Also the similarities I found Karachi were, "For generations, India has had a prevailing tradition of the joint family system. It is a system under which extended members of a family – parents, children, the children’s spouses and their offspring, etc. – live together. Usually, the oldest male member is the head in the joint Indian family system. He makes all important decisions and rules, and other family members abide by them" Happens in Pashtuns as well, "For centuries, arranged marriages have been the tradition in Indian society. Even today, the majority of Indians have their marriages planned by their parents and other respected family-members. In the past, the age of marriage was young, especially in Rajasthan, but this is rising with modernisation and there are now laws which govern the age of marriage"- Also happens in Pashtuns "Traditional clothing in India greatly varies across different parts of the country and is influenced by local culture, geography, climate and rural/urban settings. Popular styles of dress include draped garments such as sari for women and dhoti or lungi or panche (in Kannada) for men. Stitched clothes are also popular such as churidar or salwar-kameez for women, with dupatta (long scarf) thrown over shoulder completing the outfit. Salwar is often loose fitting, while churidar is a tighter cut."-Also Pashtuns wear this, and the similarities goes on friend.

Dude you have to understand that India is a country influenced by different cultures. It has been influenced by Persian (thanks to Mughals) and afghan culture. Those so called turbans that resemble lungee's are actually from Afghanistan. You have to understand that pashtuns have ruled from India since the 14th century all the way to the 17 century so it would make sense if our culture has left imprints there. And no kamiz partog is NOT an indian dress it's an afghan dress. Before Islam, most indians were wearing dothis which are long skirts. Same thing applies to Pakistanis. Pashtun culture is unique and very little (and I man berry little) influence from the outside. Kind of like the arabs.Originally posted by Khyber Pass View PostAlso the similarities I found Karachi were, "For generations, India has had a prevailing tradition of the joint family system. I've come to the conclusion that you're doing this because you have a crush on an indian girl. If this is you're way to get closer to her then I feel sorry for you. And how the hell can a country like Afghanistan that is considerd the "heart of Asia" not be considered central asian? Lol. Oh and South Asia begins after the Indus River. We are before it.Originally posted by Khyber Pass View Post"India, being a multi-cultural and multi-religious society, celebrates holidays and festivals of various religions" Note the word Multi Cultural, this entire article does not account for all the various ethnicity that live within India, India as a whole is quite big and diverse. Also like I said earlier I find many similarities between the two cultures as a whole. "Pashtuns are a Central Asian ethnic group not south asian. And since when were pashtuns located in India in ancient times? That is not our homeland." Do you even know where Central Asia is Khushan please google it for me, actually never mind I'll get it for you
Highlighted in Purple is Central Asia and highlighted in red is South Asia."Revenge is a dish best served cold".

You do understand that what you just said is what I've been trying to say for the past whatever posts, thank you for clearing it up. My point with this argument is that we as Pashtuns, a ethnic group should not see others in neighbouring areas as complete outsiders, we are all the same to an extent, exceptions being religion and language. What I found reading through that article that as a whole the cultures are quite similar just that the languages and religions were different, making the culture a bit different as well, for example, Ram ram for greetings where as we say As salamu alakum, and the latter. So yes we are the same to an extent.Originally posted by Kushan Prince View PostDude you have to understand that India is a country influenced by different cultures. I'm actually not interested in any Indian girls, they don't attract me tbh :P and well that's geography for you, you can't change it just because you like central Asian better, Afghanistan is in South Asia, always has been, always will be as long as the continents don't split in half and cause a rapture or some end of the world type of stuff.Originally posted by Kushan Prince View PostI've come to the conclusion that you're doing this because you have a crush on an indian girl. The reason Karzai and his family and people from his clan are lighter is because they're privileged and they didnt go through pigment fixation growing up. Naghma on the other hand used to be much much darker when she was younger, but when she was dicovered by Mangal, she strted wearing gobs and gobs of Safedi; MOST Afghan women do this when they attend weddings aqqiqas nd birthdays. And now that she lives in the U.S. s an Southern Cal at that she probably gets skin treatments too.
Goodness you didn;t know that Pashtun women wear safedi? ae you really from Afghanistan?

So are you implying naghma bleaches her skin? Sorry but Pashtun women aren't in a inferiority complex like indian women. Oh and look at pictures of naghma during high school. She still looked pretty pale.

Like a lot actually you go into their bathroom and it's sitting right there the pink and white container, we don't have it in my house as we're all really fair but still I've seen many Afghans use it as well, fair skin is always favoured by South Asians no idea why though.
