Here is another one,

Muhammad marries 11 wives, he then receives a message from "God" that decrees the maximum number of wives is 4.

Even if that were the case ...the evidence is right there thar your portrayal of what happened is largely skewed. That's something that you can't get around.

All you seemed to be doing is reading an anti Islam site and just rattling off whatever they spin as an issue. Like Muhammad's marriages has been debated for decades by critics and theyve never made any meaningful predictions from their premise . Again this has never been a controversy as there are many things required for someone in his position that others were not obliged to do. This has actually never been a real issue

Even from a purely secular perpsective leaders are required certain responsibilities and with it have dispensations .

But why would a messenger of God need to marry this many women?
Why does he need to make alliances when he had God backing him.

This is something a man who doesn't have God backing him would do, like a normal King.

Everybody finds what Kings/Rulers did in the past as abhorrent.
They obviously couldn't criticize them back then.
They do now because they finally can.

The verses about four wives was revealed in Surah al Nisa, which is a Medinian Surah, which was the 100th Surah to be revealed. Which means it happened AFTER Muhammad(saw) started having more than 4 wives.

What I am saying is that, Muhammad had more than 4 wives prior to the verse about 4 wives was revealed.

And the recommendation was that if you cannot treat each wife fairly ....then the recommendation is to marry only one.
