Canada is too cold and snowy, but is save, clean and has a good standart of living, USA is good if you have already a diploma and can get a profecional job, like doctor, software developer or ingeneer, you can get more money and you can live in warm and sunny place, but if you are uneducated and poor than go to Canada like most of the peopel here, becuase there at least your kids can get better education and you don't have to worry that much about the finance.

USA by miles, and I mean miles. Better cities, better doctors, better hospitals, more diverse, better job opportunities, and not to mention our universities are on a whole different level tier, whole different. The weather is Canada alone makes it useless. When I say it's cold up there, I am not kidding; hear it from the horses mouth. Canada is more like a state, comparing it against the USA, with due respect is almost an insult. A more valid question would be, Canada vs New York, or Canada vs California; etc. If Canada vs New York, I can almost guaranty you that you will like it here in NYS, although I would recommend anyone Massachusetts, which has it all.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

good heavens admin..u.s.a. paradise on earth!
i have been there for about 6 months, and it was like being in a mental institute without walls.
i enjoyed it, being a nutter myself, but to be so adulating of it and comparing like that to another country, seems a bit.... AMERICAN.

What cities in 'Great Satan' are you interested in? Do you have a family to raise or are you coming alone? What is your profession?

Are you talking about handouts or something else? We are very generous with entitlements, to a fault.

Have you guys ever been there? Don't take offense at my next question, have you ever worn modern outdoors clothing? Gore Tex boots, Polartec fleece, Smartwool, Primaloft, goosedown and silkweights not to mention battery heated socks and gloves... layered properly will keep your body at Kandahar temperatures while the surrounding air is 0 degrees.

For everyone saying its too cold. Come in the summer times, its just as hot as California im not kidding. I mean USA is good I have been there countless times but your more likely to get discriminated there because of your religon and the education system is not that good. I mean my cousin told he didn't have any exams and he's in high school so he went to California with his dad. I was like WTH? And one word... Free Health Care!

Oh and not to mention that every other country in the world follows the metric system, while America is still fixated on the imperial system.

I can vouch for what KP says, every year the curriculum is dumbed down further in order to raise graduation rates.

Anti-Muslim prejudice depends on the area of the country you live in.

                          Khushan,

The USA has the best higher education on planet earth. It is every Canadian students dream to be a student in one of the top 100 universities of the USA, let alone HYPSM. I'd politely disagree. Take a look at the global 500 universities list, and let me know how many Canadian flags you see, vis-a-vis American.

I've been to Canada, and the whole point is to avoid the cold, not to battle the ridiculous cold by wearing two jackets, 3 three socks, with your teeth stuttering.

                              Health Care

The USA has better doctors, and better hospitals than any nation on earth. Again, let's drop the ignorance and try to understand what Americans mean when they say 'health care'. The argument is to make it affordable, not that it lacks MassGen, or any of the thousands of hospitals(some which are the best on earth, think Memorial Sloan Kettering), etc. Just about anyone, with a decent enough education, can get health care through their employer. Just about every employer in the top 500 employer list offers their employees health care, for free -- often times with no co-pay required. Now if you don't have a degree, and you don't have a good job, then you can get health care for free through a welfare program.

Who suffers? Small business owners, since they do have a job, yet they have to dish out quite a few bucks for health care, but there are subsidiary programs that offer discounts.

Like I said, Canada should be compared to states, not a nation which is 10-11 times it's population, with nearly 5,000 universities. It's a silly argument almost. Most Canadians, when they are really sick, are forced to travel to the USA for health care. God-forbid if you have cancer, NYC is probably your best bet, not Toronto or Quebec. From Tech hubs, to innovations, I mean it really depends on what you want.

Also, aside from the disturbing cold, things are ridiculously expensive in Canada. If you are into Islam, NYC will give you a far more Muslim vibe, considering how many Mosques are in NY, and how the population is increasing at a party darn fast rate.

Before anybody makes any further uninformed comments, read this:
