A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Just because they were not discovered doesn't mean they did not exist. And since they were unaware of the obvious, your assumptions don't carry weight. It's not like these TRILLIONS worth of resources fell from the sky. They were always there, and given Afghanistans population, the potential is huge.

On that i agree with you.. but natural resources of Pakistan are more than enough for 180 million pakistan.. Coal of tharparkar is just worth 16 trillion dollars, if this coal is used for generating electrcity, then for 600 hundred years contineous elecricty can be provided to pakistan without single minute of lead shedding.

            Luffy Khan,
No body is denying that. I have never claimed, nor will say, that Pakistan's resources isn't enough. However, I am glad that you agree that Afghansitan's resources is more than enough to stabilize Afghanistan, and the nation isn't just 'dirt'. I, for one, will never allude to something I can't back up, and clearly I never questioned Pakistan's resources. All AFPAK need is a stable, non-corrupt government. Pakistan and Afghanistan both have a great potential, and they depend on EACH other. Pakistan needs Afghanistan to access central Asia, and Afghanistan needs Pakistan for sea-access.

In ancient times compared to these lithium, copper and chromite resources, agricultural revenue was more important on which rulers used to impose tax. Afghanistan was unfortunately not an agricultural country, so from mehmud ghaznavi to ahmad shah abdali all have invaded india for loot to sustain their economies. East india company and mughals were generating lot of revenue from india, afghanistan was unimportant for them.

Your history is very hazy. All those nations were/are defeated

Afghans in fact ruled much of Persia and India in response to their interference

I think the history hurts for you because the history is constantly being made

Soviet empire collapsed after being defeated in Afghanistan, and unless you live in an alternate reality, history is repeating itself

Buddy, and if you think China is going to be the next foreign war and occupation you will latch onto, then you are in for a disappointment

Buddy, China spreads it's influence through trade- soft power

They are not interested in waging wars against others when all they have to do is have mutual trade relations

Statistics can be very manipulative. They might look handsome on paper, but the reality could be far from different. For example, one might tout that Afghanistan has a lower literacy rate than Pakistan -- but the truth is Pakistan has more illiterate, and more people than the Afghanistan population x ~1.5-2.

Both are neighbors, and they should not be working against each other. Luffy, you know me well enough to know that I will criticize Afghanistan or Pakistan if I see something wrong being done. It is constructive criticism which brings change.

Again, you can claim, in your opinion, that Afghanistan is unimportant. That's your opinion, and you are entitled to it. However, you have no right(unless backed by authorative sources)to state Afghanistan is useless based on XYZ empires perspective. That, my friend, is where the problem arises. I can't sit here behind a keyboard and type that "Members of the Hotak dynasty burned Isfahan because they got tired of burning Karachi". For me to make that bold claim, I'd have to provide evidence. Let's not associate our opinions with past leaders, unless we have concrete evidence to back it up.

I dont agree, afghanistan is more dependant on pakistan than vice-versa. Blockade of nato supplies for few weeks caused the increased of price of petrol in afghanistan from 50 to 5 thousand rupees. If compeletly seal all kind of transport and supply across durand. You people have to then shift towards arrogant and racist iranis.. Afghanistan can not survive without pakistan.

                          Luffy, you said this:

when from east india company or mughals point of view afghanistan was a useless area as revenue from this area was negligible.
The statement above, without evidence, is equivalent to "Thomas Jefferson was born in Lakki Marwat, and he left Lakki Marwat because he realized it's useless and there is no room for growth".

The above, requires evidence since those are some serious alleged claims. You may, however, state your opinion as long as you want, albeit under your own title not past leaders

Also, karzai and his illegal government which supports foreign occupation is not the legal representative of Afghanistan

Afghanistan wI'll be strong once it is free and independent

Pakistans interference and hindrance of Afghanistans independence is due only to its support for the US war

The end of this interference would then be a must for a free and independent Afghanistan
