I am not interventional. In the general fellowship you learn to drive in the cath lab... to be interventional you require an additional year beyond the general that I complete in a few months. Im going into heart failure.

No way. I refuse to believe that peds is the most competitive. You have IMGs making it into that field in the droves. It may be the most sought after field, but peds, internal med, and psych are the factory fields.

    This is probably more accurate:

    http://www.medliorate.com/2009/06/10...idencies-2009/

With psych, Int Med, and peds having a higher number of spots available.

Derm, Plastics, Orthopedics, Rad Onc, Diagnostic Rads, Opthalmology are probably the reigning most competitive withthe requirements of highest board scores, AOA, etc.

Now dont get me wrong, you gotta get to cards through IM, so my assumption that you are a doctor as well, would hardly make the above an insult to you as you would quickly catch the fact that in terms of:

IM = peds = psych in terms of difficulty getting into residency/board scores equivalency/etc.. That paradigm breaks down at the most competitive centers where its about as hard to get into JHopkins or Mass Gen Internal Med as it is to get into Ortho, Derm etc. The fellowship level competitiveness brings Cards, Plastics (in surgery) etc on par with the above competitive ROADS fields.

I think this probably meant in terms of entering the field or the most sought after or something:

However, I do agree with your general point that being a physician or specialist of any sort does not qualify one to make policy decisions or be referred to as a historical expert.

You arecaught too much in the web of caste and creed to be able to see, understand, rationalise, and generalise (as well as appreciate) what is external toyour ownn personal world (shaped by belief in the super-natural).
Probably, this is due to your training as a doctor. I may be wrong but my impression is, medical knowledge is not like mathematical, philosophical, etc. knowledge where rules, principles, laws, theorems, axioms, etc. coalesce into one grand/general truth (kind of meta-knowledge) to provide one a model/tool for explaining, interpreting, and understanding a whole range of phenomena and enable one to derive higher truth from existing system of rules. My hunch is, medical knowledge appears as a set of individual facts where every fact is separate from other facts and is to be learn't in its own right and that, individual facts don't merge into a one "whole" or a single system or grand truth (like a formula in mathematics or systems of equations in physics e.g. Newtonian Mechanics) . Therefore, in medical you cannot employ the kind of generalization as you do in other forms of knowledges.

I have met very few doctors with an intellect. For good intellect, you must be able generalise (abstract) as well specialise/concretise. Here on this forum Baygham and Gulalai (both doctors) were/are two individuals I find of higher intellect (whereas Gulalai has left Baygham is still here).

This is also common with most Islamists for whom history starts just 14 hundred years ago or the entire truth lies within their own ideological bounds.Simply being rhetorical wouldn't give you an intellectual edge or guide others to truth.

        Doctor Abdali!

This one here is a schizoid.

What a fool ....doctors don't generalize? If anything doctors generalize waaaaay tooo much. LOL. People are like cattle. When they increase in size they move like a herd of cattle. He is sooooo haapppy to have you acknowledge his existence. But he can't express how much he appreciates your appreciation so he has to disguise it but being cute like this. He is displacing the anxiety of being ostracized by his said "peers" so he hides it by expressing the opposite of this "true" feelings.
Notice how he firsts in****s all doctors but then towards the end, in retrospect, he mentions bayghairat and gulo as being the exception to his "concretized" formula for "intelligence"...so only because you are muslim he spits you other wise like he does chamchagery for bayghariat and gulo he would have done it for you too... if only your "external" beliefs didn't come in the way.

cognitive psychology is black box psychology. It's not really a "science" until it becomes about neurobehavioural psychology.

No need to call me doctor, I am your equal and your brother.

But yeah, its been forever since I had psych block in med school. However, if I remember correctly he demonstrates a defense mechanism called splitting:

            http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defence_mechanism
            http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Splitting_(psychology)

But he and Baygham Lala do this frequently. Basically, they have almost erected the Dar Al Harb and Dar al Islam concept, but in reverse and with the divisions being Dar Al Madrassah and Dar Al Casino/Fun Times. Anyone that advocates that the Afghans be allowed their indigenous existence is automatically a member/representative of DarAlMadrassah. The Americans that reason toward a security paradigm that recognized these wars are ridiculous and wars of attrition are in some fuzzy protected status sort of equivalent to the Ahle Kitaab status.... its sort of like they are protected but referred to as Ahle Casino.

The next level of splitting is with: Arabists and Nonarabists.

            Another level of splitting is:
everyone that agrees with us vs everyone that disagrees

From this follows (Toramana Wrorre does this, but it appears Baygham Lala has not yet demonstrated this trait):
Intelligent vs Unintelligent based on the agree or disagree sequence.

              on yeah

kind of like "double think" in the futuristic novel, 1984.
Where people are trained to keep two opposing and contradictory thoughts as part of their core beliefs...like "war is peace":

Doublethink: "The power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them....To tell deliberate lies while genuinely believing in them, to forget any fact that has become inconvenient, and then, when it becomes necessary again, to draw it back from oblivion for just so long as it is needed, to deny the existence of objective reality and all the while to take account of the reality which one denies — all this is indispensably necessary. Even in using the word doublethink it is necessary to exercise doublethink. For by using the word one admits that one is tampering with reality; by a fresh act of doublethink one erases this knowledge; and so on indefinitely, with the lie always one leap ahead of the truth"

I told Toramana the same thing as I'll tell you... you guys need to get married man. All this raw emotion and stuff will cool down with that step. Life is short and you need to at least find that element of happiness. Once you find that significant other you will see that this zwanaay jaush sort of deflates in you (though Toramana is beyond that time period and is an adult now). The world becomes a much happier place and you start to see it differently wrorre. Just a suggestion.

I did not get the connection but sounds like it is an important statement. Can I use it in future sermons, need your permission.

                        This is getting pathetic,
refusing and then posting the same source for preliminary data from a year earlier. What are you trying to prove. We get it, you must be smart to make it this far, congrats, that means nothing in other areas of life though, I will still take my car to a competent mechanic rather than ask you whats wrong with it. I will even prefer the Car talk guys to your advice.

I see zero logic in assuming that one needs to get married to accept Barakzai's ideology. Most of those who support your Pan-Islamist views, are 8/10 chance have blown themselves up, leaving their wifes as young widows or sat at home waiting for the end of times on the welfare system.

Uh Oh, another automaton, made in that Quetta factory by senor Achekzai with the little red cherry top hats. Lets see, how many Madhabi monsters do you see hiding under your bed? I wont repeat the same arguments with you as your team lost the ball buddy. Do your homework and read all the past posts.

No wonder you have a hard time interpreting data or making effective arguments. I guess this is why the forum is voting you least worthy Yusufzai compadre.
