  • Who's The Problem?

Sallams to all of you. Ok, Id like to here what my Afghani brothers think of this. Who do you think is causing Problems in Afghanistan?

    A)The U.S Army
    B)The Government and its Policies
    C)The Western Media
    D)The American Citizens

This is an Interesting topic, and what I think is, The western Media, along with the Governments policies is causing all of this.

    Why?

Western Media: They never show the Pashtun side of this issue. The only thing I read on news is how many casualties the U.S suffers a day, and the bad conditions they go through.

Policies: All I can say is, Government: "Continue War, and more troops coming"

Also, id like you guys to see this video, and thanks for taking your time.

We have ethnic groups that consider the word Pashtun as a curse and consider Pashto as a fake language.

Like they say, "Achey kharay, hagha ba reybay"

wow, never heard of that... but quite annoying.

Afghans in Karachi, live better then Punjabis,Sindhis and pashtuns from Pashtunkhwa.

90percent of all clothing markets are owned by Afghans in Karachi..
The transportation industry is all ran by Afghans in Karachi.

Afghans in Karachi are a HUGE asset, In fact when I was in Karachi, I realized people used to say, "Afghans have money, Pathans from N.W.F.P are garbage pickers"

Little did they realize both are Pashtuns, and it boiled my heart when they used to bad mouth them

This is why I laugh at people in the west especially Pashtuns being so patriotic.

Go fix YOUR STATUS in your country and THEN BE patriotic.

          thumbs up for you.

the dedication and pride of a man who picks up garbage values nothing in comparison to a millioner's pride because he doesn't have the status? since when did that become a requirement?

Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Mr. or Mrs Swatthebrave, I am surprised you are being so defensive towards Pakistan considering it was her proud agencies and army who ravaged swat, not to mention tacitly supported the taliban there. It is an open secret in Pashtunkhwa and there are mnay people who say "Ye jo dehshathgardii hai, is ke peechae wardee hai." Anyways, I wanted to make that clear because it fits right into the turmoil of Afghanistan.

Afghanistan has many issues that are tied to the Soviet Afghan war. One of the key ones was that Affghanistan and pashtunkhwa as well are being used as a proxy zone, where each of the regional countries are medlling. Now it is very apparent in Afghanistan, where there is pakistan, NATO, Iran, India, etc all interfering in the country and have been playing a negative role there. Another problem with Afghanistan is the lack of any reconciliation and development taking place in the Pashtun areas, which has deeply alienated the population there. However, there are attempts at rectifying them, although I am skeptical about them.

Afghanistan has lost all its major insitutions, which are neccessary for a state to run, and therefore it is very fragile. Inshallah it will rebuild once again, and her neighbours can leave her alone. :-)

To be frank Samima has some fair points, not that Pashtuns west of the durand are any better. Pashtuns as a whole have a few people up in bureacracy but nothing really tangible that they can start being regional actors....they have a few celebrities, but again nothing really tangible.

That is exactly my point. I guess I rephrased it in a bad way. I am trying to say why are you so defensive of the army and pakistan's agencies role (i.e. why do you defend them?). Better yet in your introductory post, why did you ignore that? They are very guilty and have tacitly supported talibs in malakand division and Pashtunkhwa. Their role in Afghanistan was very destructive and as a result we Pashtuns are suffering. I hope I am clear.

What you mean where did I emerge from, I am Pashtun, This is a Pashtun Forums and I posting here
so basically, second class citizens should get a life instead of showing pride in their country until they have become rich enough to be considered sincere enough to have a valid point an opinion....well, YOU ARE WRONG.
