Health system is ridiculous in Canada even if its free and they really don't give a care in the world whats happening to you. And I have been to both. And yes, I WOULD dish out money for my health - (For God's sake, its your HEALTH!!!) but then again if you have the right insurance you wouldn't have to (And you could be covered for not only a family doctor but a dentist and also for prescription drugs and all that). And our healthcare systems will even pay for your ym membership sometimes lol. We do have something equivalent to "free healthcare" if you don't earn enough so you could have both.

I've been living in New York my whole life and totally agree 100% with what Admin Khana is saying. The education system here is so, SO SO SO SO superior to that of Canada's its not even funny. From K-12 to Universities kids here are far more challenged than in Canada. Canadian universities are not only a lot more over-priced, they hardly offer any support to students, or regular students. And if they do offer something it usually has to be paid back.

And no discrimination in Canada? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Just step into Quebec and they will help you define what discrimination actually is lol. That's the lamest excuse I've heard in a long time. USA on the other hand is much more diverse and you could easily find a place you fit into. The westerners here are so different from one another from their traditionals, hippies, goths and all that, that they hardly have time to look at how different we are.

And EVERYTHING, I mean EVERYTHING in Canada (besides your so called "free" healthcare which actually doesn't cover a visit to the dentist or any other doctor) is so expensive. The food, the furniture, the HOUSES (whoever is complaining about how expensive the houses in NY are should just look at a shack in Canada worth hundreds of thousands of dollars) the clothes, and education (Admin Khan is so RIGHT, forget big universities that offer loads in scholarships and grants, even small universities and colleges will pay for your education and add extra living expenses just so you can study comfortably) everything is so overpriced in Canada you can hardly enjoy yourself. A poor man with hardly a penny in his pocket walking around in NYC could go into Mcdonalds and come out with a full stomach and not be affected by the cost.

And let me not even speak of the Muslim populations in USA. Just visit New York or New Jersey and you'll know exactly why

Whether your poor, rich, educated, or uneducated, I personally think you would have a whole lot more opportunities and benefits in USA than in Canada for you and your family. But if your going to move to Canada just cause there's this so-called "free healthcare," then whatever floats your boat

Even politicians themselves want to do something about their education system. I'm aware of their arguments for more funding for education/indoctrination - I'm waiting to see if they'll show us exactly what they're spending the money on. Hey Faye, anyone with a decent degree, who is educated, never has to worry about health care. 'Health care costs' are a problem for those who are uneducated, and expect to be fed. However, the USA is not a welfare state like most European nations, hence the lower tax rates and far better opportunities, etc.

The USA has the following, and I challenge anyone to prove me wrong:

1)The best health care on earth.
2)The best doctors on earth.
3)The best hospitals on earth.
4)The best universities on earth.
5)The best Engineers on earth.
6)The best scientists on earth.
7)Conducts the best research on earth.
8)The best companies on earth.
9)Attracts the brightest and best minds on earth.
10)The most productive employees in the world.
11)The most diverse nation on earth.
12)The best opportunities for immigrants on earth.

Many Europeans, Australians, and just about any block in the world, wishes and has dreams to study in American universities, work for American employers, and conduct research in American research institutions. The same can not be said about any other country. That might be unfortunate to some, but it's the sad truth. If one is lazy, and is not productive, the USA might not work out well. It's a capitalist society. But just about any Engineer, whether he is from Australia or from Canada, dreams to buy coffee at 7am in Manhattan, while he is walking down to his job at Morgan Stanley in a city of 800 languages.

Now don't get me wrong, they are people who couldn't endure the pain of calculus, Physics, or med school, they drop out, have no future and expect to be spoon fed(hence those articles) for such people, welfare states like Canada or other nations might be a better fit. The USA will send you to school Faye, it will pay you to attend at the best in the world, with the best facilities, but if that is still not good enough, then your loss.

I mean, no disrespect, but If I am not mistaken, Manhattan produces 40% of the world financial revenue, and Manhattan is really teeney-tiney, kick back and think about that for a second. Manhattan's GDP is equivalent to that of Australia, and Canada as well. Think about that too, and ponder about it. Manhattan, if you have heard of it, is a small teeney tiney borough in NYC. So when someone mentions Canada vs USA, all I can do is laugh my butt of, since the entire state of Canada is in competition with Manhattan. Even comparing Canada(the entire country) to NYC is unfair, since NYC is far more productive than Canada. A good discussion, financially, would be Manhattan(a borough) vs Canada, or Manhattan vs Australia, etc.

i saw a doco, where a medical charity, that used to only work ouside of america, has been setting up tents and giving health and dental care to the poor, in america.

when i visited the states, i saw more beggars and street people than any other country i have been to, apart from india.

BTW, what do you mean by those who 'expect to get fed'? i just saw a doco, about 3 nights ago, of people who had homes and jobs but are now living in their cars and with their families of up to 6 children, in hotel rooms. and some of them go out to work IF they can get work.

They don't cover up everything, which country are you living in? They don't cover chiropractors or dentists or anything other than a general doctor. Like I said before, American healthcare will even cover your gym costs if needs be.

One can just see the difference in education here and how unchallenged these kids are. What American kids are learning in one grade, Canadians learn literally one grade later. Now it's not anyone's fault that Canadians have a low standard to begin with that's why there may not be any studies showing how they haven't "declined."
