The Durand Line is officially recognized world wide though. Doubtful It can be changed now guys. Even more doubtful Pakistan would want to lose half its land and unfortunately has the power to protect it's borders, and the non-Pashtun of Afghanistan have probably have little incentive to merge with 50 million more Pashtuns from Pakistan.

Only people who care about Durand Line must be India (distablize Pakistan) and some Pashtuns from Afghanistan. Not even Pakistani Pashtuns care about the Durand Line. In fact none of them want to merge with Pashtuns on Afghanistan side.

The only real solution is to keep good ties and relations on both sides, and that's about it really.

If anything Pashtuns should join Pakistan which should merge with India, and end this whole Pak-India warfare.

Yeah, no, ....we don't need another batch of self hating Indics claiming Afghan ancestry.

Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

durand line was imaginary until recently that pakistan has started to enforce it thanks to azmel's western created afghan gov and the main victims that suffer from the enforcement are pashtuns.

In Pashto, shurwa/khurwa can mean the watery part of a dish(not necessarily soup, which would be yakhni).
Well doshi is like dopyaza but pyaz is cooked with the meat.

You want to have a discussion about why Afghanistan should recklessly pursue a policy of undermining the sovereignty of a neighboring country while juggling with a militancy and ethnic tensions? What's there to discuss here?

It's not about that. He is sacrificing pashtuns for hindus. Siding with hindus is making the Durand line a reality where before it was imaginary. Pakistan never really made a big deal about the durand line, they never enforced the border. People could cross the border back and forth without issue until recently. Only Afghanistan was making a big deal about.

Also, Pakistan is not sovereign. none of the istan countries are.

You can make an argument without blaming the Hindus. No need to bring them up where they don't exist.

Probably because Pakistan benefited from keeping the Durand Line open and Afghans dependent on them. Of course, now the Durand Line is more of a liability so things have changed.

Also, Pakistan is not sovereign. none of the istan countries are.
What do you mean by this? Elaborate.

It is the Hindus. Pakistan is obsessed with India and as long as Afghanistan is india friendly, it will use its resources to punish it and prevent it from being India friendly.

Pakistan did not enforce the Durand line because it was afraid of a backlash from Pashtun tribes that live on both sides of the border. But since the US is paying for its war in FATA, it is using US resources to enforce the border and at the same time it has convinced its citizens that FATA pashtuns are terrorists so therefore justifying its brutal actions. Azmel foolishly believes that the US will choose Afghanistan over Pakistan but he does not understand how hegemonic powers exert influence , the divide and rule game.

All the istan(and many more) countries were created by European powers, they did not exist before European powers came to the region. They are not independent nor sovereign, their borders are decided by the 5 powers of the UN, not by the local peoples nor the puppet governments.
If the 5 powers say the durand line is the indus river, it will be so and the paki nor the afghan gov can do anything about it because they are weak and too divided and are more concerned to fight each other instead of actually fighting for sovereignty. Both gov are house slaves and are happy as house slaves.

                          .
I feel like you're confusing geopolitical interests, rivalries and insecurities for something else.

Except that the European powers roles have diminished over the last 70 years to the point at which they're negligible. It doesn't matter if Pakistan's borders were arbitrary anymore because now they've got a capable army ready to defend them. Britain might have decided the Durand Line, but they can't tweak it now. And nor can the US. The US cant even deal with the Haqqanis and the Quetta Shura who've been screwing them over for the last decade.

Not really. I can think of multiple instances when both govts have gone against US interests.

Well then mention them or are you still thinking of them?

European powers have not diminished, they are still bombing you without repercussions and they can change your house slave govs without much effort.

Drone strikes were carried out with covert establishment support. Don't be dishonest and imply that they were done against the will of the government. And like I said before, plenty of instances where both Afghanistan and Pakistan went against the wishes of the US. The continued existence of the Haqqanis over the last 2 decades is proof of that.
