Arabs of the time used to bury their newborn daughters.
Christianity use to have child marriages as well.
Islamic countries were closed off from the rest of the world.
It has been only a century that Islam & Muslims have came into the modern world.

Nobody is denying that it wasn't a common practice in those days.

But in the modern world, is Muhammad an example for all mankind? No

The world has evolved from then and improved their morality. Muslims have been left behind.
improved morality ?? are you ok ?

Allah's book the Quran remains preserved, intact in the same format from Morocco to Malaysia, Tatarstan to Tanzania, as foretold in his book itself the Quran.

Also if you read the Quranic text closely it alludes to the emergence of sects and calls for unity, both in religion and as a community.

      • how can a divine book be preserved for 1400 years despite so many people tried to change it. It is itself a miracle. but the deaf, dumb, blind people will not believe because their hearts have become black.

          That's not a miracle.

The Qu'ran barely says anything. It's an ambiguous text that doesn't clearly say anything.
You cannot just follow the Quran. Go ask any Mullah, Sheikh.
Islamic tenants are found in the Hadiths.

          Go ask your Mullah, Sheikh.

Correct. He was criticized for almost everything that he did but he was never criticized for any of his marriages and now people 1500 years later are questioning it and believing that their OPINION are more valid than the actual people who witnessed everything of his time.

This is Arrogance at its best. These people are complete jahils. They have no logic.

Harvard Law School, one of the most prestigious institutions of its kind in the world, has posted a verse of the Holy Quraan at the entrance of its faculty library, describing the verse as one of the greatest expressions of justice in history.

Verse 135 of Surah Al Nisa
O ye who believe! stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah, even as against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, and whether it be (against) rich or poor: for Allah can best protect both. Follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest ye swerve, and if ye distort (justice) or decline to do justice, verily Allah is well- acquainted with all that ye do.

Its not our fault that your too stupid to understand it.

By your logic we should worship the U.N. as god and Mr. Ban Ki Moon as your last prophet.

                  It essentially boils down to.

                  A) Muhammad had sex with 9 year old girl.

Since, he was a perfect muslim and a example to follow.
Then we should all marry 6 year old and marry off our daughters to old men.

                  B) Muhammad had sex with 9 year old girl. But it was because he was man of his time.

So, Muhammad is not an example to follow for modern society.

                  C) Aisha was not 9 years old but older.

The hadiths are incorrect. Muslims shouldn't follow the hadiths.
Half of the Islamic faith is put into question.

Muslims are between a rock and hard place.

I've actually covered all if not most of these points in this thread, I'm surprised you did not take the time to read through it.

                  • No true intellectual is in atheist. The only people who are atheists are the blind, deaf, and dumb who fool their own selves into thinking they know something.

To be knowledgable, the first step is to recognize la ilaha ilallah. It is only after that you start to understand your surroundings and environment.

Maybe you should go read the works of acclaimed humanists & poets of the last 200 years.
Though, none of them claimed to be the last prophet of God.

You seem to be in a very bad mood. Maybe you should go drink some natural camel urine to heal your headache. Muhammad recommends it.

It seems to me that you did not examine the body of text within this thread in full detail, which is understandable because much of it is littered in flame or convoluted long winded and nebulous responses like that of Bengal_Tiger's or knee jerk attacks like a few others.

I have in fact addressed much of your inquiries already within the body of the previous posts. I'll do my best to compile them here so you can get a clear assessment that cogently addresses the subject.
I will stress however, the approach I'm using Assumes that Nothing regarding the claims of Islamic THEOLOGY are true. It is a purely SECULAR, non-doctrinal approach regarding Muhammad and his marriage to Aisha from a point of view that stresses an Anthropological Understanding than a doctrinal one. Likewise I also do not assume prevailing cultural, social attitudes about the topic. Hence, I will not appeal to them

A.) Biological Foundations Appropriation versus Cultural Norms and Perceptions

Anthropologically, we're assumed to be Animals first and foremost, therefore cultural notions are built upon our biology and not the other way around.

The intrinsic function of sex and sexual relationships is reproduction, reproduction suffices to establish familial structure as a core unit of a society, resource distribution a society and a social fabric. Therefore the role of sex surpasses cultural norms whether based on a previous era, current era or future era, while at the same time having the capacity to define them.

Whether it is based on sound or accurate understanding of nature or biology As humans are animals, and ALL animals are driven by biological signals, most human cultures have displayed evidence of basing their ideal appropriation of sexual behavior by apparent indicators or signs of maturity. This can be seen as crude, but it proved to be a reliable and stable method, for if it was not reliable, it would have affected human populations. And we observe in human biology that females affix the ability to have sexual intercourse between ages 12-14 on average and 9-17 in extenuating cases.

Taking this to a more general level of abstraction, The notion here was when enough information existed that sexual appropriation was attained, it was acceptable. Our relative associations on age would not have much weight in the framework of biological intuitions.

Therefore the age of Aisha is a red herring, whether she was 9 or 99. While we do not know with 100% accuracy whether she definitively reached sexual maturity when she consummated, since we do not have a record of when the event took place. We know from the information that exists that she was not recognized as sexually immature (a prepubescent) Therefore it is more likely she was understood to be sexually mature, by herself and those around her and therefore had reached sexual appropriation.

B.) Hadith literature and its accuracy.

While the issue of Aisha's age maybe a controversy, it is undeniable that the Hadith literature clearly state she was 9 years old. The controversy of Aisha's age however is totally irrelevant to the consistency of the hadith literature. The Hadith literature relay information about events narrated by the individuals retrospectively, they're not always dated therefore things like ages maybe relayed but the actual year and date may or may not be. The consistency of hadith literature would need to be analyzed through other historical methods like parallels to other events.

As far as we have information about. The hadith literature have remained consistent The issue of authentic versus inauthentic narrations is something that has been dealt with in other areas.

C.) Muhammad an example for All Time?

Whether Muhammad is an example for all time is up for debate between those who believe he is and those who do not. But Whether he is or is not, There is nothing to suggest that his marriage choice, date, age etc. etc . are desired to be replicated solely on those grounds. This is perhaps an interpolation rather than something suggested from the information given.

You should stop fantasizing about molesting children. Everyone know why people like you keep bringing up child brides and the justification for them. Go turn yourself in to the authorities for having illegal and immoral thoughts before you do something horrible if you have not done so already. Do the right thing you sick pervert and let the authorities put you in a hole so society can be safe from you.

This is false. There are hadiths that say she was 9 and others that say she was much older. Not only that, there are no known documentation that suggests that 9 year girls marriaging were the norm of the time. Since they were not the norm, then why did none of the prophets critics(and there were many) criticize this marriage?
