Biology . change in the gene pool of a population from generation to generation by such processes as mutation, natural selection, and genetic drift.
stop being obstreporous. it can still refer to a child growing in the womb. just because the scientists have changed it to fit their guesswork doesn't invalidate the other evolution definitions, cutey ;-)

But it does mean that those definitions have nothing to do with the subject.

that's not the biological definition of evolution though.

        • so are you advocating that medicine couldn't have 'evolved' without the 'theory' of evolution?

          Comment

          • yes.....evolution was responsible for the development of important medicines and treatments we have today.

Evolution is real and it works

if you think otherwise, show us one Creation Science "Theory" which has actually helped treat or cure ailments or impairments?

            • scientists are using/stealing information from the medicinal knowledge of native peoples. some of those primitive dudes have creation 'theories'

              Comment

              • But we'd never even know whether those methods work without studying evolution ....and where was their "Creation THeories" applied in medical sciences to treat sick people That was my question

read carefully Faye.....You yourself honed in on how Graveyard dances around questions and used straw man arguments; you're doing what he is doing now.

                • i am reading carefully but i am learning to dance from you as well. so which 'evolution' are you referring to there?
actually, i am not meaning to dance or use straw man arguments it's just that i am logically challenged. you know that.
i still don't know that one needs the 'theory of evolution' to be capable of evolving medicines, just because you say it is so. i will have to do my research here.

                  • but let's face it ....most of the major medical breakthroughs, were not done by Natives or Indigenous peoples if that was the case, we wouldn't see said natives and indigenous peoples dying from things like being infected with parasites.

                    • but they survived a pretty long time without THE "theory of evolution'. australian aboriginals around 40,000 years or so. no pollution of the environment. now, in the short time span 'civilisation' has been here, with it's science and 'theories', every river is polluted, deforrestation, chemicals in the soils and water, polluted air, giant freaking holes in the ground with toxic waste left behind.
and you want to diminish the knowledge of primitive peoples because they were infected with parasites?
now humans and the planet are dieing from the s*** created by the scientists.

did they? That's the question; Natural Selection sadly has made them no longer viable in the greater ecosystem, hence why they've been over run by Europeans. Now Don't get me wrong, I believe in the merits of the Aborigines, but their lack of developing skills and abilities is precisely what made them vulnerable to European colonialism. That lack in turn has lead to their virtual extinction.

Let's also not forget Mortality rates with aborgines was higher regardless of European interventions; (albeist I do admit to European crimes against nature and the aborigines).

It's also what made us vulnerable to a lesser degree; we still have some fight in us and there's people like myself who can see the errors of our ways and know how to curtail the hostile elements impinging on our ecological domain, both internal and external.

SYDNEY: Some bacteria have the capacity to stabilise uranium contaminated sites, and if they are used they could reduce the chances of these sites contaminating major waterways and ecosystems, U.S. scientists have said.

Ecology and evolution of microbial populations for bioremediation.

                          Liu S, Suflita JM.

Source :Department of Botany and Microbiology, University of Oklahoma, Norman 73019.

                          Abstract
Bioremediation exploits the genetic diversity and metabolic versatility of microorganisms for the transformation of contaminants into less-harmful end-products, which are then integrated into natural biogeochemical cycles. Understanding the ecology, physiology and evolution of degradative microorganisms is critical for the successful consideration and implementation of bioremediation. This article focuses on the common ecological and evolutionary constraints that influence bioremediation processes.

yet i have a question to you : where do you know THAT it was literally meant in hadiths and quran, who thought you this, why didnt the prophet (pbuh) say it is meant literally just symbolic...its not real guys dont believe it so.

its the same saying of the christians (may Allah guide them)
Jesus said Moses 3 : 8 :14: Do not eat pig meat.

i asked them what is that , they say it is just literally meant not really.

*ok. i wouldn't have thought the way they were diminished was considered natural selection but i googled and see that it fits the definition for 'natural selection.

*mortality rate is high today also and due to some of the products designed by scientists. chemicals in tobacco, pollution, chemicals in cleaning agents etc.
survival of the fittest allowed the hardiest to survive whereas today even a human who has no awarenes of the reality around them, is able to be kept alive.

*the misuse of science is not just obvious to those who have been to university, scimitar.
i have never stated that i disapprove of everything science does and i especiall love when they learn how clever other creatures are because it shows that human beings are not the only clever creatures, so we gain more respect for the rest of creation.
i do believe that primitive people had way more knowledge about nature, that for them, did not need to be proved in a lab.
i am just not certain that 'the theory of evolution' re; human beings evolving from apes, is true. the theory of evolution for study of viruses etc, appears to be very helpful.
i must apologise, i add, as i have now looked at the biology meaning of evolution and see the difference with the other meanings.
thanks for being so patient with me

it was proved by the lab of thousands of years of trial and error

science just takes that same method and condenses in a rigorous format.
