Please don't teach Islam to me. I am Muslim.I know alot about Islam than you think.(Both about Shia and Sunni) We believe that Allah(S.W.T) is all knowing and seeing. HE only can judge us. And I don't think if commited any sin by expressing my emotions to a girl.

That's right. That's what makes it so much better for someone like me traveling in these regions. It's difficult for Americans who don't understand this basic way to imagine, hence I always got so many dumb comments about the hazards i must have endured from being around these supposed "dangerous men" - !

In fact especially Pashtuns and Afghans, and too Iranians -- under the Islamic Republic that is -- were the best-behaved I've ever seen!

Western culture should take a leaf out of their book in this and other regards. Such as the admirably strict standards about young unmarried people.

Probably the entire downward spiral of US culture has been due to the dangerous practise of having girlfriends/boyfriends, living with them, never marrying, etc.

It completely ruined America to the core. Almost no one even thinks there's anything wrong with this type of life.

I urge everyone to stay with this old standard: never EVER be swayed by what "other people" - that means the devil! -are doing or saying.

It's difficult to be different but the dividends from staying with the RIGHT PATH are tremendous and worth every bit of embarrassment from the jeers of peers who live like usual Westerners.

The sexual revelution started with the pill. Once a way was found to prevent pregnancy, the norms changed. People in the west have slowly evolved into something where the traditional family is completely going extinct. The society is bombarded by the media with the image of sex, where everybody is thinking about nothing but sex. Casual sex, drinking, and smoking is the norm in western societies. When those people get married, they have become addicted to their lifestyles so much, they are unable to stay faithfull. Many of these people become so lost that they reenter religious life wheather muslim or christian. The christians say they are born again christians and the muslims believe that when they perform the hajj, all their sins are washed away. But the lifestyle they used to lead will still haunt them for the rest of their life.

It is better to stay away from these dangerious vices in the first place. Stay close to Islam and your culture. People assume they are missing something if they dont indulge in this practice. But it is like a drug, when one looks at a herion addict and see the lifestyle they are leading, one can come to a conclusion that nothing is avoided but misery.

You all gave really good insight into this, and it really puts a lot of stuff in perspective. Growing up, many Muslims around me began dating both Muslims and non-Muslims. I do remember in high school feeling a little awkward. Like am I abnormal, or are they? When you see so many Muslims begin to embrace this path, it is not good. Thanks Allah(swt) my parents told me these people had destroyed themselves, and I began to absorb my self into our Pashtun culture, learning everything I needed to know.

Hearing this coming from you guys makes me feel good about the way I have been.

It is very difficult to avoid the path the majority take in the society you live in. It can only be done if you realize the dangers in that path. Most people dont choose that path, they dont know any other path, because they have not been taught of another path.
Not having a girlfriend/boyfriend or even being a virgin in western society these days is taboo. People are more accepted of you if you are in a gay relationship then if you are no relationship. People assume that you are strange and cant be in a relationship. They laugh at others to make themselves feel better about their own confused lives.

They are in this Quest of true love because most of them dont have the love of their parents. Most parents are too busy with work or their own life to spend time with their kids and have a healthy relationship with their kids.
