    Thanks for the warm welcome.

Yeah, I need literature on him, if you can point me the links or post here, do as it's better to you. See... I really need your critic sense. Being a Pashtun and living this reality, your opinion and critical sense in choosing the texts is already half the way I have to go.
First of all, welcome to the forum. Second of all, do you want the material in english or pashto, or either of them are ok?

Knowing that my country is probably the most brave country on earth. we have defeated countries no one has been capable of defeating. Knowing my country is known as the "Graveyard of empires"

I am quite confused about this Picture, why isnt the Arabs and Punjabis added to it, oh wait, we already accepted their rule with open arms.

LOL yeah my father's grandfather came from Arghandab to work in Laghman. Then he bought land, held a position in the government for Laghman. My grandfather was born in Laghman, lived there and is even buried there. Though my great grandfather was sent back to Arghandab to get buried. All my uncles and aunts were born and raised in Kandahar. Except my father, he is the youngest son and second to the youngest child. So him and his youngest sister were born and raised in Laghman.

            BLS... THAT's a nickname!

English. Or French. Italian too. Maybe German. No Pashtu or Urdu :D Sorry, I'm an illiterate!

And waiting now. Thanks in advance.

I'm afraid I've wasted my brain with some already, Shlombay. I'd need presential classes to finally learn Pashtu. Believe me, it was not that I didn't try.

And yes, I do have too many questions. Too many of them are personal. If no one will complain of this forum becoming a chit chat thing, I would feel better. But, apparently, some people would come and say I've wasted the thread by talking.......

Thank you, Rihana, that's so sweet of you. In this case, I will start asking questions.. the first being, if it's possible to everyone say where they're from and where they'd be now, cause that would make it easier for me to identify everyone. I'm still mixing many names, because there's a lot of people around... (I confess, getting used to the forum takes me time)

Yeah, you could expand the list... Now, I would like to know of all of you where you live now, if that's ok. I see that many are from Kandahar, though, living in other countries... it would give me a better understanding of you if I knew whether you're still in Afghanistan or somewhere else. But, mainly, what I would like to know is what makes you so proud of being Afghans. I would also pass on the obvious answers to this one. :D

Hi, Maseed, "already" because...? Does it intend to accept other's rulings later on?

Ahmad Shah Baba is the founder of modern Afghanistan. He also worked on unifying Pashtun tribes. I am pretty sure 99.9% would choose Ahmad Shah Baba.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

                            -Ferishta, 1560–1620

We love him. We respect him. He was the best Pashtun leader we ever had. He built the best empire of his time.
