Mirza Ali Khan is a legend for all patriotic Pashtuns including those who are spritually enlightened as well.
Mirza Ali Khan was disowned by So called Nationalists who followed the ideology of Ghandi Ahem ANP.
He pleaded to all Pashtuns to raise up with arms and demand a Pashtunistan from Pakistan, but Sadly, Pashtuns opposed and were bribed by the Pakistani state with money and land.
Afghanistan which suppose to be the land of Pashtuns, as usual also betrayed him on pressure from the Soviets, the only supporters of his, were the germans and italians as they wanted to get back at the British, My grandmother told me, that she can remmber German Military Officers were in Waziristan and were very highly respected by the Tribesmen.
Sadly again, Pashtuns were heavily influenced by the Bacha Khan's etc and they opposed any struggle that had guns and fighting involved, they betrayed Mirza Ali Khan, and due to them we Pashtuns are in this state.
Mirza Ali Khan, was first supported by the Dawars of Mir Ali, the village that protected him was called Ipi, thats why he is called the faqir of ipi, he was a holy man, a person of relgionous background, but had a standard level of Nationalism in him, which can be seen by his media outlet at the time, that was called Azad Pukhtun Newspaper.
I am trying my best to see if i can get hold of such new papers of the time from a friend i have in Waziristan, and maybe when i get it, i will put it onto scanner and publicse it.
