I grew up in an area with a lot of immigrants from the subcontinent and can tell you that Punjabis, Sikhs and other North Indians/Pakistanis looked exactly like the Pashtun men I saw in Kandahar.

Kandahari's from my experience aren't that dark. It's mostly the jalalabadi pashtuns that are because its the hottest place in afg. And these "tanned" Pashtuns start looking like Mexicans but never indian.
