Most afghans look down on pakistan...even those from peshware are consider culture-less...maybe that is the cause...specially after what pakistan did to afghanistan... I know a afghan guy who wanted to marry a ****...his family was so against it that they disowned the guy...throw him out...and did not even went to his wedding. People in afghanstian really hate p**** specially after strategic depth.Originally posted by Farhan View PostThing with Pashtuns is that they 're being too harsh on their children when it comes to marriage. I also fell in love with one but our fault was that I'm from Pashtunkhwa 'n she from Afghanistan, 'n that my Pashtu is extremely weak. It boiled my blood even more when I heard she got engaged to a Tajek.

What is pashton culture and what is tajik culture? last i check both were exactly teh same with exceptation that pashton speak pashto and tajik speak Persian... now how you define a pashton? I myself am pashton by blood from both my parents but i speak only Persian so i do not consider myself Pashton.Originally posted by Laila View PostExactly, Laghman is very diverse. And the Tajiks are considered as Pashtuns because they have respected and assimilated themselves into the Pashtun community, and they are quite Patriotic too. They have been welcomed, and there arent any problems.

Well how so? How you define a pashton? For me its all about langauge...if i speak Dari as first lagnauge and do not understand pashto then im not a Pashton...even though my family is Pashton. I personally do not care about being pashton or not... nor i feel proud of my family being big shot back home during kings time... i was raised in Persian culture--Kabul... and honestly i have more in common with those that speak Persian then those that speak pashto.Originally posted by shlombay^You are absolutely WRONG.

Can i ask u something personal? did you had those thing? i mean you can not generalize...now not all tajiks are modern. and not all pashotns are conservative... people of Kabul are totally diff story...its capital and most of kabulies...pashton, and tajiks are way modernized... and you know Mohamdzia are way more librial then any tajik kabuli i have seen...

I agree,
Have you ever heard of "Namaz jaaney, Pathan jaaney?"

If someone speaks Pashto, I consider them Pashtun. Why? Cause at times, I can say they are also an ethno-linguistic group.
However, If your dad is a Pashtun, and he is not your step dad, and you were born to him. Then ofcourse you are Pashtun.
You are a farsi-zaban Pashtun. But you are a PASHTUN. You may hate being called a Pashtun (maybe) but that is the truth.
I do not hate or love being called pashton... i honestly don't care...all I care is that I’m Afghan... tribes or ethnic is useless for me.. i have seen enough in 28 years of my life to base my opinion that for common people of Afghanistan ethnic is bs.

Use-less in a way that i do not care for things that i had no saying in it nor that i gain it throw my work, or achievement. Being born to Pashtons parents were simply an act of god/nature. which i had no saying in it...so for me its use-less.

Pashtun are known to defend the honor of us woman. Its why despite me being a Pashtana, I am attracted to my culture. I live in the USA, No one is forcing me to follow Pashtunwali.
I told u I do not consider myself pashton...for simple reason that we do not speak pashto...moreover my parents are highly educated we were urbanized Afghan aristocracy during kings time...so we are not typical type.
