I didn't take a look at the video sequence yet
Is there REAL evidence of the clairvoyance claimed?
Let's examine these types of criteria.
Osmanli celebi,
The Naqshbandis WERE great during the Ottomans.
A few evil people were probably the ones about whom the rumors spread.
One must examine the sources.
For example, I notice reading back that Ottoman haters among the Greeks were the culprits in stigmatizing the Ottomans among Europeans as suffering from "the Turkish vice" i think they dubbed this problem. The idea caught on amongst those Europeans who were searching for any negative quality to impute to their - let's not forget! at the time - ARCHENEMY. They still recalled the siege of Vienna.
The Greeks were only too happy to fuel the hatred for Turks and Muslims in general.
In fact, nothing has changed in this regard over the last so many hundred years.
Of dervish orders, the "Nakshibendis" as the Turks write the name [approximately!] were sober. Perhaps the Bektashis were the wildest. Many of the Janissaries, let's not forget, were captured Christians who may have converted in name and were not serious Muslims.
I'm just guessing.

Suffis are peace-loving and more tolerant to diversity unlike some other sects. Moreover, Cateya Sher, I request you to reply to the thread "Turks Opression of Kurds".Originally posted by Catya Sher View PostPakhtun_Policy:

No I am not anti-Turk. I rather admire them as one of the people amongst Muslims that have the potential to become the lead nation of the Muslim world.Originally posted by Catya Sher View PostToramana,
Yes I was planning to when I saw a post about that somewhere.
Is there a separate thread, I've forgotten where that was.
I will make a reply whenever I have time. It could be a few days.
Why are you so anti-Turkish, by the way? Any reason?
I have not met a Turk yet so how could I be against them. I, however, disagree with their policy of marginalizing Kurds (I have talked to many Kurds). The other thing I am disappointed the Turks about is their diplomatic (and support to) approval of Pakistan's attitude towards its ethnic minorities probably because of its own Kurdish problem.

Brother, Toramana.
I have lived with Turkish people for many years as I have many friends among them. Turkish people are good people and most of them ,the laymen inculding some officials in the goverment adhere to Naqshbandi Sufi Tariqat. However there are many seculars among turkish people who are agents of the jews. The only one thing I dont like about the turks are that they are very LAZY . LOL
When it comes to Kurdish people there many among them who are Sufis adhering to Naqshbandi Tariqat( some of them are my friends) ,but many among them are also literally kafirs. They adhere to the criminal ,terrorist organisation called PKK.I have come across many of these guys and they have absolutely no respect for Islam and they insult Islam :
The above video is nothing compared to what they do to Islam in Turkey.Last edited by Guest; 10-18-2010, 10:52 PM.

Pakhtun_Policy,
I agree there's a big infiltration of pro-Israeli, pro-Zionist elements.
If one goes back to that group in Salonica, modern Thessaloniki of a Jewish population which PRETENDED to convert to Islam, there are many, many questions raised as to their influence in elite circles.
I agree also about the PKK - I was going to bring that up.
Though the Kurds have been unduly oppressed, that much is true, the means for retaliation against the Turkish govt should not have been leftist terrorist attacks, but through civil procedure. I have traveled a lot in the Kurdish areas, so I've seen that the Kurds are very upset. They ARE nice and genuine people, the Kurds. But why, everywhere from the Komaleh against Iran, to the leftist Kurdish groups against the central govt of Iraq, to the odious PKK, do the Kurds choose THESE radical socialist/communist avenues to protest their lack of rights in the three nations?
I think the Turks were too threatened by them. Remember they always insisted on refering to their Kurdish population as the rather insulting "mountain Turks". Kurdish language instruction in schools was not permitted, and Kurdish culture discouraged.
However, none of that is grounds for signing up for the PKK or Komala.
The video clip appears candid. Clearly it is used by the video maker to enhance the bad image Turks have of the PKK.
I agree about the Turks except for the lazy factor. I never noticed that. How did you catch the signs of that, Pakhtun_Policy?
Whereabouts did you live? I'm curious, that's quite interesting.
IF you feel like telling. Were you a student in Turkey, or working there?
Naqshbandis have a tremendous network in business, finance etc. too.
They are so powerful - but are countered by the secularists, sadly.
