Not really. Pashtuns are tribal. Tribal people have no sense of nationhood. Karzai calls Afghanistan and Pakistan conjoined twins, he says this because tribal people that live on the border do not recognize either Pakistan nor Afghanistan as nations. People that live on the border go with where their interests lie whether it is with Kabul or Islamabad but their loyalty is with neither. My own tribe lives on the border and when they go to FATA or the Peshawar valley, they refer to it as "cooz"-down and when they go to Paktia they call it "pas"-up. They are referring to altitude but they never call it Pakistan or Afghanistan.

Pashtuns are conservative but not religious fanatics or fascists. The fact that Tajiks or Uzbeks that live on Pashtun soil like Kandahar, Ghazni, Jalalabad and other cities were never attacked even though Tajik and Uzbek Nationalists have conducted violent campaigns against the pashtun civilian population in the North.

Todays Pashtun leaders and Tajik leaders in Kabul who are nationalistic have been brought to power on the shoulders of foreign armies and not the Afghan people. Hegemonic powers influence thrives when they create division among the people they want to influence. You are being brainwashed by such powers. If you spend your energy working against your neighbor rather than work with your neighbor, you are weakened and easily influenced.

Sher Shah Suri lamenting over the factious nature of his people, once remarked that that it was customary with one Afghan tribe to destroy the other if the former had four more men then the latter. (Tuhfa-Akbar-Shahi)

Drug dealing is simple business, nothing wrong with it. It's a black market someone will do it. It's likely you have to be ruthless in such fields (like all fields if I'm honest) and also likely that having warrior race skills (otherwise referred to as barbarism, or some such synonym) helps. Maybe that's why they're dominating right now.

This trouble stuff only happens when there's conflict. There was no trouble before Russians. After Russians in came Mujahideen who were then transformed to Taliban etc etc. Was this an issue pre-conflict?

What's happening in Afghanistan? There's tribal warfare? I thought they were trying to oust the govt?
        Greetings.

So you mean Pashtuns are ruthless warmonger animals with no human values? Honestly, I disagree.

There was a lot of trouble before Russians. Pashtun nationalists screwed our relationship with Pakistan. They used to send troops across the border. Pashtuns also supported chaos and turmoil in Pakistan. In Afghanistan Pashtun had control over army, media, economy and government. True Tajiks held high positions in those fields but it was because they have always made up the bulk of Afghanistan´s intelligentsia. Before war non Pashtuns did not count.

They don't recognize them as nation-states. Quite different things, brother.

Pashtuns have by far a stronger sense of nationhood than any other ethnic group in Afghanistan. There is no ethnic pride among Tajiks. Very few of us are proud of our ethnicity (actually many people in Western Afghanistan don't even consider themselves "Tajiks").

Crimes against Pashtuns in the north were committed due to Taliban crimes. Seems you guys want to forget/hide all the crimes committed by several Pashtun forces against non Pashtuns (non Pashtuns committed horrible crimes too, of course).

Honestly speaking I have no respect for Tajik leaders. Most of them are a bunch of corrupt bast*rds. Only Tajik politician I have some respect for is Amrullah Saleh. You are right we should work together in order to bring peace and harmony to our country.

I see the apposite happening. Pashtun are becoming more unified and are stiking up toghether more than ever. In the past PAshtun were not really connected with each other, but now I see that Pashtun are reaching out and are forming one front. Some due to all the wars and some due to the fascist and discriminatory atitude of tajiks in Afghanistan.
So thank you tajiks for making us more united, guess you were good for something.... LOL

And Kanishka posted how he hates Pashtun culture and not all Pashtun people....well our culture does need change and it is happening. I see a lot of young bright people, men and women educating themself and fighting for unity and stability in Pashtun areas.

And even with so much help from the west tajiks could not wipe out pashtuns, or pashtun culture and now we can only get stronger and our influence will reschape Afghanistan again, as it always did.

You are totaly disconencted with the current situation of Afghanistan and PAshtuns of today. What you discribe could be the case in the 60-80 of the 20th century but not today. Pashtun attitude have changed.

Wishful thinking. Afghanistan was highly dependent on Pakistan few years ago. Now there is a strong border between both countries. Pathans despise Afghanistan more than any other ethnic group in that country. Two decades ago most of Tajiks were pro Loy Awghanistan today very few of them are.

The thing is, Khostai, you are another good example of all this mess: you are always insulting and getting insulted by other Pashtun members on this forum. Just wonder why.

Its hilarious how a sold out Pashtun like yourself is trying to lecture the rest us about pride. I mean you are a White wannabe. You despise Pashtun culture and Pashtun identity and yet you dare to talk nonsense to other people. Embarrassing lol

The only people who hate me here are arabs, punjabis and retarded flat headed amu jumpers like you.
But you will always stay a fuc.kdousi, your retarded fantasy of wiping us out will never come true, you and your retards will know their rightfull place, being the servants of us Pashtuns.

Tajiks had the house negro status and Hazara the field negroe status, either way both of you were always used as cheap slaves and till this day you can not go pass that. LOL

So I take it you have no GCSE's? That's explains everything, go to an adult learning centre and try to get some. Maybe your posts will make sense afterwards.
Btw I'm at University so I know more about "real qualifications" then someone with no GCSE's.

You see? You proved me right. Pure frustration, hatred and insults.

BTW there is no need to wipe out Pashtuns. Pashtuns are unfortunately, the most miserable people walking the earth right now. I just pray for them to have a better life. A more stable and peaceful Pashtun community is good for all their neighbors.

                        Take care, brother.

No, I did not say that. There's no need to be disingenuous. I was praising the ability to be aggressive, and other skills a warrior race possesses. The "animals with no human values" is something you invented. There's no need for that... why attempt to spin my words? We're having an intellectual conversation, let's keep it civil.

Take the drug trade, for example. It takes a lot of difficult skills to grow drugs, export it, evade authority, fight against rivals (this business operates outside of the law, and so do the people within the business i.e. they take justice into their own hands). It's not a business limited to Pakhtuns only. Escobar was a drug lord, he was Columbian.

The stuff you're saying about pre-Russia sounds like it was discrimination, but not violence aggression that you're complaining about (at least not in the way of killing random people or some such thing). It also sounds like they didn't "hate each other", but hated outsiders. I'm not convinced there were much if any issues pre-Russia that warrants complaints about too much anger etc.

True. You are right. My apologize.

Never said "only Pashtuns are drug dealers and terrorists". There plenty of non Pashtun drug dealers all across the world. My point was why Pashtuns tend to get involved more in violence, drugs and anti-state activities. My own theory is that Pashtun culture promotes such behaviors.

There was discrimination but almost no violence. Most of non Pashtuns developed a strong sense of "Afghaniyat". Even today, after all these problems, most of Tajiks are proud Afghans (I personally dislike patriotism and nationalism, but at the end of the day I like my country). Anger toward Pashtun nationalism is not based only on "discrimination" but also wrong policies. Pashtuns have always poisoned politics in Afghanistan. Every single regime was hijacked by Pashtunists. Monarchy, Republic, Communism, Mujaheddeens, Taliban and now democracy..

Then it's just a matter of values. No doubt rebellious attitude and aggressive behavior is a part of who we are. I see it as a good thing. It just depends on how it's used. If it's used in just having fights with tribe #2, then it isn't as beneficial in 2016 as it would be in 1716. If it's used in politics or while becoming a professional then it can be beneficial.

The discrimination part sounds bad, but I think it's the same story anywhere there's a majority comfortably out numbering a minority. In Pakistan it's the opposite. Punjabis are discriminating against Pashtuns. Granted there are good ones, but there are many ones that make things challenging for us.

The thing is, Pashtuns are not "a majority comfortably out numbering a minority". Pashtun majority is a myth made up by Pashtun fascists in order to rule over the rest of the country. Its a lie. They claim to be majority but they never have conducted any proper or serious census. Just wonder why.

Afghanistan is a land of minorities. My point is that if discrimination toward non Pashtun wasn't that bad so current discrimination toward Pashtuns isn't bad either.
