It's hard to consider someone your own race and kin if neither they nor anyone in their family can utter a word of a language which is yours. You will come across many many different races that claim Pashtun lineage but cannot speak a word of Pashto and neither can any of their associates or relatives- they also pull funny faces when you speak Pashto in front of them. If those are the type of people you are talking about then I think some of the more intelligent and aware Pashtuns would find it difficult to relate to them as part of the same race.

Major problem with claiming to be "Pathan":

    1. Pathan is the name Indics have historically used to describe Pashto speakers. The British then picked it up from them.

    2. The most important point of all. Pathan/Pashtun/Pakhtun is NOT a caste. It is a racial group with its own distinct language and culture that has been around for thousands of years. When a lot of people claim to be "Pathan", they do so because they think it's a caste which will give them some sort of platform on a social level.

    3. Since Pashtuns are a racial group that speak Pashto, individuals who cannot converse with them in their own language become alienated and sidelined.

When one migrates to another land and stays their for a long time, and has children and so on and so forth, eventually your own original identity is lost. That is the way these things go. Doesn't make any difference if your "dadi" was a "Pathan".

    I'm sorry if I've sidelined a little.

same fro brahmins, but brahmin male can only Marry Brahmin/Kashtriya and Veshya Female.

at marriage we have to prove that our last 7 generations were pure Brahmins (from both sides)

generally Full Bloods are considered Pure while Mixed are slightly Inferior. i guess sae for Pashtuns in South Asia.
Brahmins consider themselves descended from Aryans? They the top caste, aren't they?

It's not the same for Pashtuns in South Asia.

If one doesn't have a Pashtun mother they are not considered inferior. Again, being Pashtun isn't like being of a certain caste. Amongst friends, not relatives you quite often wouldn't know where your friends mothers are from unless they actively tell you, which a lot of them don't.

If your father is Pashtun then you are considered Pashtun. Period. There is no concept of pure blood. However if your father is a non Pashtun and your mother is 1000% Pashtun from the last 10 generations, you are still not considered Pashtun.

depends, yes,we brahmins since Ancient times considered ourselves Aryans, (Vedic/Indo-Aryans not Irano-Afghan-Aryans) thats why concept of Purity, Racial Purity is taken very seriously by us. that's why btahmins love Sanskrit more than we love our current languages. when ever brahmins founded Kingdoms in India they always patronized sanskrit. same for other vedic Communities like Kashtriyas and baniyas.

ryan Identity comes 2nd, our first/Primary Identity is Brahmin.

i dont know, but according to our books, yes. personally i am damn proud of my Brahmin Identity and Race, but at same time i dont consider others Inferior. each caste is special and we should preserve our uniqueness.

Indic is not a Race, Indic is a collection of different Aryan, Scythian and other Races.

            for example,

compare Indic Brahmins from other Iranic People Pashtuns

laws of living : Pastunwali - Manusmriti
            Ethnicity : Pustun - Brahman
Separate DNA structure from rest of people in their Nighbourhood ? : Yes - Yes
            Language : Paktun - Sanskrit
            Homeland : Pastunistan/Afghanistan - (Brahmavarta)KAshmir to Punjab-Hariyana.

Point noted, and i agree. both Race and Culture/Language plays vital part in forming one's Identity.

Put all of these actors in a room with a bunch of people from "our lands" and you will see the difference when they can't communicate with each other in their own language. I'm not talking about Hindi.

These actors ancestors may have been Pashtuns, but they have become so distanced from their Pashtun lineage that they can't identify with them anymore. Not unless they want DNA tests done every time this topic springs up. Lol.

Now, Amjad Khan and Kader Khan. Completely different kettle of fish. The older generation will know what I am talking about.

no, we dont even talk with savages, and your people were always slaves of our forefathers.

your username Prous, is name of one of the Indic Kashtriya/ a Punjabi Khatri.

nothing is funnier than a pakistani using his name when he considered your people sub humans. you have no claim over porus, porus was only closer to Khartis and Brahma-Kashtriyas of North India Genetically and Racially.

and please, i am here to learn about Afghan/Pashtun people and their culture. i have no interest in your nation/people and Race. please dont get offended when we distance ourselves from your people and stop starting typical India-pak flame wars.

I don't mind the tale of a brave and honourable king from the soil. It's just the rest of you that are cucks and frankly just cowards. I could punch a Brahmin in the face and he'd run away scared lol.

Porus was from our side of Punjab anyway, so you have no claim.

The Pashtuns of Mianwali and Attock seem to still have retained their tribal identity and are culturally Pashtun to a large degree. They still carry specific clan names. I see them as Punjabified Pashtuns, but still mainly Pashtuns. Pashtuns in Karachi still speak Pashto to a large degree and are culturally Pashtun. They are not much different to Pashtuns that live in the West.

North Indians are not Pashtun and have nothing to do with us. If North Indians are Pashtun just because they say so, then all those Arab wannabes in Pakistan (Syeds, etc.) are Arabs as well. North Indians (esp. Muslims) and Bangladeshis seem to have a fetish with claiming Pashtun blood similar to how some White Americans fawn over Native American blood.
