  • Women and Sport...

In general, across the world, people don't care so much about women's sports. Even women themselves. I mean you just have to compare the popularity of the World Cup to that of the Women's World Cup (apparently Japan won it in 2011...i'd be surprised if anyone knew about that, I certainly didn't) to see the disparity.

After reading about the recent success of the Afghanistan National Women's Football Team against Qatar, I was wondering:

Taking into account your religious/cultural values (or lack thereof),

    • Do you support such national sports teams for women?
    • Do you believe that it is not a woman's place to play sport at all?
    • Do you think it is okay as long as certain conditions are met (they wear full clothing or that they are coached only by other women or that their matches are private...etc)?
    • If you are a woman and you were talented at any sport, would you consider joining the national team?
    • Would you ever allow your sisters or daughters to publically participate in such sports, and if so, under what conditions (if any)?

I am interested to hear your views..

    I wouldn't join a...National...team.

    I wouldn't let...my sisters...join.

    If..i ever have a...daughter..(Inshallah)

    She wouldn't be...allowed..either.

    So plain...No.

I support it and will encourage my sister or daughter to participate if they had the talent or interest and I don't think their audiences should be limited to women only. They should be allowed to wear whatever they want as long as its not a safety risk on the field.

No one wants to be perceived as self righteous sense self righteous is a a derogatory term. There is a difference between righteous and self righteous.

You want me to forbid my child or sister from living her life to the fullest because men tend to be perverted sickos who pretend to be there for the game and are actually watching girls jump?? I didn't come to this country for pizza. I came here so I along with my siblings can enjoy our basic rights. (I don't know why the rest of you are here) I grew up in dire situations but I was never taught or encouraged to be ashamed of myself as a woman. Breast are there. They exist. Unless you make an attempt on purpose to highlight their existence, there is nothing that a woman should be ashamed of. I never said I will encourage them wearing revealing cloths. So I am not going to punish them for something that is not their fault.
And it's so good to see a good Muslim like you in today's time and age. I suppose you have a six inch long beard and have all the women forbidden from entering the gym while you are in the ring. Never in your life have you walked around in public in your shorts. Surely you are not just another hypocrite using Islam as an excuse to justify your own ****edupness. Alhamdulillah.

A woman's beauty should be only a secret between her husband and her.

Depends what you think living life to the fullest is, your definition to living life to the fullest seems to be disturbing. Ignorance is bliss but allowing your sister to strut her stuff as an excuse of exercising her human rights is a load of BS, what you think 90% of men are not going to notice your sisters ass when she chooses to put it on display with the consent of her sister that wears a scarf, if thats the case you and your family are a total joke. Thers a saying in pashto "when the pashtun saw the angrez jump on the horses back the pashtun jumped on the horses head" your a prime example of this you seem to be so desperate to live up to the angrez's way of life that you sacrifice your common sence and pourpously fool yourself to fit in. seriously i pity you. this post alone shows how much of a F**ked up person you are,
you wont encourage your sister to wear revealing clothes however youl encourage them to live their life to the fullest i.e wear revealing cloths if necessary LOL your a clown.

Im growing my beard not quite 6 inches long yet but soon, im not ashamed to be a muslim and i will never sell my identity just to fit in. what does your non existent european looking husband think of your views? please dont ever speak to me again i hate compulsive liars, imitators and attention seeking freaks like you.

there there manzareh, calm down. I never said they should wear revealing cloths if necessary. I don't know why else you are angry. I was asked for MY opinion regarding MY sister and daughter and I gave it. Where in quraan does it say that a man must show his ass in public and that a woman must not?? Please tell me because if there is such a thing mentioned in Islam then I have myself confused for something I am not.

Islam is based on two very things the Quran and the Sunnah (Tradition of the Prophet (pbuh)).
