Googling helps, but looking into the backdrop of these discussion would require a little more effort on the research part. These discussions were facilitated by the people living in those areas as they didnt see TTP as a threat that time, TTP enjoyed a lot of support in those areas till they started blowing stuff up. Aren't these people dead now ?

"On another level, the parliamentary leader of the 12 Fata members in the National Assembly, Munir Orakzai, has expressed optimism in this regard, saying: “I see a bright ray of peace in the tribal areas and if we come out of the American pressure, I can guarantee that there will be peace in the tribal areas in a few days and we will be ready to fight against India on the eastern border along with the Pakistan Army.”"

      • lolll way to divert kid. Whether TTP had local support or not is not the point, the fact that you guys say indians are supporting them and now here is evidence of your own army praising them. Hahaa FATA parliamentarians...as if they have any real mandate. They what the federal govt or GHQ wants them to say. When have they said anything worthwhile. Oh wait, check this

^^"Participants called for the army to escalate its attack against the network of Islamist militants across the tribal regions, dismissing Pakistan's earlier offensives as "military dramas." "

        • Oh we dont say it we know it, here's a neutral source

"While the U.S. media has frequently reported on Pakistani ties to jihadi elements launching attacks in Afghanistan, it has less often mentioned that India supports insurgent forces attacking Pakistan, the former intelligence official said. "The Indians are up to their necks in supporting the Taliban against the Pakistani government in Afghanistan and Pakistan," the former intelligence official who served in both countries said. "The same anti-Pakistani forces in Afghanistan also shooting at American soldiers are getting support from India. India should close its diplomatic establishments in Afghanistan and get the Christ out of there."

yeah so even then the parliamentarians are still pushing for a greater effort against the talibans ... why am i even arguing here ?

          • loll your own article refutes it or questions its premise right the end. You should read the articles you post next time.

"A Washington South Asia expert, among others, wrote to dispute the allegation made by a former U.S. intelligence official cited in the piece that India is aiding the Taliban, although he said such support may be going to other anti-Pakistan insurgent groups. "It doesn't square with my observations/sources, even though lots of Pakistanis will say it is true," one said. "The Indians have - by many accounts - had a longstanding connection with Baluch nationalists/separatists in Pakistan, but these are not Taliban and they aren't active in Afghanistan fighting against US/NATO forces. So yes, India gives Pakistan grief (as Pakistan has in India), but I've seen no evidence that it comes from Pakistani or Afghan Taliban.

"As for the consulates, that's a regular refrain from Pakistani government and military," the expert added, "but there's very little US evidence to support the claims of major Indian activity in these locations, which appear to be minor operations with rather few personnel." The former U.S. intelligence officer who made the allegation said that U.S. policymakers do not require the U.S. government to collect intelligence on the issue. "

uh i quoted an intelligence official, not to mention this news had been up for a month till the indian lobbyists outcry had to enforce a "re-edit", notice the neat little line at the bottom ??..but then again googling only takes you so far. even in his refutal he says there is 'little' evidence meaning there is evidence.

I did read the article and it was discussed to death with my indian friends, get schooled

              • I don't really care about you schooling your indian friend or not. That is not my concern. The point is that the little assertion was then updated and concluded otherwise. Even the so called evidence is little, so in reality that means bupkiss. Now I have already posted links in this discussion and others from locals who have rightly blamed the ISI and army. Even the ex ruler of swat blamed it on the army...and that guy is and was very pro-pakistan. If the wali of swat is calling out the pak army on his bs then who else wouldn't.

There are two groups of talibans.

                  a) the ones who are doing jihad against US in afghanistan, they are supported and funded by ISI. Their training grounds r in pakistan and r only concerned with afghanistan.

                  b) TTP, these are terrorists in real sense and have nothing to do with ISI, they are funded and supported by india.

These r not blank statements, an ISI officer and my taliban relatives have told me.

Baitullah Mehsud was a indian agent.
India has paid terrorist leader Baitullah Mehsud and his well armed and trained terrorist army around U.S. $ 25 million to mount a spectacular attack on a major Pakistani nuclear site.
India wants to destory Pakistan and they support these groups.

                          • Why would India want to destroy Pakistan and destabilize it's eastern border? Do they look that stupid to you? Pakistan is not even an economic challenge to them anymore, its not even in their ballpark. They are now a regional player, they are more worried about China than Pakistan.
