Take it with a big grain of salt but thats the truth Gulalaey.
Wearing a Hijab is not a solution. Wearing Burqa is not a solution even. I have seen burqa-clad women to be touched blatantly under the open sky by random guys in my native town. I have seen NY-style girls (going by your description) standing in subway trains close to random guys but still not harassed by them. What is the reason for this disparity?

See, Shlombay, this shows that you indeed are a good boy.
If you truly were a bad boy.. you would flirt with a girl no matter if she is wearing a Hijab or not. If a man is behaya enough to flirt with a woman, a hijab is not gonna make him stop, if the girl is pretty enough.

                      • The main point that Muslim sisters have to bear in mind, those sisters who want to get closer to the their Creator. As for the others, you can ignore my post:

You have to follow the instructions of the One Who has Created you. Period. With the completion of religion, i.e. Islam, Allah Ta'ala has laid down everything that a man and a woman should do in order to get closer to Him.

For a woman to protect her dignity, she is advised to cover herself and not to beautify herself in public. Also, that she should not degrade herself by responding to the ignorant.

That is what you should do.

If something is getting serious, then report it to authorities, whoever that may be. Tell your brother, father, someone who can talk to the ignorant on your behalf. Don't do it yourself. If you are going to respond because you don't want any problems then say this: I fear Allah, please leave me alone.

Now, please keep in mind, that if a man refuses to be decent then it does not mean that you should stoop to his level. He will simply drag you lower in your spiritual climb. If he had any decency he would not have said anything in the first place.

I totally disagree that a woman should talk back in a vile manner. Life is not forever. At the end of the day worry about your spirituality. A woman talking back to an indecent man is not going to change him.
Islam will prevail, a promise made by the Creator of this universe:

[61:8] They desire to extinguish the light of Allah with the breath of their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, even if the disbelievers hate it.

[61:9] He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the Religion of truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religions, even if those who associate partners with God hate it.

image if they wasn't wearing one, Atleast all they can see is her hands and feets and thats it...if they wasn't wearing one then there would have been problems.
