  • Step 7: Learn to Like the Things That Need to be Done

    Some things need to be done whether we like them or not; for example, mothers caring
    for their young. They may not be fun and games, and may even be painful. But if we
    learn to like the task, the impossible becomes possible.

    Start by doing what is necessary, then what is possible, and suddenly you are doing the
    impossible.

    • To many of us our professiosn are drudgery..beacuse we are carrying them out because we are expectedto do somethig in life...hence...

      how can we expect to even thing about the "S" success with this drudgery.....the key is to love what you do...or rather do what you love.....

      it is said that our profession should grow out of our hobby or interest only then we will love doing it......

      • Step 8: Start Your Day with a Positive

        Read or listen to something positive first thing in the morning. After a good night's sleep
        we are relaxed and our subconscious is receptive. It sets the tone for the day, and puts
        us in the right frame of mind to make every day a positive day.

        In order to bring about change, we need to make a conscious effort to make positive thoughts and behavior part of our lives.

        Practice having positive thoughts and behavior daily until they become a habit.

        William James of Harvard University said, "If you are going to change your life, you need
        to start immediately and do it flamboyantly."

          We have all experienced this sometime in our lives......have u ever started your day with listening to a song and did u realise the entire day you unconsciously sang that song throughout the day...reason??????? as mentioned above our subcosncious mind is most active in themorning and all that we read, we think, we end up doing that throughout the day...so why not start with positivity.....

          • WINNERS VERSUS LOSERS

            The Winner is always part of the answer;
            The Loser is always part of the problem.

            The Winner always has a program;
            The Loser always has an excuse.

            The Winner says, "Let me do it for you";
            The Loser says, "That is not my job."

            The Winner sees an answer for every problem;
            The Loser sees a problem for every answer.

            The Winner says, "It may be difficult but it is possible";
            The Loser says, "It may be possible but it is too difficult."

            When a Winner makes a mistake, he says, "I was wrong";
            When a Loser makes a mistake, he says, "It wasn't my fault."

            A Winner makes commitments;
            A Loser makes promises.

            Winners have dreams;
            Losers have schemes.

            Winners say, "I must do something";
            Losers say, "Something must be done."

            Winners are a part of the team;
            Losers are apart from the team.

              Kandahary......you are correct absolutely.......its not the end of the world at alll....Losers are those who fail to try anymore.....failing once or twice or thrice or even more doesn't make someone a loser....winners are the ones who fail to give up and losers are the one who fail to give it more tries....

              one becomes a loser when one stops trying.....

              Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up..

              and when they give up they do things mentioned in WINNERS VERSUS LOSERS....

              • WINNERS VERSUS LOSERS....continued......

                Winners see the gain;
                Losers see the pain.

                Winners see possibilities;
                Losers see problems.

                Winners believe in win-win;
                Losers believe for them to win someone has to lose.

                Winners see the potential;
                Losers see the past.

                Winners are like a thermostat;
                Losers are like thermometers.

                Winners choose what they say;
                Losers say what they choose.

                Winners use hard arguments but soft words;
                Losers use soft arguments but hard words.

                Winners stand firm on values but compromise on petty things;
                Losers stand firm on petty things but compromise on values.

                Winners follow the philosophy of empathy: "Don't do to others what you would not want them to do to you";
                Losers follow the philosophy, "Do it to others before they do it to you."

                Winners make it happen;
                Losers let it happen.

                Winners plan and prepare to win.

                The key word is preparation.

                  • SUCCESS

                    Success is not an accident. It is the result of our attitude and our attitude is a choice.
                    Hence success is a matter of choice and not chance.

                    Most crackpots keep waiting for a jackpot. But can that bring success?

                    A priest was driving by and saw an exceptionally beautiful farm. He stopped his car to
                    appreciate the bountiful crop. The farmer was riding on his tractor and saw the priest at
                    the corner. He drove towards the Priest and when he got there the priest said, "God has
                    blessed you with a beautiful farm. You should be grateful for it. The farmer replied, "Yes,
                    God has blessed me with a beautiful farm and I am grateful for it, but you should have
                    seen this farm when God had the whole farm to himself!"

                    Attitude determines Altitude....

                    • God helps the ones, who help themselves...hence the story of the farmer.....

                      God gives food to every bird but does not bring it to its nest......

                      • How come one person moves forward with one success after another, and yet some are still getting ready?

                        How come one man goes through life crossing one hurdle after another, accomplishing
                        his goals while another struggles and gets nowhere?

                        If the answer to these two questions can become part of the curriculum, it could
                        revolutionize the educational system.

                        The uncommon man seeks opportunity, whereas the common man seeks security.

                        We need to keep our minds on what we want, not on what we don't want.

                          Everything plays an important role, but I feel like gratitude is something that's pretty powerful.

                          Something I think that could hurt is is to sit there and wonder at someone else's success, forgetting that we ourselves could move forward instead of wondering why we haven't gotten there or WHY that person is there ... I am speaking about this more when it becomes an envy issue

                            Iqra grattitude is something which is indeed very powerful.....if we feel thankful to somebody in our hearts, there is no harm to say it aloud to the person concerned... a simple thank you doesnot put us down at all...infact it raises you much much high.....

                            envy is a negative thought Iqra....why should we be envious of somebody or somebody;s work....if the person is successful then its because he/she gave his/her best...its a thing to be apreciated, to be learned from and not envying that person at all....

                            we not being successful and the otherperson beingsuccessful is because definitely we went wrong somewhere or it was our wong decision or poor decision or we failed to give our maximum....its allright to accept our mistakes....once we realise and accept our mistakes....we avoid them in future and move little more towards success...

                            the successful person should get the fullcredit of his/her success because he/she was the one to make the maximum of the opportunity, had taken the correct decision, gave his/her maximum.....

                            when we dont achieve our goals, its experience that we get.....

                            we cant sit back if unsuccessful at one point.....wehave to work towards success everday, every hour and every minute....

                              No matter how confident one can be without support it wont work.
                              Jasmine....according to me that extra push which i would say is the initial push has to be by us....because initiative is something which is important...and once when started everything falls in its place if we are dedicated to our work........

                              and i absolutely agree to you when u say we need somebody to be proud of you.....but lets first be proud of what we are doing....only if we are proud others will be proud....if we talk ill and negative about our job we spread the negativity around and then we give chance to others to talk ill about our job tooo....so they will make us more miserable...and then where is the motivation?????

                              hence mentioned above Learn to love what you do or rather do what you love.....

                              i always believe in helping myself rather than asking for help......also i would will support myself rather than asking for support.....support yourself and see others support you toooo.....

                              without others support (family, friend, etc.) things wont be impossible at alll....but yes i agree it will be difficult......it about whether we get influenced by them (in case they are not supportive) and get demotivated and stop moving ahead or they get motivated by us (seeing our dedication) and then they support us.....

                              either ways things rely to a great extent on us....

                              • WHAT IS SUCCESS?

                                A lot of research has gone into the subject of success and failure. All that we need to do is learn our lessons from history. When we study the life histories of successful people, we find that they have certain qualities in common no matter which period of history they lived in.

                                Success leaves clues and if we identify and adopt the qualities of successful people, we shall be successful. Similarly, there are characteristics common in all failures.

                                If we avoid those characteristics, then we shall not be failures.

                                Success is no mystery, but simply the result of consistently applying some basic principles. The reverse is just as true: Failure is simply a result of making a few mistakes repeatedly.

                                All of this might sound too simplistic, but the fact is that most truths are very simple. They may not be easy, but they certainly are simple.
