Summary of the article:

1. Germany (Merkel) knew that Ukraine was about to collapse economically and militarily so they contacted Putin for talks (Putin didn't contact them).

2. To make it look more respectable rather than just one nation, Germany, Merkel convinced the French leader Hollande to come along.

3. Germany (Europe) recognizes that the pro-Russian areas of eastern Ukraine will be semi-independent.

4. Crimea is Russia's, no one is even debating that any more.

5. The pro-Russian areas of Ukraine will be able to veto any major decisions e.g. whether Ukraine joins NATO or the EU.


Putin has achieved his goals which are:

- Ukraine to stay in one piece but as a federalized state with respect for ethnic Russians.

- A neutral Ukraine which respects Russia but not a puppet of the US/West.


The war will probably continue for a while, but in real terms Russia has won.







*It is also worth noting that the Germans and others are getting sick and tired of the Americans and their war mongering which is destabilizing Europe with refugees and economic loss.

The Germans apparently arrested a senior Nuland aide a week or two ago. Nuland being the US Neo-con who said "F*** THE EU!" in a telephone conversation about how to install pro-US puppets in Ukraine.

1. Putin is not perfect but he has been chosen by the people of Russia as their democratically elected leader.

2. The Egyptian president has also been voted in via elections and millions went on the streets to protest against the "Muslim" Brotherhood regime of Morsi.


America is a very aggressive state with over 700 bases all over the world, Russia has 2 bases outside of Russia.

The Novorussians are said to be looking to capturing Maripoul.

The Donbass region which they now control is the industrial heartland of Ukraine, so the Ukranian state is severely weakened with the permanent loss of the Donbass (Russia is a nuclear power and will never allow Donbass to fall) and Maripoul is a key port for exporting industrial goods via the black sea.


- ISIS in Ukraine

"Islamist" militants who belong to the US-run global "Islamist militant" network have started to arrive in Ukraine. Why would they want to fight in Ukraine?

This move was expected as the US uses these militants as a de facto "foreign legion", and is planning to destabilize Russia and China in the Caucasus and Xian Jiang respectively by using US-controlled "militants".

Report: Russia is practicing attack runs against NATO warships in the Black Sea

Russian Su-30s and Su-24s aircraft from Russia’s Black Sea Fleet based in Crimea have been conducting mock attack runs on NATO warships operating in the Black Sea, Sputnik News reported.

According to the Russian media outlet, the jets, launched from Novofedorvka, an airbase in western Crimea peninsula have been monitoring the movements of two ships, the American USS Vicksburg (a Ticonderoga class guided missile cruiser), and Turkey’s frigate The Turgut Reis.

On March 3, a formation made of three Su-30s and four Su-24s overflew the NATO ships “to practice penetrating anti-air systems,” according to a source at the Sevastopol naval base who spoke to the Russian state agency.

Interestingly, the Russians believe these missions are used for training purposes by both sides: “These ships’ crews are doubtlessly conducting exercises in repelling air attacks from our planes, which gives our pilots the opportunity to gain experience in maneuvering and conducting aerial reconnaissance both in the range of anti-air systems and outside their range.”

Close encounters between Russian planes and NATO ships around the globe happen quite frequently, although they have become a bit more common in the Black Sea since Russia's annexation of Crimea last year. Following the invasion of the peninsula, Moscow moved combat planes to the local airbases; some of them overfly the NATO frigates in the vicinity on occasion.

In April 2014, a Su-24 Fencer flew multiple passes at 500 feet above sea level, within 1,000 yards of the USS Donald Cook, a US Navy destroyer operating in the Black Sea at that time. The ship commander considered the move “provocative and inconsistent with international agreements.”

According to a source at the Russia’s Chief Naval Staff quoted by the Russian media outlet TASS, the two NATO warships will be joined in the next few hours by the Italian frigate Aliseo and Canada’s frigate The Fregerickton which are passing through the Black Sea straits.

Update:

- Germany v USA.

There have been tensions between Berlin and Washington over the Ukraine crisis. It is obvious the Germans know that the US wants to destabilize the European mainland with another war in Europe.

Germany exports around 60% of its goods outside of the EU and needs non-EU trade to continue to be successful.


- Russia is suffering economically with trade down heavily this year including a huge decrease in both exports and imports.

Russia is basically at war. Not a physical direct war with the US, but a real "cold" war.

However this is peanuts compared to the 20-30 million Russians that died in the second world war, so not a big problem for the Russians who are working slowly but steadily for the dismantling of the current US-centric world order.

- The newly liberated Donestk Republic has started selling coal to the rump Ukraine, meaning de facto recognition of the actual authority of the Donetsk government by Kiev.




Russia finding non-EU suppliers

With EU trade sanctions against Russia, Russian companies are now turning towards non-EU countries such as China and elsewhere to replace products and services from them. This transfer of supplier is becoming permanent and irreversible in some cases meaning European companies are losing money and suffering financially.

The media is speculating a possible deal between Iran and the USA over Iran's nuclear programme.

In other words if this is true there is unlikely to be war against Iran.


- Syria

Syria has entered its 5th year of war. The country is completely and utterly destroyed.

The Damascus government controls the capital, most major urban centres and the coast i.e. the parts that matter.

The Kurds are the biggest winners of this conflict and control their own regions.

Militants are split in to different factions, with one killing the other, allying and re-allying.

There is no recognized rebel leader interviewed by the world media as the Syrian opposition leader or head of Syria's alternative government.

It seems very unlikely Assad will ever be removed and the Damascus government will stay in power.

The American regime's foreign minister Kerry had said that sooner or later his regime must negotiate with Assad.



However after uproar from Turkey, Gulf Arabs and France he seems to have backtracked a day or two later.

It was speculated the US plan was to destroy Syria as a prelude to Iran which itself was a prelude to destroying Russia and China.

Syria needed to be destroyed (which it has) and wrested from Iran's influence as if there was a US attack on Iran, Iran could have used Hezbullah forces in southern Lebanon via its Syrian ally to attack Israel.

So this ability for pro-Iranian forces to attack Israel needed to be destroyed.

Russia, China and Iran all back the Damascus government.

Russia and China are prepared to go to nuclear war for Syria.

Your post though virtually bordering on racist in its characterization on Russian people was a bit better than others since unlike some people on this forum it was not an ad hominem personal attack (a foul mouthed bully like RevolutionThroughReason now trolling under a new nick "BrownSkinnedSavage could learn a lot from you and rather than insult posters or harass them could focus on discussing subject matter).

To address your points.

1. Putin is no saint, but no political leader out there is. I would say he is no Gandhi, but Gandhi himself was not a totally pleasant character and is glorified by the western media.

The Chechen war has been resolved with autonomy for Chechnya and massive funding for the region.


2. I do not watch RT.

I do read around the subject and have a far more holistic understanding of topics than others do.

I acknowledge there is Russian propaganda just as there is western propaganda. In fact some deny there is even anything such as western propaganda but call it "authoritative mainstream media" and claim that anyone who denies western propaganda is a "conspiracy theorist".

To give an example of how I disagree with the pro-Russia narrative:

a: Ukranians are not a fabricated artificial nationality unlike some claims, the Ukranians are linguistically and culturally different from the Russians. Ukranian is a separate and actual language.

b: The rebels in Donbass are armed by Moscow who have troops in there from what I know, this is something Moscow denies officially.


3. Russia is a multi-ethnic federation with around a hundred languages, different religions, autonomy for the different constituent Republics and so forth.

Putin is no ethnic Russian supremacist.


3. The Russian army is very strong and able to mobilize very quickly. They have carried out many exercises where they mobilized tens of thousands of troops including sometimes over a hundred thousand troops and transported them for example from European Russia to Siberia in a day or two.

Their Crimea operation was swift, decisive and super-efficient.

Russia is now basically on a war footing.

Russia is also different to Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya as it is a nuclear power.

The American army is poor because despite lots of equipment in actual man to man fighting they are not good fighters. America only takes on far inferior foes or when they have weakened them massively through sanctions or aerial bombing.

More stable and more prosperous. I know this personally as I have a friend from Kazan who visits there and remarks on how much economic development has taken place.
