Show me where I said Pashtuns were definitely Bactrian for a fact, I didn't. You're the one that thinks there's just no way at all Pashtuns could have been Bactrian by calling my statements far-fetched despite knowing very little about people from Arachosia.

Indeed I do. Bactrian, Soghdian, Persian, Parthian and Turkic ancestry. Persians did not impose on us Persian culture. It was the native people of Khorasan who adopted, revived and saved that culture. It was our ancestors.Originally posted by Aryana View PostSo now you're claiming that Tajiks have Bactrian and Persian ancestry
. The real Persians treat you little better than slaves, Farsi was imposed on you people. I actually don't hate Tajiks, I feel sorry for them. They have lost their culture and language, so they try to adopt another one and yet they fail at it. Go to Iran and look at how they will you as a """"""""Persian"""""""""" brother.
Well like many Heratis I have lived in Mashad for a time. Some Iranians were nice people others were disgusting. I must say I rather prefer Southern Iranians from Shiraz, Bandar Abbas,.. and so on. I don't like too much Tehranis. Actually nobody likes them in Iran lol. I also like people living near to Herat: Fariman, Taybad, Torbat-e Jam, Birjan and Neyshabur. I have been to these cities and I was glad to see that most of them spoke with Herati accent, they wore typical Herati white turban and were Sunni Hanefis like us.
Relationship with Iran was bad but I must say I am starting to see its getting better. I see now more and more Afghan Tajiks, Tajikisanis and Iranians working together. I have collaborated with several foundations for Persianspeakers in Europe and most of our members were Iranian and Afghan Persians. It was great to work shoulder by shoulder with my brothers in order to bring glory to my culture."For thirty years, I endured much pain and strife,

BTW you should fell sad for your own Pashtun people. Pashtuns are the most wretched and poor people in the world. You live in a perpetual state of misery. We Tajiks are more than happy with our identity and we will become a tolerant and progressive society in a matter of few decades. I just pity you Pashtuns. You guys still burning down your own schools, killing your own people and oppressing your women and kids. Sad.Originally posted by Aryana View PostSo now you're claiming that Tajiks have Bactrian and Persian ancestry

Honestly anyone with little common sense knows this is load of BS. Baluchistan region never supported large population and there is a reason for that. Forget about cities getting destroyed without leaving any trace when we have example of Mehergarh being oldest IVC site dating back to 7000-9000 years.Originally posted by Afghanfootball View Postarticle on Sakzai:
Seistan: Cradle of Ancient Culture
Abdul Hai Habibi
Thousands of years ago a group of people came to the land of the great and mighty southern rivers of present day Seistan. These people were the Saks, whose progeny, under the name of Sakzai, still live along the banks of the Helmand River.
The Saks were a brave and robust people. The land where they settled came to be known as Sakistan which was Arabized as Sajistan and later it became Seistan. Arab conquerors called the people of Seistan Sajzi, which is the Arabized form of Sakzai. The Sakzai still live in this area, as far as the western parts of Kandahar and Bost. They are a tall and lanky people with a tanned complexion and speak the Pashto language. They are considered to be a part of the great Durrani tribe. The Sakzai built mighty civilizations and large cities and formed an effective system of government in this land.
The Seistan wetland covers an area of about 150,000 square miles into which four rivers, the Helmand, Khash Rud, Farah Rud and Harut Rud empty. To the south of this wetland lies the Gaud-e Zerreh, another marshy wetland. The desert in between covers an area of roughly 150 by 100 miles. The Farah Rud composed the northern boundary of this parcel of land where Peshawaran and Takht-e Rustam are located. Dasht-e Zerreh forms the southern boundary of this area. Remnants of ancient civilizations are evident in every direction of this vast land. Thousands of mounds and remains of ancient fortresses are seen here that have been destroyed by weathering turning this great civilization into an abode of insects and reptiles. Millions of ancient relics are buried under the rubble of the great cities of Seistan. It is not clear what led to the destruction of these cities. The area with hundreds of thousands inhabitants was one of the most important center of civilization in Asia. Zaranj, the major city of Sakistan, rivaled with Baghdad at the time. No one now lives in ancient Zaranj and the area has turned into a jungle of reeds.
Sakistan was the home of great heroes, kings, scholars and establishers of new religions. Under the rubble of each fallen wall countless cultural relics are hidden. The legendary heroes, Rustam and Yakub were raised in this land. Sajistanians, the inhabitants of this land, played a major role in the development of Islamic sciences and were the founders of the respected Seistan religion. Early Dari (Persian) poets recited their poetry in the court of Yakub Safari in Zaranj and an important part of the odes of Shahnama (Book of Kings) is composed from the fables of Seistan. The most ancient Persian book of prose, Keshf-al-Majoob, was written with Seistani penmanship. Members of the social group of this land, known as Ayaran, formed political and social groups and they gave rise to leaders such as Yakub and Omar, whose fame spread as far as Baghdad and Damascus.
Unfortunately, this cradle of civilization was completely obliterated. Its population was decimated by the Mongol hordes to the extent that when the Englishman, Sir Goldsmith, visited the area in 1872 he reported there were only 45,000 people residing in this vast stretch of land. Thirty years later while Sir MacMohan was delineating the Afghan-Iranian border, according to Tate, the total population of the area was 161,000 people only. You have? Can you show ACADEMICALLY PEER REVIEWED Sources from qualified researchers, that are widely accepted in this field?Originally posted by Aryana View PostThis is a discussion on the origin of Pashto and Pashtuns. We're discussing this possibility, and I have given evidences for my opinion.
Sure we can say "it's possible" but what about likelihood?
Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

The main thing i observe with the "Pashto antiquity" arguments is that most of their advocates seem to be VERY IDEOLOGICALLY driven. And being so suggests that they have a great deal of what's called Confirmation Bias. There's a great deal of cherry picking going on in this thread and weak associations. Something like this would be shunned the academic community and would severely damage the credbility of such claims.
if you want your arguments to be taken seriously by learned people. Start doing things with appropriate rigor and keep the mudslinging and name calling out.
Imagine if real scholars did such a thing, we'd get no where.Last edited by Iblis_Efreetzai; 04-22-2016, 02:31 PM.

Of course the relationship is getting better, there are more and more pan-Iranists or pan-Persian supporters.
Bring glory to your culture? Beside bacha bazi of course, what culture do you chinky Mongols have that wasn't stolen off Iranians?
Let me get to real history now. God knows what Tajiks were before the advent of Islam but I'll start at the advent of Islam. When the Arabs invaded Persia, some of the Persian leaders fled to Central Asia. There, they imposed their Persian culture on the people, who were Tajiks. This shows that Tajiks are just Persian-speaking people and not Persians. Just because someone speaks English and adapts English culture doesn't make him an Anglo-Saxon. Now after this, the Mongol armies started invading. Because of the controversy with the Khorezmian (Persian) rulers, they completely obliterated the land, and raped a lot of people in what is now Tajikistan. This intermixing led to the chinky-Mongol look that most Tajiks have. After countless invasions, their weak culture and faith began to show. Russians invaded your Tajikistan and look where they are at now; thank the Pashtuns for protecting you, otherwise your name would be Vladimir and you would've been speaking Russian. That is the story of Tajiks, you aren't Persian.Last edited by Aryana; 04-22-2016, 08:15 PM."If a lion comes and takes your share, go get it back from the mouth of the lion"

I also love how the Persian **** sucking trolls are always like "One day we'll have our Khorasan". ****ing dumb asses don't realize Khorasan extended up to the Indus river. Also that about half of Khorasan wasn't even farsi speaking.
Out of all the regions
Ghor did not speak Persian (Pashto or some East Aryan Language)
Zabulistan did not speak Persian (Pashto)
Kabulistan did not speak Persian (Sanskrit)
Kapisa did not speak Persian (possibly a mix of Pashto, Nuristani, Gandhari, and dardic languages)
Badakhshan spoke Pamiri languages
Only Areas that may have spoken Persian were
Balkh, Herat, Seistan, Sogdia, Mashad
So I really don't get why pan iranist cling on to this Khorasan dream. It not like it would be unfair to us XDLast edited by Afghanfootball; 04-22-2016, 10:29 PM.

Tajiks mainly got Persianized under the Saffirids and Samanids. They spoke East Iranian languages before (except for maybe Herat).Originally posted by Aryana View PostDo whatever you Tajiks want, the truth is you're little more than Persian-speaking chinky Mongols. The Khwarezmians were an independent East Iranian ethnic group like the Bactrians were and mainly lived in Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. West Tajikistan used to be Sogdian, the Yaghnobi language there is directly descended from Sogdian. Some Tajikistanis mixed with Karluk Turks under the Kara-Khanid Khanate after the Karluk Turks overthrew the Samanid Empire.

Honestly after witnessing all this hatred for Tajiks among so many Pashtuns I am starting to feel some more sympathy for partition. I did not know you guys hated us so much. Its good to know this. Never liked Tajik nationalism but I am starting to see their point. Seems coexistence with you guys is becoming unbearable.Originally posted by Aryana View PostDo whatever you Tajiks want, the truth is you're little more than Persian-speaking chinky Mongols. BTW Tajikistan is like two centuries ahead of Pashtuns. Don't look down on them. Pashtuns are in no position to judge anyone.
Pashtuns are Pashtun´s main enemy. You guys can blame it on us but truth is those who are killing you on a daily basis are your own Pashtun brothers. Not that I care so much. As long as you guys don't bring your tribalism into our regions I find it cool.

Since the Achaemenid empire Farsi has been lingua franca in the eastern provinces. Just look at our brave ancestors Bessus, Satibarzanes or Spitamenes: they were true Persian patriots and they fought more and better than their brothers from Persis or Media. Farsi wasn't alien to Khorasan prior to islamic invasion.Originally posted by Firdousi View PostWow man you are so bad mannered. Your parents failed badly to teach you good manners lol
