But then, i dont think it should be okay if a guy has dated so many girls and then expects to marry a girl who has lowered her gaze and never dared to date.
i actually know someone who has dated so many girls, his family never cared and didnt care to say anything about it. Then they went to Afghanistan, brought a girl (a very sweet, innocent, good muslim girl) who married him. hmmm Not okay!
Id like to take some time out and apologize and take back my statements made earlier in this thread.
Please take my apology into considerating and i am rlly sorry for my childish remarks.
i shouldve explained my point more professionaly, sorry.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai
For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."
The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!
A sexy steamy, hot guy wants you to come over, you parents will never find out.
What will you say, answer honestly. I am shocked here.
This is not about the guys not being sexy and hot enough or parents finding out. This is about a girl's personal choice and her self-respect.
If a girl wants a hot and steamy guy, she'll find one.
If she's scared of her parents, she'll find a way to hide it.
If a person has a deep desire to date, TRUST me, he/she WILL.
This is about self-respect more than anything. My parents might not see me, society might never find out but Allah swt sees me, doesn't he? But I see myself, don't I? How will I give in to such a way of living my life and yet be able to respect myself?
People think that such a mindset is the result of having strict parents - no, not necessarily. You, in fact, can have very laid-back parents and still be very strict on yourself and that is the very key to a life led by principles: Being strict on yourself. If your parents are strict on you.. and you truly have a desire to do something.. you will do it with or without them finding out. If society is strict on you and you really wanna do something, you will do it and try to find a way to hide it. But if you are strict on yourself, you will not betray yourself and you will not go against your very own principles, values and moral understanding.
That being said, it's an audacity to even accuse our Pashtanas here (or dignified women anywhere) of living such a lifestyle or being shocked at the fact that we carry ourselves with honor.

I think girls take this too serious.
If you like the guy, Call it a day.
Not every guy is PERFECT on how to approach a girl, just like how girls cant approach guys.
This is not only about approach, wrora. This is about the very principle of the matter.
If he truly loves me, respects me, appreciates me, cares for me, wants to spend his life with me, why even expect me to make such an uncertain commitment such as dating? If he was serious enough about it, he'd strive to make it official, he'd strive to have some sort of certain "pact", such as an engagement, a nikkah, the involvement of family etc., he'd strive to make sure that this story is settled.
If that is not the case, yeah, he's gonna ask me to go watch a movie with him, gonna ask me to go shopping with him, gonna comment on this and that, compliment here and there, flirt a little not too much, all in hopes of me falling for him and ending up in a relationship - which is all fun and games until it breaks apart and you realize that it was nothing serious to begin with but rather "Sa'at-teray".
Men are emotionally weaker than women and therefore, tend to make more impulsive reactions in view of the light of society which is rather lenient towards men's mistakes and rather harsh when it comes to women's shortcomings.
So yes, for us it is a very serious matter viewing as our self-respect is influenced by it.
I never go after girls or trying to find a girlfriend .
For me its a waste of time and its not in my Culture to go after girls and date them...I try hard to stay away from these things.
