Height varies from tribe to tribe. Pashtuns of peshawer valley are usually of medium height, some are very short. Khattaks are also of medium heights compared to their tall neighbours afridis, marwats and wazirs. Bannuchis are notorious for being short.
In my opinion yousafzais of malakand division have good heights compared to those of peshawer valley but they are shorter than those of FATA. Ghilzais are generally very well built. I dont know about durranis.
Also rural pashtuns are taller than urban ones.
I am 5'11 , elder brother is 5'9 while my younger brother is taller than both of us, he is 6'1". In desert marwats above 6 feet is average height, we are famous for our heights, but the marwats of agricultural lands who live near bannu are relatively short. Bhittanis are shorter than marwats but are generally more brawny than us. Wazirs and mehsuds are also very tall and like bhittanis they are more brawny....
I have observed that afghans are of good height but those urban pashtun with olive skins like tajiks are very short.

But I have to say that you are 3-4 inches taller than average Pashtun women (this one is not scientific, only my guess), which is normal, not quite tall.

I would say average is around 5.10" to 5.11"

I am 6.0", brother is 6.2" and dad is 6.1"

One of my uncles is 5.10" and the other is 6.1".

so above 6.0" is considered tall, 5.9" o 5.11" is medium and below 5.9" short.

Here's a random question... As a matter of scientific curiosity. Is a woman in general considered more attractive in pashtun culture for being tall or short? I mean I know that the strength of her virtue should be the most defining part of her beauty as it should be but secondary to that does height play a role?

From my own observation I would say tall and medium is preffered to short.
Ideal female beauty in my tribe would be fair skin (wheatish, white), big eyes (almond shape), rosey cheeks, thin nose, plump.

It depends on the woman, I would rather have light skin compared to a woman who looks like greasy rotisserie chicken, but A little color is nice.

Most of the guys in both sides of my family are 5'10-6'5. I am considered short some what at 5'11.
