lol... why're you shocked, Yassir? :pOriginally posted by yassirA sexy steamy, hot guy wants you to come over, you parents will never find out.

I wouldn't (date) either. If a "hot, sexy" guy approached me and bluntly asked me out, I'd be offended. Absolutely offended. Simply because if he's worth me, he'll first figure out HOW to approach me, and that means respecting me by addressing me properly and holding decent conversations with me.
And what's with the fear of parents' finding out? Why would you disrespect your parents like that? ... I mean, it's one thing to sincerely love someone and not tell your parents because you know they'll not let you marry the person YET (and then discussing it with your parents properly when the time is right, or having the guy's parents ask for your hand from YOUR parents), but it's something else to deliberately date random folks and play with their lives without considering any potential harms being done to you, your family, and the person you're dating.
I don't know; maybe it works for some people, but it would never work for me, and I'm completely against it.

Re: have you had a boyfriend or girlfriend?
^ Yeah i can agree to that
either way, i am not going to approach a guy to date, not my thing. I dont see how its a shocker if a girl chooses not to date, aside from faith and/or culture.
Muslims are not the only ones who do not date, also many Mormans do not do it too.

But then, i dont think it should be okay if a guy has dated so many girls and then expects to marry a girl who has lowered her gaze and never dared to date.
i actually know someone who has dated so many girls, his family never cared and didnt care to say anything about it. Then they went to Afghanistan, brought a girl (a very sweet, innocent, good muslim girl) who married him. hmmm Not okay!

Re: have you had a boyfriend or girlfriend?
Um no not at all! My parents want someone back home for my brother.
my point is that its not okay to me that you can date and be azaad and then expect a nice decent spouse...going both ways with the gender...okay let me put it this way. I dont date, like i said in the post before, i do expect that my future husband to be the kind of guy thats decent and did not date like i did. Sure people make mistakes and everyone has a past. But i cannot marry someone who thought it was okay to have a girlfriend(s), and then expect to marry me....dunno thats how i feel about it.
Like living in a non Muslim country, I have more respect for someone who chose not to date.
but i do not mean to offend anyone who replied that they dated, thats just how i feel about it

MANY Muslims dateOriginally posted by Ms.FutureDoctor^ Yeah i can agree to that

Even when they don't believe it's allowed in Islam! lol.
Me, I don't date just 'cause I can't find a guy who meets my standards :p And I'm old enough to marry, so if I WERE to find one ever, I'd take a very short time to get to know him and all and then take it to the next level, which would be involving parents/elders.
OR ... have parents arrange it all, provided I'm absolutely ammmmmmmazed with the guy they choose for me (which will be a miracle, I swear! lol).
And, girrrrrrrrll, I SO agree that if a person has dated randomly and perhaps even slept around and then expects to marry a virgin :| This is VERY common with many males I know. They themselves will have been as wild as a man can get it and their first expectation for a potential marriage partner is: Virginity!
Makes me sick, really. Pakhpala che sa kawee, kawee, ao wai khaza me dasi nashi kawaley! (Translation: they themselves do whatever they want but won't let their future-wives do anything like that.)
