuns from the west of the Durrand who are economically very stable but at the same time, it breaks my heart to see so many who are stuck in this cycle of poverty and are condemned to live a life of utter destitution.

This is also why Urduites and Punjabis have a low opinion of "Pathans" and "Afghans". What else would they think when all they see of our people is this? More than a thousand years of glory are simply forgotten because of these hard times that have befallen us in these last 40 years.

                    True.

Theirs alot of Afghans kids in places like Peshawer who beg or collect garbage. They spend all day outside, and get no education. The Pakstani government needs to setup some kinda of program to tackle this, and do their job as a legitimate government.

sorry but what 1000 year glories? pashtuns never built anything in their homeland or in north india, they didn't do anything productive, unlike mughals or persians, the only thing pashtuns were good at was fighting and conquring and looting others, Mughals atleast became indians with time and under them muslims and even hindus lived nicely. We have culture and history, yes we were hindus before, but so what? ancient india invented so many things, they are famous around the world for their inventions. World famous indus valley civilization is a indic civilization, so i dont understand what you mean we have no history, look at your own barbaric history first and then talk about others. The problem with you guys is that you are too proud of yourself, and this false pride has hurt you through out your history, thats why you are still mostly living in caves for the most part, while your neighbours have all advanced in everything. Open your eyes and see the truth

                      • ^Mughals were useless, aayash, sharabi and zanakar rulers who did'nt give any thing productive to india. The money that they collected by imposing taxes on poor locals, were spent uselessly on building tombs, palaces and gardens instead of welfare of common people. Tell me one pashtun king of india who was sharabi and kababi like mughals?
And before calling us cavemen, remember the time when marahatas were danger to your existence and you people were in desperate need of ahmad shah abdali and his afghan forces.
