This is ashokas inscription from Kandahar, afghanistan:

If these maps have some worth than you should know that thay are not 100% accurate maps but the the ACCRUTE IS THE MAP OF INDIA UNDER US I MEAN THE MUSLIMS, PASHTUNS, MUGHALS.
I know you cant forget that and just remember. Because it is very bitter to live in slavery always when you have no abilities to mange the government issues.
Building the Budha statue is history but destroying the statue is Current Reality. We are not tired baby we are still here, poor SANSKIRT.

Recognize also the facts that modern Pakhtusn are different than the people of ancient days. Modern Pakhtuns have also non-Pakhtun tribes and people as ancestors who invaded our region the last 1000years and earlier. Jews, Arabs, Lodi, Khalji, Indians and many more.
Sanskrit was spoken in north western pakistan, infact rig Veda mentions places like Swat, Peshawar etc... even the first grammarian of Sanskrit ( Pāṇini ) was from Peshawar http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P%C4%81%E1%B9%87ini

^ Sanskrit started is some where of northern pakistan/Kashmir/Punjab area then spread in to rest of northern india. (kashmiri) is thought to be the closes language to Sanskrit even today

not entire india, obviously history of eastern india and south india is not really similar to afghanistan, but western and northern areas of (ancient India) have historical similarities with afghanistan, areas like Punjab/Sindh, Delhi, Himachal, Rajhastan etc...

Since Pashtuns are made up of different confederations through time, there may have been quite a few different religions.

One was probably similar to Zoroastrianism, but a Saka version of it. In Bactria, the local inhabitants would feed their feeble, old, and dead to the dogs and vultures.

The Tocharians had their own Gods, and probably shared similarities with the Huns. They adopted Buddhism and spread it across Asia.

The Hephtalites differed from the Persians, but also from the Huns. There are reports that they worshiped the sun and buried their dead, and practiced polyandry. They later adopted Hinduism and Buddhism.

When the Turkic Ghaznavids were invading South Asia, they had armies of converted Afghans, but also got in battles with Afghans who were fighting alongside the Hindu kings. The Khalaj (Ghaljay) were considered Turkic and probably shared the same religion with the Oghuz and other Turks. In historical texts that I've read, Afghans were distinguished from the Hindus, and some were grouped among the Hindus. So even among Afghans at that time, there may have been different religions.

Well there are different pashtun sects. I myself am from the khattak pashtuns.
And the khattaks and Yusufzai are descendents of the 2 sons of Joseph (Ephraim and Manasseh) according to this link : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khattak
The Khattak came from the son of Manasseh and the Yusufazai came from Ephraim.
But these are not the muslim variations of the names. They are called this by the non-muslims. For example, Joseph means Yusuf for muslims, that is why the Yusufzai are called Yusuf Zai (sons of Yusuf)

No Joseph is the English variation of the Hebrew name Yosef `God Will Increase`. Yusuf يوسف is merely the Arabic form of the same name. However it is a Hebrew name.
