if a muslim is one who believes in a creator, peace and a positive outlook towards humanity and the creation, then i am one. does muslim not mean, one who submits to the will of god? i already know what i believe and am satisfied with that. what does mohammad say about using the internet? what does mohammad say about living in a country that has made a war against muslims, and paying your taxes that go towards the war against muslims?

You know what being a muslim is faye. Followers of Muhammed, peace be upon him?
Do you believe him to be the Messenger of Allah, The One God.
And for that matter, what is "the will of god"? in your opinion....having a positive outlook?

no, i think many messengers have been to help raise the consciouness of humanity and i believe there will be more.
if you were psychic, you would not need to ask me.
the will of god is probably the opposite to your aggressive and negative attitude.
keep practicing your occult powers as they are not yet perfected and may peace be with you, bro.

If that was the case then quite possibly most of the world would be by that definition Muslim; but we know Christians are not Muslims, and Muslims are not Christians; so this concept falls into a logical conundrum.Originally posted by faye View Postif a muslim is one who believes in a creator, peace and a positive outlook towards humanity and the creation, then i am one. does muslim not mean, one who submits to the will of god? i already know what i believe and am satisfied with that. what does mohammad say about using the internet? what does mohammad say about living in a country that has made a war against muslims, and paying your taxes that go towards the war against muslims?
The wording is also vague; positive? What would denote positive? liking people irregardless of their lifestyle , moral paradigm and way of life? That could potentially be negative if all of those are morally destructive.
Therefore; Being Muslim is much much much more than merely believing a Creator exists and having a "positive" view of humanity. There are strict definitions which define it's fundamentals. That's what denotes being a Muslim; which is why people who wilfully believe that Ghulam Qadiani is a prophet, could not be Muslim; since Islamically such things are negative.

i read that the word 'muslim' in arabic, means- person who submits to the will of god. so then we will have to debate, what does submit mean, right?
i am not fussed scimitarx, as i said, i am quite happy with the belief system i already adhere to.
before i came on pf, i hadn't looked at what mohammad said, have taken an interest and like what i have read so far. i understand it is way more complex than what i have as yet learned but the basic tenets/ideals are towards what i already believe.
i have been studying philosophy, psychology, religion and other views about, 'life, the universe and everything' since i was sixteen.
if anyone were to put me off the muslim faith, it would be 'the fool'.
what i object to and will defend myself against, as you have experienced, is the projection of myself as the evil westerner, perhaps coming to this site to brainwash pashtuns to my imperialist colonised, burn the burkha ideas.
that is not what i am about but you 2, especially have always just thrown assumptions at me like i am to be the symbol for your hatred.
your hatred is your problem, that is for you guys to work out.

Yes that's the correct definition; but the key word here is "WILL" , Will of God is defined by the Islamic religion, which is in turn derived from what he revealed. So technically, you do not follow the "will" of God as Islam understands it.
I dont think anything bad about you; any issue we had we because you seemed to constantly want to interfere or got bent out of shape when I critiqued the zeitgeist of contemporary Capitalist societies.
However, this does not change the fact, you are by definition a Kafir. Or actually Kafirah.

i wasn't concerned about a label someone wants pin on me, that is the least of my worries. i was just answering questions put to me and explaining some reasons for previous interactions.
scimitar, i am from this place you define in those terms. if i react it is because you constantly stress the worst aspects and i believe from my own experience that there are good points as well.
by the way, i am not yet prune faced, but won't put my picture on here as it will probably end up on utube on a dancing bear or something.

I am not asking you because I don't know. I am asking you so my muslim brothers would read how the mind of kafirs work. (Logic. You don't have it.)
And my "occult powers" is nothing compared to the elites, who have already inoculated your mind and your people into total submission of their will. Now in your twilight years, you are a prey of nothing else but conjectures. And little by little you are realizing too little too late.
6:116 (Asad) Now if thou pay heed unto the majority of those [who live] on earth, they will but lead thee astray from the path of God: they follow but [other people's] conjectures, and they themselves do nothing but guess.
So faye,
These prophets have come to raise humanity's consciousness?
Do you even know what the word consciousness means, "sister"?
(I know you don't. But I am asking rhetorically. And if you want to know why don't you read the psychologist, William James' exposition on the subject )
The word prophet drives from the word, prophecy. So when you say there are prophets, linguistically you mean to say those who foretell the future. And what do the prophet's foretell? Or rather foreshadow? Judgment day? Are you ready for it faye? What was your purpose in life? Staying positive? Fighting negativity? For that matter, what is positive or negative but a taste of preference?
2:216 Fighting has been enjoined upon you while it is hateful to you. But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not.
so faye,
You say you...
16-64 = 48 years of studying eh?have been studying philosophy, psychology, religion and other views about, 'life, the universe and everything' since i was sixteen.
if anyone were to put me off the muslim faith, it would be 'the fool'.
I am 27 years old and it seems I know a lot more than you about "life, universe and everything". Don't you think?
Clearly you are confused faye...
your excuse is that you are happy with the system of belief that you have. But the reality of the fact is that your believes are not "systematic" since they are mostly founded on conjectures which in turn conform to the general consensus built by the elites. You are a typical New Ager - positive this, negative that..I feel this ..I feel that.. it's all about you eh? The Lord is suppose to submit to your will in this way. He has to make compromises for your sake and the greater lot of humanity who have chosen to pursue their own happiness. Yes... you are a westerner. We don't need to be psychic to tell that much.

"Know that the life of this world is only play and amusement, pomp and mutual boasting among you, and rivalry in respect of wealth and children. (It is) like a rain (Ghayth), thereof the growth is pleasing to the tiller; afterwards it dries up and you see it turning yellow; then it becomes straw. But in the Hereafter (there is) a severe torment, and (there is) forgiveness from Allah and (His) pleasure. And the life of this world is only a deceiving enjoyment." [57:20]
