A good answer would be appreciated by everyone here.
the ahadith about forced marriage not being allowed in Islam are from aysha ra. Read the article I posted in this regard.
She is not raising a good point. She is just using the same technic islam bashers use to attack Islam. I know people who teach this at our local university. She is just a student. I know people who author the books she must read to pass her courses.
again, more filth from " islamic studies" is being recycled here.
WHAT?! "filth"? Clearly, you can't refute my argument, then. I raised the obvious point: Many Muslims argue that if the Prophet is indeed for all people of all times, then his marriage to Aisha (the young girl that she was) is Islamic and hence would apply to all times and all Muslims everywhere.
Show me where I've gone wrong with this.
This is not to support forced marriage or to say that Islam supports it. I'm saying this only to show that when you attack Pashtunwali by claiming it is okay with forced marriages, I can give you hadiths that themselves support the same thing. You should therefore not claim that ANY religion or ANY culture is okay with it.
Or do you want me to give you hadiths to justify this?
- The Prophet asked Abu Bakkar for Aisha's hand in marriage without consulting Aisha (and Abu Bakkar at first didn't even seem to agree to the idea):
The Prophet asked Abu Bakr for 'Aisha's hand in marriage. Abu Bakr said "But I am your brother." The Prophet said, "You are my brother in Allah's religion and His Book, but she (Aisha) is lawful for me to marry."
Bukhari, vol. 7, Book 62, hadith # 18
- Aisha's age
Narrated 'Aisha: The Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old. Hisham said: I have been informed that 'Aisha remained with the Prophet for nine years (i.e. till his death)." ...
Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 62, hadith # 65
-------------------------------------------
- Aisha playing with her friends when she's told to get ready because she's getting married (does this not mean she didn't know it was about to happen or was happening?) -- and note the terminology used (yes, it could be problems with translation, who knows):
Narrated Aisha:
The Prophet engaged me when I was a girl of six (years). We went to Medina and stayed at the home of Bani-al-Harith bin Khazraj. Then I got ill and my hair fell down. Later on my hair grew (again) and my mother, Um Ruman, came to me while I was playing in a swing with some of my girl friends. She called me, and I went to her, not knowing what she wanted to do to me. She caught me by the hand and made me stand at the door of the house. I was breathless then, and when my breathing became Allright, she took some water and rubbed my face and head with it. Then she took me into the house. There in the house I saw some Ansari women who said, "Best wishes and Allah's Blessing and a good luck." Then she entrusted me to them and they prepared me (for the marriage). Unexpectedly Allah's Apostle came to me in the forenoon and my mother handed me over to him, and at that time I was a girl of nine years of age.
Bukhari, volume 5, Book, 58, hadith # 234.
There's so much more, but you get the basic idea, I hope.
So quit with your stuff of how a certain culture supports it. If the culture of the Prophet was such that it was okay with forced marriages, then you can't blame Pashtunwali for it as well. Sure, two wrongs don't make a right, but I hope you see my emphasis on the culture of the Prophet.
How can a husband feel happy knowing his wife is forced to sleep with him? Where does the pleasure come from? How can a husband feel happy knowing it was not her choice to marry you.
Sangar if you can't refute her doesn't that mean you have no argument? I'd love to see your reply.
as I said, the ahadith about forced marriage being unlawful in islam are narrated by aysha ra. Read the article I posted.
Qrratugai is one of those people who study at the university in order to become the next Salman Rushdie or Taslima Nasreen. Only thing she knows about Islam is the stuff Islam bashers use to attack Islam and to insult our religion.

Thanks for the article, BUT those are a certain person's view. The hadiths, however, are no one's view; some are even themselves narrated by Aisha.
This is a discussion. I want to know what *you* think. Do you wanna try using your own mind to explain these hadiths to me instead of referring to others? If I wanted to know other people's opinion on this, I have hundreds of ways of finding out.
Also, I don't go to school to learn these things. Only if you yourself go to school to learn this kind of stuff would you think others would. And that says a lot about your purpose for education, which I must say is very superficial and sick. You shouldn't let others make up your mind for you; you should know what all is out there but then yourself decide what to accept and what to reject.
Besides, this stuff is all over the net and all over the libraries. And one doesn't have to go to school to learn it. Sad that you'd think so.

funny you are talking about "thinking". You are just retyping stuff from your course textbooks written by kuffar to attack islam.
Come on now. You can fool other people here. But you can't fool me. LOL

Good thing I don't care about your opinions.
But when have I ever insulted or attacked Islam? Don't you think that your belief that when I provide authentic hadiths to make a point (like about forced marriages) means I'm attacking Islam shows how weak your faith in Islam is, and how weak your knowledge about Islam is?
Again, refute my argument. You've NEVER been able to refute anything I've ever said, Sangar, but the only thing you CAN say is: She's Pamella Geller (was that the name?), she's Salman Rushdie, She's Tasleema Nasreen, she's just attacking Islam, etc., etc.
In discussions, you respond to someone's argument in an intelligent way so that people can give it some thought. When you don't do that and only give me stuff by Ibn Taymiyyah and Islam-QA to read, what does that say about your OWN level of knowledge about what we're disusing?

Again. Why don't you tell me which texts I'm copying from, if you know OH so much about "kuffar sources"?
When I give the exact hadiths -- FROM Bukhari, mind you -- how is that from Kuffar sources or whatever? Or are you implying that Bukhari is a kuffar source? ... whoa, there.
I wait for your response to my challenge. Otherwise, please refer to my signature. Manana.

again, i dont need to refute you. You are just a hypocrite. WHenver you are presented with ahadith or ayat of quran you go around like a typical kaafir saying well, hadith or ayat of quran dont mean anything since they could be interpreted by just anybody.
But when it suits your personal interest, you use quran and hadith to mock Islam.
That's why I think you are probably not even a Muslima. You are just here to spread doubt and to make islam look like something bad.
Your kind are very common nowadays. And you are all the same. Because your teachers are the same people.
But the louder you scream and the harder you try, the harder you will fall flat on your face. Because are an evil person with evil intentions. And evil is bound to end. Allah has promised us that only truth with prevail.
Sangar Jaana, why are you always so quick to resort to assumptions and locking people in a little box you've created for them (you know, "kuffar" and "liberal" and "marxist" and "socialist" and the millions of others)?
Have you learned nothing from Noman Ali, whom you seem to admire very much? Did you learn nothing from the intellectual honesty video you yourself posted here?
I asked a simple question: Did Aisha have a say in her marriage?
And the best you could do was: "You're a hypocrite, you're probably not even a Muslimah, you love mocking Islam, you pick and choose which Quranic verses and hadiths suit your agenda, you're citing Kuffar sources [Bukhari?!?!]," etc., etc.
Spare me your nonsense. I'm not interested. QUITE obviously, you can't show me why it was not right of me to point our those hadiths. Just say it so. Just admit it, and all's well. I'm not gonna "mock" you for not having a good knowledge of Islam or for not being able to justify your claim that Pashtunwali is okay with forced marriages when obviously the Prophet's culture was also supportive of it as well.

You are a kaafir. You have clearly stated so when you said you find arguments of richard dawkins more convincing than ayat of quran. So why are you still pretending to be a Muslima? Don't yo have the guts like your buddy nadir shia to clearly say that you have disbelieved?
And an intellectual discussion about islam can only be held with someone who enters the discussion with sincerity. Not some frustrated feminist in favor of homosexuality who attacks Islam and mocks our religion in every single post.
