origin of pashtunised kasabgars

We are discussing the causes of Syed Ahmad's downfall and the hostility of Yousafzai against him. I am not telling you which Pashtun tribe have more Ghairat and Pakhtunwali. There are pashtuns who do not care about pashtunwali and ghairat but you can't generalize it for the whole tribe or nation. Referring to those Pashtuns who do not follow the code of Pashtunwali Khushal Khan Khattak has said:
Che dastaar tarree hazar dee
Da dastaar sarree pa shmaar dee
There are good and bad people everywhere and may be pashtuns and Yousafzai's have more Beyghairats but in the case of Syed Ahmad it was their collective ghairat and pakhtunwali which compelled them to raise against him.

It might not be practiced among all the Barki People but i do know a barki family having sold their daughters even though he was a Xen in wapda.

It doesnt mean that the daughters are sold to any xyz just for money but it has become the part of culture only.

^No he actually opened this thread to clear confusions on true pashtuns in pakhtunkhwa (considering he's from there himself) because a lot of people were questioning why pashtuns in KPK looked more punjabi compared to pashtuns from FATA or Quetta. He's practically saying the fake pashtuns are kasabgars who can speak pashto and don't belong to a tribe and the real pashtuns in the province don't look that different from the ones in afghanistan.

What is fascinating is that the empire of our age, the United States, has barbers, tailors, and cooks and store owners - if they run successful businesses they are on par with the professional class. In fact, political parties do their best to woo the vote of the small business owner. So long as a man earns his keep and provides for his family and doesn't violate a certain ethical threshold, he is not seen as inferior or apart from the mainstream.

The problem with viewing these people as separate is that two things will happen:

1) They will continue to work hard, earn, and build up businesses while those that deem themselves khans will stagnate. These same people will educate their children and take control of the economic levers eventually and may even get into governmental money matters. The Khan wont even realize it but the Jolah and the Barber's sons will be running his state for him.

2) If a society limits the ability of its denizens to earn - or these same denizens view certain jobs on par with feudal positions - that society will never rise to its full potential.

If a boy gets an engineering degree in the US and cannot find a job, he may invest and start a business of any sort whether it be a coffee shop or selling cloth or whatever his entrepeneurial skills desire.

What this mentality ensures is an entitlement sort of society will continue to exist. The engineer without an engineering job over there will limit his income generating abilities and business ventures to a narrow view.

Gadoonwal! you forget the most import Kasabgar of Pashtun Society i.e Mullah Jan. in our areas Mullahs are also considered Kasabgars coz they do all the religious rituals and customs for money.

not all kasabgars are non pashtun and not all mullas are pashtun. when the afghans invaded areas, they took over the land and other properties of the people and didnt let them have any properties. especially what afghans did to dalazak( were also pashtun) the ones that could not migrate were allowed to stay but did not have any right on the properties especially the lands, so they had to survive some how so they adopted a profession and served the afghans. mullas were given the land in charity.

I have great respect for all pashtu speakers kasabgars.This thread is to discuss the origin of kasabagars.Kindly stick to the topic.

In pashtunkhwa we use the word ,,kasabgar,,kasbi,naray zaat,khoshi,ghobani and also kotanay in southren part.
I do,nt know what they call in afghanistan.
kASABAGARS are jolagan,chumyaran,zargaran,daman,parachgan,nandapa n,tarkanan,awanan,kulalan and many more names.
These people are pashtunised and have no tribal or racail link to pashtuns.
They serve the pashtuns and participate in socail and cultural events.
For example many of these show biz women and men are kasabgars.
They are mostly dark skin,short and skiny type people.
Sometime they do things which bring shame for pashtuns too such as daman group.
Somewhere i read they were brought by pashtuns from india.
No doubt by origin kasabagrs are indains not pashtuns by any mean.
However many of them live like pashtuns and follow pakhtunwali.
The pashtuns do,nt marry them.
The kasabagars are in good number in swat,malakand,dir,plain area of peshawar valley,mardan etc.
In other parts you will find a minor papulation of them serving in the villages.
They also made good contribution to pashtun society.
They are calm and cool people.
They are belong to different groups some of them do cheap things too and bring shame for pakhtuns cus they speak the language.
Most of them hardworking people.
Today many of them educated and living good life.
I remember there was one chumyar in our class and everyone was racist to him and call him bad names.Finally his family moved to the city and there he become engineer.I still feel sorry for him cus as a child you do,nt know many things.
The abdalis also brought many of them as a slaves from india.
They are not the native people of the region .
They do,nt have language.They speak pakhtu.
There are some pashtu writers and poet from kasabgar origin.
