  • Why do Pashtuns give their daughters to non-pashtuns?

    why

pashtuns seem to be fine giving their daughters to panjabis, etc. other people.

    Why?

why don't they marry their own people? i think it will be less racist to marry their own people.

its very common in pokistan (pakhtun-panjabi) marriages. ive met panjabis who look panjabis and mostly all of them say that they are half pashtun??

it boogles my mind on how many panjabis ive seen with pashtun mom/panjabi dad.

why do they like the panjabis so much? why do they give their daughters to non-pashtuns?

marrying your own people will generate same looks and will strengthen culture while mixing will culturally absorb the looks/tradition/everything.

    ===========

and a question for you all, because i'm boggled out.

will you marry a non-pakhtun? being a pashtun?

    why

    just askin...

    collectin some info....pf

-a day will come when all panjabis will be half pashtuns...

i may be an asss for asking this but asnwer it lol...

I don't know that its as widespread as you think but you can probably answer the question looking to your own community, why do Balochi's marry so many non-Baloch? Baloch's constantly marry Arabs, Iranians, Afghans, and Punjabis as well. I think because you look at our community from the outside you think its more widespread then it is similar to myself, who if you asked me, feels the Baloch mixing is very pervasive. You may say its not, but where my interactions with Baloch have been outside their heartland, i.e., major cities, they do it (marry other races) all the time. Similarly, if you go into the Pashtoon heartlands are Pashtoon dominated areas, you don't see it at all and if you do, they typically will marry a woman outside their race, not give a daughter. Further, this issue is probably relgated more to the Pakistan side as the Afghan side, putting it politely, holds Pakisani's generally in very low esteem. On the Afghan side you see intermarrying of Pashtoons with other ethnic groups typically in Kabul only and from what I understand, the practice became more accepted in the lead up to the communist coup and not so much before. Further, most of these marriages outside of the Pashtoon community have typically been with a religious person/family, at least initially

In any event, back to your point, when people move into these mixed areas, they lose touch with their cultures and surroundings and get enveloped in the other cultures. This is why Afghan Pashtoons often frown upon the Pakistani ones because they feel they have immersed themselves too much into the Pakistani mainstream and as such, they feel they have a shared culture/identity with them which leads to some marriages. The Pakistani side obviously retorts with mixing with Farsiwans but to be frank, although my opinion may be biased, the level, degree, and dynamic of such marriages are much different. There are many, however, on the other side who are simply "Pathan" (most Pashtoons I know who are khaas Pashtoon take the term Pathan offensively, i.e., Punjabi influenced) by name but don't know Pashto, don't know their tribe, only speak Urdu, have been living in Karachi, Islamabad, etc. for generations, make Paki food, watch Paki TV, learn of Paki history in school, and eventually, all of their identity is entangled with another culture.

And just fyi, this forum IS NOT an accurate representation of Pashtoons at all I have thus far encountered many strange individuals here and only a few that actually are emblematic of our true culture.

mate i know who u r directing this stupid question to....Well its because pakhtuns and punjabis or whatever ethnic group should focus over religion rather than on ethnicity and about the looks well i m proud of my looks and u better should care abt ur devil eye brows who give me an idea about a nepali studying here at sydney (dnt take the word nepali offensive for urself,)
i think all u think everyday is how to hate pakistan and u r always making a plan to start such a thread where u can abuse pakistan ..dont u have anything better to do rather than showing ur insecurities to all the people on this forum ..i m pretty sure u r the most annoying person amongst ur frends circle as all u think is ethnicities..
Mate niazis as a whole are a big example of this mixing so i think u shud get an answer from there ,..another example are legharis who have lost their gypsy language too and speak seraiki now ..its the whole tribes that have been mixed with the local seraiki people(mahnoor baloch and zardari are example of sindhi baloch mixing)... get over it mate not all people think like u .. mate even a king like bahlol lodhi married a jat women so what ,,at least he converted a kafir to islam ..
Man u need to stop using bad words or u will be getting these kind of replies from me

          Thank you. great post.

Ofcourse there are baloch who mix with panjabis, pashtuns, farsi, other etc. but the ratio as i've told is very small. It also has to do with their population and strong cultural traditions. Same goes with pashtuns but it's kind of different for them. Especially the paki pashtuns, they seem to be fine with marrying panjabi, etc. And it also has to do with Pashtun population as i've told earlier. Population plays an important role in mixing. There are more pashtuns in pakistan then in afghanistan. If your population is big then mixing won't really result in anything. But if your population is small then prepare to get vanished. As true "baloch" in my case will vanish. So regarding the population, if it's small, the community will most likely won't mix because it is important to keep the traditions/culture small or it will simply lead to extinction. True baloch will extinct so that is the sole reason the rare ratio of Baloch mixing.

You can see the difference between a pure pashtun and a half pashtun. The looks are somwhat distinguishable. I believe in non-mixing as it will keep the culture strong and sturdy. I've seen pashtuns that hold no difference to Urdu speakers or Panjabis and exactly look the same. I think it's a product of mixing with either a panjabi or urdu speaker. Not that i am against it, but it will be alot better to be able to tell whos a pashtun and not so we may be less racist.

In any event, back to your point, when people move into these mixed areas, they lose touch with their cultures and surroundings and get enveloped in the other cultures.

Exactly, the legharis or whatever have been mixed and mixed and mixed and mixed. I am against that. They should know their language instead of acquiring "someone else" language (panjabi, seraiki). They are culturally destroyed and have absorbed someone else's culture. Calm yourself. lol. I am not directing this thread to you.

bad words? what bad words? It's more culturally related. That pashtuns should stay pashtuns and avoid intermixing to save culture and tradition. It's a lot more culturally respectable and less racist. All you do is bring islam on the way. I am not saying panjabis are (insert witty joke here), but rather Panjabis should stay panjabis and pashtuns should stay pashtuns in order to respect each others culture and tradition, etc.

YOU have to come to my threads and ruin it. Why?

You ruin all my threads and it ends up being a "troll thread".

This thread is related to culture and mixing not "devil eyebrows" or being black or hateful to Pakistanis. Don't ruin it.

This thread is going into a wrong direction.
