Historically Tajiks were seen as a subordinate culture ....like a hamsaya.

Smarty, Most Pak Pasthuns are mixed and a lot of them are Pasthunized due to adopting Pashto from Pashtun migrants from Afg who ventured off into Pakistan some 1,000 years ago. That's why a lot of Paki Pathans look mixed compared to their Afghan counterparts. And a Pashtun can only be Pashtun if he belongs to a tribe, not by speaking the language. This has been generally agreed by people on this forum.

Its weird how you and de banu spai always bash farsiwans who have more pride in their Afghanyat than a Pashtun from KPK who sells himself to a Pashtun killing state like Pakistan.

What makes a Pashtun a Pashtun?

So we all have consensus on belonging to the tribe as being important. In my experience behavior would be slightly more important than language, because language can be learnt (and forgotten), but behavior is what people will remember. It reminds me of what Ghani Khan once wrote in his book, "The Pathans" - "The coward also dies but his screams are long remembered."

After all it was Pashtun behavior that have made them famous. Sadly I have seen Pashtuns who belong to the recognized tribes, speak Pashto but behave like non-Pashtuns.

If some one speaks Pashto, belongs to one of the tribe and live in the Pashtun society.....he will definitively have a Pashtun behaviour, unconsciously. Our Pashto is not just language, its heritage and imparts a character, keep in mind the proper word for Pashtunwali is "Pashto"......."You dont have Pashto in you", means you are lacking in Pashtunwali.

About Pashtun mannerisms, there used to be gatherings in our villages, which we call chowk in our area, in which there used to be "majlas" and youngsters would learn from elders about lot of things like way of speaking, folk stories, mannerisms etc. With increasing urbanization, this trend is fading away. Our "Pashto" is preserved in rural belt, urbanites dont follow Pashto even though they may be speaking it. The younger and modren generation is getting Pashto-less day by day.

Oh i just remember you are also a farsiwan like Afghanfootball. Afghanistani nationalism is one thing, being Pashtun is different matter. You Afghans (proper as well as persianized) of diaspora are living in delusions and have strange definitions for Pashtuns. At the end of the day Pashtun is ethnic plus linguistic identity, rest of the criteria are the principles and levels of Pashtun-ness. A bengali affiliating himself with the cause of Pashtuns, fighting for it, is still a Bengali, there is no such thing as "honourary Pashtun, its not knighthood. Same principle applies on you and Afghanfootball.

The identity and survival of Pashtuns is not tied to Afghanistan or Pakistan, the -stans. Your state was founded by Ahamd Shah Durrani whose father from Herat competed against rival Kandahar under Hotak rule. His tribe joined Nadir Shah Afshar in bringing down the first native state founded on the basis of Pashtun nationalism. Yusufzais refused submission to Durrani monarchs and they were not bothered. For greater good of Pashtun qaum, Durranis should have accepted Hotaki rule, they didnt. Yusufzais should have participated in Durrani empire, they didnt........still it doesnt make them less of Pashtuns. Its called division and disunity, different priorities and ideologies. No matter how much you make "Afghaniyat" and other noises, your identity wont change, you are just activist.

Likely some moved from south and others from north. In ancient times all moved from south to north. Anyway I have noticed Afghanis love to comment about Paki pakhtuns looks to disprove their pakhtuniyat, we get it already. This is repeated in every thread. It didn't matter when all those pashtuns were being assimilated back then and doesn't matter now. Most afghanis show chenghez khan, does it matter or they stop being pashtuns? Not really.

Ghulkhor like football or this prince has never been to Afghanistan or pakistan and are randomly passing comments without having knowledge of the ground realities.

i am currently into more research about ghulkhor and if time permit me will get in contact with my irani friends to confirm the exact reason of them being made ghulkhor.

Football ADMITS he's mixed with ARABIC Sayyid blood, from his FATHER's side, which makes him a NON-Pashtun, since Pashtun nisbah is through the paternal side.

                    Kushy is a Tajik hamsaya.

What credibility do they have speaking who's pure and who's not?

I get along with a lot of people, I'm generally a people's person, my job requires me to be. However there's something about afghan farsibaan that I can't stand (Pashtun farsibaan also), most i come across have this peculiar arrogance to them, very rude and instantaneously feel threatened by me for no reason. Not sure whether it's my size that makes them feel uncomfortable or the fact that they feel they constantly have something to prove. It's a very strange ora. The KP Pashtuns p*ss me off with their desi traits but they are much happier, respectable on a whole more people like them they have a lot more diverse friends, the afghans seem to only stick with each other.

KP Pashtuns are perhaps the most literate and wealthy Pashtun community compared to the pashtuns living in FATA or Afghanistan.

                          With Money,People changes.

The Pashtuns of FATA are more loyal, hospitable and sincere.

He is from Swat, i would be surprised if he is not offended by your latest non-sense, you also brought looks and race of malala of swat into it.

You are exactly talking in the manner and tone of Khorasani nationalists and Tajikam. When Mirwais Hotak visited the persian court, he saw people like you, feminine and degenerated, he realized Afghans can rather easily overcome Persians.

In Mughal empire, Pashtuns were mostly in the army or were military governors while Persians and Tajiks were either in pleasure houses, debaucheries or were court creatures with no involvement in martial affairs at all. In entire history of India, Persians founded only one state in India, Awadh, and its capital lucknow became paradise of prostitution , the "tawaif-khanay", the bazaar-e-husan". Its rulers were sexual perverts, one Asif-ud-daula would get penetrated by other men. Persian and Farsiwan women were imported from Northern Afghanistan and Iran to these bazar-e-husan of Lucknow.
