i dont know of any pashtun mathmatecian or philosopher. I understand why wont they have a philosopher (as not many people would want to deal with that sh**). Pashtuns were never inclined towards that in the past, although many enegernears, mathmeticaions, even philospohers are pashtuns today. Alot of good doctors in pakistan are pashtuns, especially in Islamabad & Karachi. In were the past they concentarted more on how to gain teritory from persian, punjabies, other pashtuns, Harzaras etc. It worked as they started from a very small area and now extend from Herat to Mansehra. I can tell you this about the town my great grand father came from; only educated people in that town were hindues, pashtuns did not even wanted to start a shop becuase in their opinion that was something a hindu (Bannia) would do. Things chnaged now, as most of the businesses are being run by pashtuns not even in this area but in adjoining punjabi towns. Now there are markets in lahore and karachi that are solely run by pashtuns.

I agree we should give women their rights, but not the way they are defined by the west. Women in my family are educated, and can do whatever they want, as long as it is in the bounds of islam. I give credit to the West for its democracy, human rights, economy, development, science, technology and I give credit to Islam for its faith, spirituality and ethics. I want to strike this balance.

Some sections of the West need morality, spirituality and may be faith while Muslims and Pashtuns need what the west offers. We may not copy the west in fashion, modeling, clothes but in research, education and politics.
