Pashtun Marriage problem (need advice)

The word pathan,afghan,sulaimani are words used by outsiders for pashtuns.
We never use this term in our daily life.
We use pukhtoon or pashtun not pathan.
pathan is the indainised name of pashtun.
afghan is iranizad name of pashtun
sulaimani arabized and turkified.

ok how many of your side pashtun use this term afghan in daily life?
khushal khan was born in mugal era and this was common name used by the darizabans in mugal court for us and other poeple of the present day afghanistan.
So he was also influenced by dari language.
alama habibi and many others rejected this theory.
You can search on this but you will find yourself pukhtoon or pashtun not afghan.
These are outsiders names.

one last question why is afghanistan accepted to minorities in afghanistan but not pashtunistan?
if afghanistan realy mean pashtunistan then whats the problem by changing it to pashtnistan?
can you change it ?
The reason is this word afghan is used by farsibans for us and for the people of this region.
pashtuns were not educated that time so they adopt this name.

the pashtuns in 1747 were idiots. they didn't know that they you were going to object to its name. pashtun are reffered by various names patan is one of the most commonly used. then why not patanistan. yeh khushal baba was mughal offspring thats why he used afghan. and then ahmad shah baba was another offspring of mughal to support the name afghanistan.

Yaar, I know where you are coming from, but the times have changed.

I am an Arain Punjabi, and my parents made it clear that I can never marry anyone else other than Arain girl. Rajputs are seen as higher status than us, but my family will not accept it. They are not impressed by Pashtun, Sindhi, Turkish, Baluch girls, or any anyone else.

I am going to marry who I will, because of my parent's request, but there is nothing wrong with any of the girls that I mentioned.

This is jahalat on the part of my parents, but still I must honor their desire.

We are like 60 millions on this planet. Of course in time of wars, we will have many uneducated peasants knowing little, who will do wrong things. And specially poor weak individuals who is lost or some who fall for the power of love and choice different. If we didn't have this, we would be the perfect race and something I know for certain there is no perfect human beings. But the majority of our race in the end is very good in fighting outsiders and outside culture, Pashtuns tries to make hard laws and norms to stay in course like our proud ancestors.

Even with devastating war going for 40 years, half of Pashtunistan occupied by British Panjbaboons not promoting Pashtun Schools, language, culture history for nearly 120 years and a filthy imagination line that has separated families, tribes, brother and sisters, we the few powerful Pashtuns continue to fight for the norms and purity of our race, culture, language and history. We have 50+ countries inside Afghanistan fighting against Pashtuns, half of the world is against us, still we manage to live by, so our offspring can have the chance to make prosperity and take justice of all wrong doings against Pashtuns.

But the most disgusting people is not, those who don't care or fall for love, or take a different path. But enemies like some poor Ghandaghoolwal, who is lost his mind and has identity crises, people who thinks English-Urdu is more important than Pashto as official language etc. Who defend others who is the enemy of Pashtuns.

Stay out of Pashtun culture and laws, we don't need your opinion, why are you even in this forum? We don't go and tell your people why did your grandparents worship cows and why do you still have your slave racist cast system in your province, that is against Islam? Actually this is one major difference I have noticed with Punjabi Muslims and rest of the Subcontinent muslims. Most other muslims dont follow this caste/zaat system, they have moved on, heck even hindus now days have moved on, as they are marrying different castes, yet muslims in Punjab are still following it

She is not dark-brown. Like she is light skinned, but she looks like a Pakistani and not Afghani. It's been a rough few days discussing the marriage topic with her. I have also cried many times because she tells me her parents are very strict and she doesn't know how to approach her parents. However, she has told me that she will try to talk to one of her aunts who is open minded in few weeks or in the summer when she is free about the situation. Then she will try to get her aunt to convince her mom. Like my Gf has told me her mom is not strict but the main worry is the dad. If my Gf can get her mom on her side then the mom can meet me. Once the mom meets me then she can vouch for me when my Gf fights for me.

To anyone who is talking about her parents killing her. It won't happen, we live in Canada, the law is really strict here. If they did anything to her, their whole family would be affected as the father or anyone involved would get a life sentence, and the father is the only one who brings in the money in their house. So I doubt he would sacrifice his whole family to kill a daughter who didn't listen to him.

Lastly, my gf has made it clear that her dad loves her more than anything, he loves her the most in the family because she is their only daughter. My gf told me, she hopes that her dad loves her enough to let her marry the guy of her choice. This is the little hope I hang on to.

Thank you to anyone who is supporting me, I don't see us as Pathans, Sindhi, Balochi or Punjabi. I see all of us as Muslims. I have the right to love a Muslim girl.
