    just find out:

what is his tabar qom famili
where is his neeka, kornai, famili from.

usually enought to confirm pashtun or not.

    it is bloodline related.

if one is going to say where is his grand fathers grandfather's grandfather from, then one may as well accept we are all from adam and hawa (or from the african erect bipod - for the darwinian amongst us).

I dont understand why people have a hard time grasping this. It is not that hard to figure it. We live in a society according to what your father is. If your father is Pashtun, then yes, you are Pashtun by blood. Since he is Pashtun, his father is Pashtun and so forth. Obviously lineage is not the only thing, Pashtuns live according to a certain lifestyle and language as well.

thats fine and good for first gen halfsies like me who has a pashtun father. but what happens when a half pashtun from his father has a kid with a non pashtun, the kid would technically be 1/4 pashtun but still pashtun because of his dad. so that kid has a kid with a non pashtun, and since he is technically pashtun the kid will be pashtun even if he is only 1/8th and so on.

damn it there must be a limit!!!
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

it's one definition, and a lot of people are happy with it.

but logically, does it make any sense? not really. if someone just needs their father to be pashtun, then eventually there is no such thing as Pashtun by blood. That's because after a couple of generations they could end up looking like Gandhi, or Frank Bruno, or General Mao.

They might still observe Pashtunwali. Is it enough.

I do agree that it applies to all ethnic groups (which are daft ideas to begin with, even more so in the westernly definition of ethnicities).

Most of you are confused and are looking at this from a western perspective because western society is not Patriachal.

First pashtuns are tribal and patriachal.
              defintion of patriarchy:
Patriarchy is a social system in which the male gender role as the primary authority figure is central to social organization, and where fathers hold authority over women, children, and property. It implies the institutions of male rule and privilege, and entails female subordination. Many patriarchal societies are also patrilineal, meaning that property and title are inherited by the male lineage. The female equivalent is matriarchy.

There is no half this and half that in pashtun society. They only keep track of the Y chromosome and yes you could have a pashtun look like ghandi or General Moa because no matter what he looks like, he still have the Pashtun Y chromosome.

There are about 100 million south asians who claim Afgan ancestory, do they have the Y chromosome? maybe. They may have the genetics but they lack the mindset. In order to have the mindset, they must follow the pashtunwali code, so there are two factors.

Surely you joke. Western society is not patriarchial? Western society is amongst the most patriarchal in the world.

You must be naive enough to believe all that Hollywood stuff. Do you believe it's possible for John Rambo to spear an Mi-17 with his bow also?

What may I ask is the Pashtun Y-chromosome, genius?

You do realize it doesn't exist, don't you?

So Gandhi could be a Pashtun. Interesting

Please give us all some of your knowledge, oh fountain of wisdom.

I realize you are still as stupid as before and have not learned anything in the time you left this forum. Western society was patriachal in the past where males held all rights to property and freedoms including the beleif that women be regarded as property. Women are no longer considered legal property of men and can hold legal rights to property themselves. This beleif system spread from the teachings of Aristotle who beleived that men should rule over women and be regarded as property. When Aristotle first came to ancient Egypt, he was shocked that women attended bazaars and attended official meetings, attended courts and had legal rights to property. When Alexander(a pupil of Aristotle) invaded ancient Egypt, he changed the social structure.

Not only can John Rambo destroy a Mi 17 with an arrow but he can capture one with his bare hands.

Ghandi is no pashtun but a pashtun can look like ghandi or like the stupid guy in your avatar pic. Is that you?

                      What you describe is patrilineage.

Western society is very patriarchal all over. Men are in most positions of power with the token woman or some small ethnic participation.

Patriarchal society do not have to be patrilineal societies. Men can have different views on inheritance to conform to particular societies.

lol. i think it's you that needs to do the research.

You've given me links and labelled them as "Pashtun Y chromosome".

But none of your links say the identity of the Pashtun Y chromosome. Perhaps your genius self could point out what is the Pashtun Y chromosome?

I already defined it, your stupidity has blinded you from reading the defintion. reread the definition. Pashtun society is patrilineal, everything is inherited by men. Western society is moving away from patriachal, look at yourself, no one used to say I am half this and 1/4 that, they say it today though. You think the queen of england is 100% English, she is probably less than 1/100 english when you calculate it the way your mentality has been shaped.

Western society is highly patriarchal. It always has been, and still is. Women do have extra rights in the highly patriarchal society, but it's still a patriarchal society. The concept of the traditional family still exists and though there are variations of it, in many places in the west, them man is still seen as head of the household even though it may not be politically correct to acknowledge such.
