Sufis dedicate their lives to the worship of Allah Most High, which is at the heart of the message of the Qur'an, while those whose videos you post again and again advocate terrorism and the murder of innocent civilians, which completely contradicts the Qur'an.

Pakhtun_Policy, your father is one of the sheikhs you listed? I saw something on the listing but now don't know where to go back and check for the caption. Then SK mentioned that. Is he - A - sheikh somewhere, or related to one of these you posted?
Curious.

If so -- can you ask HIM what HE thinks about this situation? What does he see as the best course of action in the face of the military conquest by America-nato?

If not -- are there others whom you could ask? I would really like to figure out a rough estimate of how Sufis stand about this very cruel treatment of their compatriots - or at least co-religionists - in Afghanistan.

Of course there will be a spectrum ranging from active collaboration to fervent freedom fighting.

Before saying too much more, I would like to figure out how various Sufi Pirs stand on this topic. Not one by one necessarily. At least the best overview that could be assembled.

I advice everyone to listen to the following lecture series called "The battles of hearts and minds". Then you will understand how the west is waging a war of ideas, together with the real military war. This is also mentioned by RAND-corporation and by the ministry of Defense, the pentagon in their reports. They are using among others the Sufi's and sufi ideologies and other sects to divide the muslims and water-down the real islam of the prophet and the Quran. They want to let the people follow islam selectively and according to their whims and desires. They want to bring a new civil, democratic and American version of Islam. An Islam which is submissive to their kaafir and tyranic rule. A Islam which is based on fiqh of the Marines and the scholars of the Pentagon and Brussels. An Islam which is legitimizing the rule of puppets like Karzai, Mubarak, Zardari and others. An Islam which is not based on the Shariah, but man-made laws issued from the House of Representatives and Congress. A Islam which allowes immorality, usury, prostitution, dancing, singing, degrading women, homosexuality, alcohol etc. A Islam which doesn't know Wala wa Bara. An Islam which prescribes enmity to the real believers and friendship with the unbelievers. An Islam which legitimizes and promotes the occupation and killing in the muslim countries. They want the ummah to surrender and become like sheep, in order to get slaughtered.

First of all,all the pictures of the various Sufi Saints and texts that I have posted here I have found on different sites around the net. None of the Sufis are related to me at all. The text where it says "my father is a Sufi" is also a text that I copied from the net. I should have been a bit careful and edited out that part before I posted it ,so people didnt mistake it for beeing my father.My mistake.

there are two version of Sufism, that which the west prefers, and the version practiced by the Ottoman Turks (Naqshbandis whose purpose was to spread Islam to the world, and believed in fighting for this cause).

The liberal Sufism today has become well sort of a joke. In my high school, a gay teacher told me he was Sufi and that "we were brothers" <<<<LOL>>> He also had a sheik who was ok with him being gay. (lol what type of Muslim Sheik says this is ok)
Also, many in the west purposely misinterpret Rumi especially when he is talking about the Beloved (Allah(swt))). They say he is talking about a woman who he has feelings for. They pretty much misinterpret all his poetry which talks about love for Allah(swt).

So today's Sufism allows misfits and other weirdos to enter our religion. We need to separate ourselves from Muslims promoting a liberal or as they like to call it "toned down" version of Islam. They are smart and have figured this is the only way to subdue the spirit of the small number of true Muslims in the world.

While at a time I used to think it is ok to accept all different Muslims, I have recently felt that the only way forward is to separate from those who have gone astray. Time is moving too fast to be accommodating the differences in our faith. The more the differences, the less coherent we will be as a unit, the less strong we will be at the end.

So this is not an expression of intolerance, but rather a message to those deviants to get back on track and quit their damaging ways.

I have to say that awhile back, well before I found PF, I was looking at one Sufi news blog because I didn't know where to get reliable news about Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey.
THEN! One of their editors covered some event in America where homosexuals were part of a Sufi gathering. The editors seemed to APPROVE this! I didn't go back to that site, so repulsed was I.

That was my first tip of where the Sufi movement in America was heading.

Maybe this result was from the fact that it was way off from the beginning, into nebulous zones like corny "Sufi dances" as they were called. Any old way to attract Westerners who were starting to look to other religious traditions. Hindu gurus - every one of them charlatans except perhaps Yogananda, and his teachings were quickly changed by his American followers to fit a dark agenda - were the by far the most popular with American seekers. Next were pseudo-tibetan monks of all descriptions, resulting the huge craze in the U.S for "buddhism" - due to the perception that a belief in God is not required. Many Jews and many others from Christian or no religious background found this immensely appealing and signed up by the thousands. They chant away little mantras to reassure themselves that they are on a spiritual path and hence didn't have to feel guilty anymore. Completely all about the ego and impressing others too. The wife of daniel pearl was in one of the most weird of these chanting cults -a footnote.

So, in the fake Sufism peddled to compete with these more accepted groups, Islamic principles were NEVER EVER explained, for these would 'turn off' the Western ultra-liberal-minded youth. All ages, too. And THAT was BEFORE all this anti-Muslim hysteria campaign, carefully orchestrated by the usual suspects to brainwash the wider society of Western countries in the last decade or two.

If people hear more details about how Sufism in America is connected with The Homosexual Lobby, I would like to find out. The whole link is so suspicious.
For example it would be great to see if there are any rough estimates of what percentage of supposed sheikhs are:
1. homosexual [probably not too many - yet]
2. pro-homosexual
3. indifferent, no problem to have homosexual "murids"

Now I maintain that some of most serious Sufis in Afghanistan are not corrupt and can fight back. I'm trying to gain some surety about this, though.

I would like to believe Pakhtun_Policy's assertion that they ARE fighting against the cruel suppression of a lovely and good people, the Afghans. It's REALLY Shaitan working through "Isaf" to batter down the wills of Afghans, some of the only people in the world who possess the backbone to stand up. As said above, Afghans show the world the right way. Or even that there IS another way to live and conduct one's life and one's country than the Western example so pushed on peoples everywhere - whether they like it or not. Thus, weaker souls go along with Western modes, sometimes with private misgivings. There haven't been enough other examples to give them the courage to reject evil ways.

However! Except for the occasional piece on Russian affairs, I would never LOOK at a Radio Free Europe article. It's sheer propaganda, especially about Afghan affairs. No REAL information that an objective person can cull through to figure out what's going on over there.
