^ i have always wondered how kalash have survived so long as a people considering how many times northern pakistan has been invaded by outsiders, now their genetics has shown that they haven't really mixed with many other people, its really amazing if you think about it, God nows how long is their history.

Also another isolate people the people of Andaman islands of india are genetically the most unique people in the world, they haven't mixed with any one for more then 60,000 years, some people have that said that those tribes of anadman like (onge tribe) are part of the earliest south asian ancestors and they make up what we call the (ancestoral south indians) in genetic studies

They pretty much look like africans:

If the majority of Pashtuns have the R1a1 Haplogroup, would that mean the whole Semitic origin would be dismissed as mere myths.

Its a well established fact the ancient Aryans settled in Afghanistan and the Pashtun regions, and secondly, Pashtuns are a Indo-Iranian people and these recent claims of being Arabs or Jews are unfounded and mere nonsense. Tribal names resembling Semitic origin, could have been due to the Islamifcation of Pashtun society during the Arab conquests hence, people named themselves after Arab/Jewish tribes.

from what i have seen from these studies so far, pashtuns dont show much links to arabia, however (semetic) itself is a language group, even people like Lebenase, syrians, iraqis etc... are semetic, but their dna is not exactly the same as saudis or yemenies. Pashtuns do show links to northern middle eastern area, like Kurdistan, Turkey, Armenia and Caucasus countries, this is where the west eurasian dna in pashtuns seems to be from.

Please study the flow of ancient genes, before you make a post. Are you going to call Tajiks Indo-Tajiks? Classification systems go by ethnicity and similarity in DNA, not by political maps.

Blue/gray eyes are belived to of originally emerged in the Balkans/Black Sea region. However I am unsure as to the origins of green eyes though.

Via the silk road for one.

Whilst different expansion and contraction events, triggering migration, distributing populations across Eurasia. Such as the neolithic the expansion of agriculture, climatic changes, technological developments and various invasions/displacements. In ancient times, the more fertile regions of the world where host to the largest populations. Which is why many of todays peoples, tend to emanate from such regions.

Horses were first domesticated in the Eurasian Steppes and chariots first emerged in the Urals. Which permited rapid Eurasian Indo-European and Altaic expansions.

The proto-Indo-Europeans where a ancient Indic/Central Asian Eurasiatic peoples, who aligned with various Western Asian peoples and it is this alignment that gave rise to the Indo-Europeans. Which is why even the Kalash have Western Eurasian ancestry, even though, they are clearly a very isolated tribe.
Green eyes probably emerged from the same area where the mutations for blue eyes occurred. Blue/Green etc eyes all nearly have the same quantity of low melanin, though green eyes have a slight amount of more melanin then blue eyes. Green eyes were present in Southern Siberia during the bronze age, and so that may hint as to which region they began to emerge in vast numbers.

Anyways, I've heard climate does in some ways affect human pigment and is a major cause of mutations. The Kalash being a very isolated people tend to have lighter skin/lighter eyes because they live in a climate similar to that of southern/eastern Europe?

                ^^ I'm just guessing.

                  Keep guessing.

It has more to do with genetic drift and isolation than anything else.

Genotype–phenotype mapping really does not tell us much about peoples ancestry. The Kalash/Nuristanis are a genetic isolate, Indo-Aryan peoples with Western Eurasian and Indic ancestry. However they don't seem to of been isolated to the extent that they exhibit less diversity due to bottlenecking.

Whilst they are outliners. I very much doubt that the Andamanese are some kind of missing link between Asia and Africa.

Two major ancient populations from the Ancestral North Indians (ANI) and the Ancestral South Indians (ASI) gave rise to the diverse groups that we see today. The study was based on genetic analysis. It also looked for genetic variations based on caste — upper and lower caste — from two the States of Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh.

A paper published online today (September 24) in the journal Nature, shows that all diverse groups seen spread out in India today come from two major ancient populations that are genetically divergent.

The two ancient populations are the Ancestral North Indians (ANI) and the Ancestral South Indians (ASI). The study was based on genetic analysis.
While the Ancestral North Indians (ANI) group is genetically close to Middle Easterners, Central Asians, and Europeans, the Ancestral South Indians (ASI) are not related to any group outside India, notes the paper.
The study was undertaken by the Hyderabad-based Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) and three other institutions in the U.S.
Samples from 132 people representing 25 groups from 15 States and speaking six language families (including two language families from the Andaman Islands) were studied.

The study also looked for genetic variations based on caste — upper and lower caste — from two the States of Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh.
The study found the groups (seen today) that emerged from the two ancient populations have distinct genetic affinity. “The populations (groups) that emerged from ANI show 40-80 per cent genetic affinity to European population.

“But the populations that emerged from ASI don’t show any affinity to any population outside India,” said Dr. Kumarasamy Thangaraj, Senior Scientist at CCMB, and one of the authors of the paper. “The Hyshi and Ao Nage population from north-east India show genetic affinity to the Chinese.”

The indigenous population seen in the Andamans have more affinity to the ASI. “Otherwise, they have no relationship with any other population anywhere in the world,” said Dr. Thangaraj.

Unlike the European and Chinese population, the Indian population are more scattered in a genetic sense.

I am Pashtun and my DNA is R1a1 through the 12th marker, although I have a very rare DYS, my closest DNA relatives are found in Iceland, at least that is what I got from FTDNA

The Mongols considered those who didnt have roots within their Mongol Clans as inferrior and weak.

The Arabs considered non Arabs as "Mawalis" hence the creation of Shiaism.

Europeans considered themselves as the suprioer ones too.

Even Pashtuns have a long history of racial supramacy over Hazaras.

So your claims of Europeans being the sole ones responsible for inventing racial supramacy is clear and sheer utter nonsense.

Even during the Slave trade, Arabs were the ones who captured and took away African people and sold them off to the Europeans.

Every Race has its own suprmacists, like me, I am a Pashtun Supramacist , I think race does matter, and there is nothing wrong with loving your nation and race.

But nobody else tried to prove its supermacy through so called scientific research

Just an update, the 22 pashtun samples that showed 20% ASI in pashtuns are actually not from Peshawar, they are from kurram valley close to the border to afghanistan, can any one tell me which tribes live there?

                                My Autosomal Results

                                Just to reiterate my background:

                                Father's side: Ghilzai Pashtun
                                Mother's side: Ghilzai Pashtun

Tribes that I am made up of:

                                Amarkhel (Pashtun)
                                Kharoti (Pashtun)
                                Arghandi (Pashtun)
                                Alakozai (Pashtun)
                                Tarakhel (Pashtun)
                                Jaghuri (Mongol-Turkic)
                                Mohammadzai (Pashtun)

Genographic took my results and put them into categories that they have researched, Iranian and Pamiri Tajik, which in the middle, is where Pashtuns are from. Not sure if the 17% East Asian (North and South) come from my Jaghuri link, or from another link. I'd like to run a Geno 2.0 test on my father to get my late grandmothers mtDNA ancestry, she was from the Kharoti tribe.
