What makes a Pashtun a Pashtun?

What makes a Pashtun and Pashtun - let me start...I would say it's belonging to a Pashtun tribe and behavior. i.e. following Pashtunwali - and Pashtunwali means not only revenge, hospitality, and giving asylum, but other values like being honest, being a true friend, being loyal, brave, keeping your promise, not hurting a person's feeling, showing people respect, sticking up for the weak, being chivalrous, being magnanimous etc. the good things you would expect a person of honour to possess.

If you have Pashtun blood then you are Pashtun. Unless you are Porki then you are a Porki Pathan. Though Pashtuns on the other side of the Durand line that act like Pashtun and don't support Porki killing of Pashtuns they are Pashtun too.

Pashtun blood, full or quarter of it, is not enough. The one with lineage as well as Pashto language is Pashtun, while Pashtun-wali is plus point and indicate that you are brought up in a Pashtun society.

The ones whose mother tongue is either Farsi or urdu, are not Pashtuns, they can only use word Pathan for themselves. For example you are not a Pashtun but a Farsiwan.

1)I can recall atleast 6 generations of my family and one after one they are pashtuns concentrated within three region(Khost,Waziristan,Bannu)

2) Pashto is my first language and the city i live in has atleast 98% People of Pashtun origin

3)I look like a typical Pashtun

But now a Ghulkhaar who can't even speak pashto and look like a typical ghulkhar with mongoloid features because of mongolian invasion and rapes tells me to not call myself a Pashtun.
