I can see many faces in the above pictures. But they don't look completely alike. There's not a huge difference between the Pakistani Punjabi and the Indian Rajasthani, but they is a slight physical difference. There would be a bigger difference between the Pakistani Punjabi and the central Indian, and a much greater difference between the Punjabi and the South Indian.

are you sure i have been to dilli a lot of time'sOriginally posted by roadrunner View PostIndian Punjab was split into three areas. Delhi was a part of Indian Punjab. Therefore it's Punjab. Since the majority of people in Delhi speak Punjabi, then they are Punjabi. It is the same with Lahore anyway.
Delhi’s ethnic groups may be sub-divided into two categories, indigenous and migrant. The indigenous people are those who belong to the Delhi-middle Yamuna basin, a region which spreads radially from the capital up to a distance of approximately 200 kilometres.[1]The migrant population consists largely of Punjabis,[2] Bhojpuris and Biharis, Bengalis and Malayalis.[3]
The Ethnic Landscape in 1991
Since 1947, the native population has been consistently declining, while the population of the migrants has been rising precipitously.[9] At independence, after the Muslim colonists from medieval times departed for Pakistan, the indigenous people enjoyed a 95 per cent presence over their patrimonial lands. With the partition settlers flooding in, their proportion fell almost overnight to 55 per cent. Thereafter, it continued to decline steadily at a rate of about 3 per cent annually. In 1991 it stood at 43 per cent and today it may be only 37 per cent. Side by side, migrant numbers have grown systematically. Today, about 63 per cent of Delhi residents may be migrants from beyond the Delhi-middle Yamuna basin. Amongst migrants, Punjabis constitute a large group. They were about 24 per cent of the population of the union territory in 1991. Easterners, i.e. those from Awadh, Bhojpur and Bihar, are equally large in number and constituted about 22 per cent of the city in 1991; today, their numbers are likely to be between 25 and 30 per cent. Migrants from other parts of India are small in number, though those from Kerala are thought to be increasingly numerous.[10

I am trying very hard to educate you, so do read my post carefully.Originally posted by roadrunner View PostIndian Punjab was split into three areas. Delhi was a part of Indian Punjab. Though Haryana, the state that surrounds Delhi was a part of Punjab, the majority of the people there do not speak Punjabi. They speak a dialect of Hindi called Haryanvi. People like Sehwag, Saina Nehwal (originally) and Mallika Sherawat are Haryanvis.
The reason why people in Haryana didnt speak Punjabi inspite of being under undivided Punjab was because they were conquered by Punjabi Kingdoms. They were never really Punjabis to begin with.
And the reason why you still find a lot of Punjabis in Delhi is because many of them came after the partition as refugees. But still, hardly 25% of Delhi inhabitants would call Punjabi as their first language. You can check your beloved Google for those facts.
I hope you understood.

It's getting a bit irrelevant dont you think? In 1947 the Punjab was one region. That region included Delhi. Delhi became Indian Punjab, Lahore became pakistani Punjab. So for comparing Indian Punjab and Pakistani Punjab, these two locations are fine. If many in Delhi are not real Punjabis, then it doesn't matter, this will explain why Pakistani Punjab looks different to Indian Punjab.Originally posted by KhalsaWarrior View PostI am trying very hard to educate you, so do read my post carefully.

lol. Oh how foolish. Carefully selecting photos to suit your argument. You've even pulled out one of the Brahmin elite of India, supposedly the "whiter than white", and put in labourers and Muhajirs from what looks like Sindh. Let us ignore bias. This is a typical Indian upper class Brahmin Punjabi couple.Originally posted by MI6Punjabis Pakistanis in Lahore

I agree each ethnic group is different. Did i say they were not? However the Pashtun would be racially and language wise closer to the Punjabi than an Uttar Pradesh Indian.Originally posted by MI6Look roadrunner!
Pashtuns are not the same racially nor language wise as Punjabis,Sindhis or other Pakistanis.
Al Hind, you must think everyone is ignorant. Punjabis are lighter skinned than Gujeratis on average, who are lighter skinned than Bengalis, who are lighter skinned than Bangaloreans on average. Our Languages are not even the same, our culture is very much different and our facial features are very much different as well.
Our climates are different, our cuisine is different, our way of life is different.
For you to push this unrealistic non sense about Indians are not the same as Pakistanis and push all this fair skin non sense ignoring the fact that most Pakistanis are dark skinned dravid looking individuals, but its very much insulting to be pushing this gender with Pashtuns.
Pakistanis are lighter skinned than Indians on average. This is a fact. I'm not interested in whether this makes them superior (in my opinion it does not). I am simply spelling out a fact to you.
Some Pashtuns are dark, but on average they would be lighter skinned than Punjabis. This does not make them superior, it's just a fact that you seem to be in denial over. You will find alot of Pashtuns who are dark skinned, but they very much unique facial features which makes us different, every Pashtun has this ability to pick out who is Pashtun and who is a Punjabay and most of the time the dark skinned one always turns out to be a Pakistani Punjabay.
In Di Khan they have a term for this, Jat/Kwatanay, even if a Pashtun is dark skinned they would never call him/her, but they always reconise a Pakistani Punjabi or Sindhi by using this term.
