This is not racism. There are some good Russians, but on average they are very annoying, aggressive and racist people, who think that just because they have the biggest country of the world and a huge but incompetent army, they are superior to the rest of the world. Russian Imperialism is a threat for many people in Central Asia and Eastern Europe. Lithuanians, Poles and Belarussians fear that they will be the next victims and that Russia will soon "protect" also Russian minorities there. So please explain me why all
Neighbours of Russia hate Russians and fear Russian Invasions ?

    1. Putin is no saint, but no political leader out there is. I would say he is no Gandhi, but Gandhi himself was not a totally pleasant character and is glorified by the western media.

The Chechen war has been resolved with autonomy for Chechnya and massive funding for the region.
Putin is a dictator, who bombed some apartments in Russia in 1999 so that he can invade Chechnya and kill Muslims there. Putin needs war so that he can distract from domestic problems. He brutally slaughtered Chechens there and bombed their villages and cities . Kadyrov is a war lord, whos thugs plunder, rape and kill all people, who dont support Putin in Chechnya.

    2
. I do not watch RT.

I do read around the subject and have a far more holistic understanding of topics than others do.

I acknowledge there is Russian propaganda just as there is western propaganda. In fact some deny there is even anything such as western propaganda but call it "authoritative mainstream media" and claim that anyone who denies western propaganda is a "conspiracy theorist".
All make Propaganda today, but Russians make the most cheapest, imperalistic and make the most obvious lies. Just visit this site to find Russian lies in Russian Tv.
Struggle against fake information about events in Ukraine

Goebbels would be proud of them and there create hatred towards minorities and Ukrainians. There are even some people in Russian TV, who said that all Ukrainians must be exterminated and the West must be nuked. Russian TV is a freak show and i once watched Russian TV because i distrusted western media but after a while, i was shocked about the cheap propaganda there.

To give an example of how I disagree with the pro-Russia narrative:

a: Ukranians are not a fabricated artificial nationality unlike some claims, the Ukranians are linguistically and culturally different from the Russians. Ukranian is a separate and actual language.

b: The rebels in Donbass are armed by Moscow who have troops in there from what I know, this is something Moscow denies officially.
Also there is no persecution of Russians in Ukraine and Russia is supporting some thugs, who pillage and plunder villages and cities there. Nazis in Ukraine got less than 2% in the last elections and have no power there but Russian Propaganda, which is fascistic themself, wants to tell us that all Ukrainians are Fascists. Russia is the country with most Nazis in the world and is the most fascist state in the world.

" One blogger has identified seven such characteristics of fascism and then considered whether Germany under Hitler, the Soviet Union under Stalin and Brezhnev, the Russian Federation under Vladimir Putin, or Ukraine share them. The results will not be comforting to Russians: their country today has more fascist characteristics than does Ukraine (oleg-leusenko.livejournal.com/1407877.html).
In his post, Oleg Leusenko lists seven characteristics of fascism: a leader cult, a one-party system, militarism, the dominance of the security services, the official promotion of anti-semitism and xenophobia, state control of the media and a state propaganda system, and aggression abroad based on territorial claims on neighboring states."

    3. Russia is a multi-ethnic federation with around a hundred languages, different religions, autonomy for the different constituent Republics and so forth.

Putin is no ethnic Russian supremacist.
Yes Putin is not a ethnic Russian supremacist like Hitler was a ethnic German supremacist but he i supporting Nazis in Russia and dont punish them when they kill Central Asians, Chechens or other minorities. Russia is even supporting many right-wing parties in Europe. Russian TV declares that Belarussia, Ukraine and the Baltic States are all Russian Territories and that either the people there should accept Russian rule or they will be punished and invaded. Russians are the worst racist in the world and they just can not accept that Russia is a backward, degenerated and poor country.

    3. The Russian army is very strong and able to mobilize very quickly. They have carried out many exercises where they mobilized tens of thousands of troops including sometimes over a hundred thousand troops and transported them for example from European Russia to Siberia in a day or two.
Believe me Russian army is crap and if they had to fight against a modern army, they would be defeated easily. Manpower is worthless today, today you need modern weapons, good tactics and a good air force. 20000 NATO Soldiers would be enough to defeat Russia.
Their Crimea operation was swift, decisive and super-efficient.

Russia is now basically on a war footing.

Russia is also different to Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya as it is a nuclear power.
Russians invaded Crimea, when nobody expected that from the Ukrainian side and the Ukrainian army there was not ready to fight so that this was very very easy for Russians and everyone could to do the same in Crimea

The American army is poor because despite lots of equipment in actual man to man fighting they are not good fighters. America only takes on far inferior foes or when they have weakened them massively through sanctions or aerial bombing.
What are you talking about? Just compare how many casualties Americans and Soviets/Russians had in Afghanistan. The American Army is by far the strongest, best trained and best equipped army in the world. Russian army has poor morale, is bad trained, had outdated weapons and took already huge casualties in eastern Ukraine against a Ukrainian army, which has almost no ammunition, no anti-tank weapons and in some cases even uses weapons from the second world war.

    4. Russia is economically more prosperous than under the Yeltsin years.

More stable and more prosperous. I know this personally as I have a friend from Kazan who visits there and remarks on how much economic development has taken place.
Russia is a poor and backward country. Except of oil russian economy has nothing to offer or do you remember a russian product, which you bought? A average Indian has more money than a average Russian and Russian economy is now collapsing because of sanctions, low oil prices, wars and inflation. Life is expensive in Russia and many people are homeless. Russians are just incapable in modernizing their economy and have built no new Industries after the end of the Soviet Union.

Your labelling of Russians as "alcoholic" and other things is unnecessary and not accurate.
It is not a stereotype, it is true in most cases. Of course not all are Alcoholics but even children drink alcohol there and Russian man have almost the same life expectancy like man from the third world because of huge alcohol consumption.

    5. Crimean Tatars dislike Russia due to their mass deportation by the communists including ethnic Georgian Stalin.

Also some of their nationalists believe they are better strategically under a smaller, relatively weaker Ukraine (which they are in a stronger position to negotiate with) than much bigger, stronger Russia.

Yes, there are issues with Crimean Tatars, but what about the Kiev regime and their human rights abuses?
You are supporting people who persecute muslims and want to colonize muslim land. Ukrainians treated Crimean Tatars in the last years quite well and now this Crimean Tatars fight with Ukrainians against Russians in eastern Ukraine. I hope the Russians invaders die there and get sent back to Russia in coffins.

Also the Crimean Tatars used to engage in a massive slave trade enslaving white Christian Slavs and selling them. Though this was long ago and not particularly relevant, the point is in their past they have been oppressors too.
Russians enslaved even there own population and even today Russians are just slaves of Oligarchs. You are copying cheap russian imperalist propaganda, which is about how alcoholic Russians civilized the entire world. I think that you are a smart and intelligent person but dont get fooled by Russian propaganda.

    7. The real reason why I admire Putin is he has stood up to the west which has a far more sinister agenda than many people realize.

If it wasn't for Putin, Syria would now be totally under the control of extremist "Islamist" militia.

Ukraine is part of a larger geo-political chess game.

A lot of people do not realize this but if Russia goes than nobody can stop the US from realizing its agenda.

What that agenda is I will not fully disclose here, but it is not a very pleasant one.
Russia is morally much more degenerated than the west. They have the highest abortion, divorce and suicide rate. Russian women have just no honour and morale. It is a country of hypocrites and oligarchs.

Russians are weaker than Americans so they can only invade and terrorize countries next to them but in the end they are probably even worse Imperialists than Americans. Americans at least did not grab foreign territories and did not annex them. Ukrainians are just a poor victims of Russian imperialism and they are doomed because Russians will grab and annex more and more land. Nobody is helping them and they will end like Poland in during the second world war, when Soviets and Germans invaded Poland. So please start to think about Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians and think how they fell now after Russians invaded their land and massacre them?

This is the state which has murdered according to some 40 million people since WW2.
Russians killed much more people in the last 200 years

I support Vladimir Putin and the Russian people in their struggle against American fascism.
Putin is a fascist in the classical sense and Russians are worse than Americans in a many aspects
• Kushan Saka,

Well done on a good post because you addressed content and not personal issues albeit slightly, though it was relevant, as you think I am heavily influenced by RT (which I could care less about and may indeed be cheap Russian propaganda, I have no idea, never watched a single programme of it in my life).

Once again people like American Arab, Mahmood al-Yemeni (RevolutionThroughReason a.k.a. ScimitarXedge a.k.a Brown Skinned Savage) could learn from you in how to discuss in a mature and adult fashion rather than insulting people and their families e.g. calling someone a "rapist" and war criminal as he once called Asad71.

I am a bit busy and may address the points that you have made in more detail later.

      However a couple of points.

      1. I have never watched a single programme of Russia Today in my life. At the most several Youtube videos by them.

      2. A lot of what you said is not correct.

Crimea is not "Muslim land", it is majority almost 90% Christian and most of these are Russians.

It is like a Mongolian nationalist calling Afghanistan Mongolian land because of the 10-15% Hazara population there.

      3. The Russian army is very strong.

There is simply no question about that.

To deny that is just such a denial of reality I am stunned.

Do you know some of the differences between the Russian army and NATO-trained armies?

Russian officers are told to fight with their men in the front line whilst NATO officers are trained to command from the safety of command centres.

The Crimea operation was smooth, swift, bloodless and the majority of Crimeans want re-unification with Russia and this was known even before the Kiev coup by Maidan protestors, for years they had been calling for autonomy or re-unification with Russia.

      The Americans were defeated in:

      - Vietnam despite engaging in what is effectively genocide with the use of napalm, agent orange, mass bombing of Vietnam, Laos etc.

      - Cuba, bay of pigs fiasco.

      - Lebanon, where Hezbullah expelled them from.

Americans expelled from Lebanon in 1983 after anti-US military operation against US marine base.

      - Somalia, expelled by Somali militia men e.g. black hawk down.

      I could carry on.

Why does Russia have such a strong defence industry? Why are they able to sell so many weapons? Because of the quality.

The Russians won World War 2, the Americans and Brits were side players. The real war was in the east. The Russian people suffered more than any other.

      4. You constantly refer to RT, RussiaToday, thinking that I am influenced by that, though I've never seen it in my life (a whole programme).

However I think you have a deep hatred of Russians because you may be a Pashtun from Afghanistan who hates the modern Russian Federation because of what the USSR did in 1979.

      I don't support that.

However ethnic Russians have been mistreated in the Baltic Republics where to an extent they are second class citizens.

Northern Kazakhstan is majority Russian but Russia has not taken that back.

The Ukranian fascists who took power in Kiev are ideologically Banderists with a deep hatred for Russia and the "president" Poroshenko has openly stated he wants Ukranian Russians in the Donbass region to experience their children suffer in basements from Ukranian bombing.

Anyway the Kiev regime is a US-installed puppet regime with tapes leaked of US state official Victoria Nuland openly talking about who to place in power there.

      5. America is the biggest terrorist entity on earth and has massacred, raped and devastated (i.e. massive ecological damage including destruction of land through nuclear radioactive material such as depleted uranium) across the entire globe.

Anyone who stands up to them is a hero.

The fact is whether America supporters like it or not, the Russians and Chinese have had enough of American terrorism and the gloves are now off.

      • Washington's Empire Is Cracking

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), together with the BRICS Bank, are the escape route from US domination.

The author of this article, Dr. Paul Craig Roberts, was Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Economic Policy, associate of the Wall Street Journal and columnist for Business Week

Washington’s EU vassals might be finding their backbone. Britain, Germany, France, and Italy are reported to have defied Washington’s orders and applied to join the Chinese-led Asian Investment Bank. Australia, Japan, South Korea, Switzerland and Luxembourg might also join.

Washington uses its development banks such as the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank, along with the IMF, in order to exercise financial and political hegemony. These banks are crucial elements of American economic and political imperialism.

The Chinese-led bank will, of course, be much more effective. The Chinese will use the bank to actually help countries and thereby make friends and grow trust, whereas Washington uses its banks for domination by force.

This new bank, together with the BRICS Bank, will provide countries with escape routes from Washington’s domination.

The Evil Empire is beginning to crack. It will crack more as the Russian-Chinese alliance unfolds its potentials and when European capitals understand that hegemonic Washington has put their existence at risk in order to try to prevent Russia’s rise. The crazed American and British neocon nazis, and their dupes among the populations, comprise the greatest human threat that the world has ever known. The sooner the Evil Empire collapses, the safer the world will be.

The author is a former American government official who was involved with Ronald Reagan, not a "conspiracy theorist" (i.e. anyone who deviates from the mainstream western media) or a RT reporter, or a "Mooslim".

The American Empire is collapsing in front of our eyes.

        1. Ukraine game failing.

The American regime's game plan was this:

Put Ukraine on fire and provoke Russia in to a direct war against Ukraine > After sucking Russia in to a quagmire in Ukraine vilify Russia to the rest of Europe as a bully > Get the rest of Europe to beg for more American arms and support as a counter to Russia.

This would have weakened Russia, vilified it and cemented US dominance in Europe.

However unfortunately (for Washington DC/Langley Virginia) the Russians were too smart to fall for that trick and merely let the Donbass Russians fight (though supplied with Russian weaponry and commanders).

The Europeans particularly the Germans know the Americans want to destabilize Europe (there are already around 1 million refugees from Ukraine, in white Christian Europe) and set it on fire, whilst the US watches safely separated by the Atlantic Ocean.

        However this is not working.

        2. Britain tells America to get lost.

Britain has recently joined the new Chinese created AIIB.

America was powerless to stop that.

The fact that Britain long derided as an obsequious poodle of America has done that, yes even Britain shows how much power the USA has lost.

        3. The sanctions on Russia are actually weakening American hegemony rather than strengthening it.

Russia and China are working to produce their own local versions of major products that they would have bought from Europe or the west.

        - Russian-Chinese air bus.

        - Russia-Chinese intel processors

        - Russian-Chinese key electronic components.

        ...and much more.

The sanctions have accelerated the rate at which the Russians are (permanently) de-Europeanizing in terms of product purchasing and are making the same products by themselves.

Europe has been weakened by this.

Russia has the industrial and knowledge capacity to do this especially considering a few decades ago they sent satellites to Venus in 1967.

1967 before the invention of the modern computer, modern internet, smartphone or before the Americans sent probes to Mars.

        PREDICTIONS:

        - Expect fighting to kick off in eastern Ukraine again with the Novorussians capturing more land and probably the strategic port of Maripoul.

        - Ukraine is now a failed project and even the bankrupt EU won't be able to prop it up.

Germany and France (mainland continental European powers unlike Britain) know what the US game is in Ukraine i.e. set it on fire and let Europe/Russia burn.

They will be trying to make sure that Ukraine does not collapse too much.

        Russia has won in Ukraine.

          1. I have never watched a single programme of Russia Today in my life. At the most several Youtube videos by them.
Ok, but much what you post here sound like it comes direct from the Kremlin. Russians are liars and hypocrites who want to brainwash many people with their cheap propaganda so please be careful when you get information from a Russian source.

          2. A lot of what you said is not correct.

Crimea is not "Muslim land", it is majority almost 90% Christian and most of these are Russians.

It is like a Mongolian nationalist calling Afghanistan Mongolian land because of the 10-15% Hazara population there.
Unlike Hazaras in Afghanistan Tatars lived much earlier in Crimea than Slavs and it is today only a "christian region" because Tatars were deported, killed and genocided by Russian Invaders. So imagine if Americans killed allmost all Iraqis and settled americans in Iraq, is Iraq than an american land??? Russians in Crimea are like Hazaras in Bamiyan. As a "muslim" you should show more empathy for the discriminated and persecuted Tatars there.

          3. The Russian army is very strong.

There is simply no question about that.

No almost nobody in Crimea had any interest in joining Russia and the party in Crimea who supported a reunification with Russia got less than 5% in the last elections. Ukrainian army is just crap and the Ukrainian soldiers in Crimea were absolutely surprised by the Russian Invasion so that they did not fought back. Even afghan army could conquer Crimea during this time like Russians because Ukrainians just not fought back. They feared the Russian reaction and a full scaled Russian invasion if they fought back.
          The Americans were defeated in:

Lol, Did you forgot that Russians were in much more wars defeated and humilated ?. When Russians lost a war they had gigantic casualties compared to Americans and Cuba and Libanon were not really wars fought by America. So they dont count as defeat.

          - Crimean War
          - Russian- Japanese War
          - 1. Worldwar
          - Winter War
          - Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan

          - 1. Chechen War
          - .....

However I think you have a deep hatred of Russians because you may be a Pashtun from Afghanistan who hates the modern Russian Federation because of what the USSR did in 1979.
Yes i hate them also because of that and consider them as ****. They are useless people without any culture, morale values and honour. You just love Russians because you know nothing about Russians. Did you actually ever met a Russian or spent even some time there? Russia is a **** hole and some areas in Afghanistan are almost more developed than many areas in the Russian countryside.

However ethnic Russians have been mistreated in the Baltic Republics where to an extent they are second class citizens.

Sorry but you are again brainwashed by cheap kremlin propaganda. Nobody in the Baltic States or Ukraine is discriminating Russians and especially in bilingual Ukraine Russians are very well treated. Sorry but you really annoy me when you talk such rubbish about Ukrainian fascist and ignore that Russians are very racist and that Russia is a absolutely fascist state today

One Russian blogger has identified seven such characteristics of fascism and then considered whether Germany under Hitler, the Soviet Union under Stalin and Brezhnev, the Russian Federation under Vladimir Putin, or Ukraine share them. Staunton, May 8 – Fascism is one of the most negative terms in any language and it is often employed as the ultimate expression of one’s hatred or disapproval of something, but fascism has some real characteristics. Consequently, it is possible to list them and the evaluate whether this or that leader or this or […]

One of the insurgent leaders of the [so-called] ‘LNR’ [Luhansk People’s Republic] Alexey Mozgovoi, who recently survived an assassination attempt, admitted that there is no fascism in Ukraine.

          • 1. Wtf?!!

Calling me a "Muslim" in speech marks?!!

First of all I am a proud Muslim and in fact started a thread for the Crimean Tatars where I in fact highlighted the suffering of Tatars.

            Proof: http://www.pashtunforums.com/showthread.php?t=42496

            You yourself posted on that.

You did not start the thread, I did.

You did not post articles, images and Youtube videos on the plight of Tatars there, I did.

The fact that I am not an ignorant Mahmood Al-Yemeni (Revulsion Through Ranting a.k.a Brown Skinned Savage) type who sees things in black and white seems to annoy you.

There is no one else on this forum who has posted news about the Muslim world and Muslim communities as much as me including content on:

            - Bosnia
            - Kosovo
            - Sandzak
            - Dagestan
            - Tatarstan
            - Bulgarian Muslims
            - Rohingya
            - Central Africa
            - supression of Islam in Angola

            I could carry on.

In fact Toramana in the past a few years ago said I had a clouded view of things due to a pro-Muslim attitude.

"Islamist" trolls like Shamlawar Khurasani, Randolph85, Unknownprince (now back as Insight), Dagerwal, RetardationThroughUnreason (Mahmood Al-Yemeni a.k.a "Brown Skinned Savage") Kais and others have done nothing in comparison to the efforts I have spent on covering Muslim issues in this forum, rather these trolls have targeted me personally, insulting me and abusing me, even starting threads trying to denigrate my country, insulting my family etc.

There is a reason why most of these trolls have left this forum they are incapable of intelligent discussion and are not fact-based but ideology-emotion based and are embarrassed and exposed when others use things alien to them that most of us normal people call "facts" and "reality".

            2. Russians are normal human beings like anyone else.

I have met plenty of Russians (we even have one on this forum who is now in Iraq).

Here are the Russians I have met, people will be shocked and may find it hard to believe all this:

            - Russian from Moscow
            - Russian from St Petersburg
            - Tatar, Chechens, Bashkirs, Dagestanis
            - Russian from Krasnodar
            - Russian from Ekaterinburg
            - Yakut
            - Kamlyk
            - Russian from Samara

I don't speak the language (ne panamoya ruski) and have no great interest in it.

They are not better or any worse than any other nationality.

I have met Russians who were as*holes and some who were good people, like anyone else.

            3. The fact is Russia is the largest land state in the world and they won the second world war by defeating Hitler. They defeated Napoleon.

They conquered Siberia, central Asian Khanates, the Baltic states, the Caucasus, the sheer size of their empire/state is a rebuttal to the mention of some of their defeats.

I am not going to even bother discussing their military prowess.

            The Russian army is tough.

            It is massive.

It has huge firepower including its nuclear arsenal that can wipe out the world.

If you want to believe their military is "weak" or "can do nothing", then I don't know what to say.

            4. The Russians are the majority ethnic group in Crimea and always wanted close ties with Russia if not actual re-unification.

Please go on facebook and see how many ethnic Russians from Crimea living abroad are calling for an end to Russian rule?

            Basically 0.

Everyone even Russophobes knows that Crimea is a pro-Russian area.

To deny this is - just to deny Russia's military strength - sheer delusion.

            IrishTimes:

But for Turchanyenko and probably a majority of Crimea’s 2.4 million people, Putin made a heroic decision last year that delivered them from crisis-ridden Ukraine to a Russia they regard as their spiritual and historical home.

            5. Crimea is not "Muslim land" in the way southern Spain is not Muslim land. Yes in the past there was Muslim rule just as in Muslim Andalus but now the majority of the people in Crimea, around 90% are Christians.

If you want to call a land with 90% Christians, "Muslim land" then I don't know what to say, this is just absolute nonsense.

            6. I do not support Russia in everything.

On the Kosovo and Bosnian issues I support the Bosnians and Kosovo Muslims contrary to the pro-Serbia position of Russia.

However overall America is an aggressive state which carries out military, economic and political terrorism and is destabilizing the entire world.

Russia by contrast is no way as aggressive, nor is China and they are the only entities right now that are capable of acting as a counter to global American hegemony and the attendant terrorism, misery and suffery that comes with that.

Anyway I am not going to waste my time responding to your posts anymore as they are nonsensical and delusional and fueled by some sort of deep-rooted emotional hatred for Russia and Russians.

You need to get over your toxic hatred of Russians. They are normal people, some good, some bad, no better, no worse.

This hatred of Russia is unhealthy.

Calling them "liars", "hypocrites", "alcoholics" for a nation of over 150 million people?

This hatred is very unhealthy and will lead you to becoming another Mahmood al-Yemeni (Revulsion Through Ranting a.k.a. • An article by Robert Parry (doesn't sound very Russian).

Crimeans Keep Saying No to Ukraine

              March 22, 2015

Exclusive: In a rare moment of honesty, a Western news outlet, Forbes, admits that the people of Crimea expressed their legitimate will in last year’s referendum when they voted to abandon Ukraine and rejoin Russia, an inconvenient truth for the U.S. State Department and press corps, writes Robert Parry.

              By Robert Parry

A central piece of the West’s false narrative on the Ukraine crisis has been that Russian President Vladimir Putin “invaded” Crimea and then staged a “sham” referendum purporting to show 96 percent support for leaving Ukraine and rejoining Russia. More recently, Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland claimed that Putin has subjected Crimea to a “reign of terror.”

Both elements have been part of the “group think” that dominates U.S. political and media circles, but this propagandistic storyline simply isn’t true, especially the part about the Crimeans being subjugated by Russia.

Consistently, over the past year, polls conducted by major Western firms have revealed that the people of Crimea by overwhelming numbers prefer being part of Russia over Ukraine, an embarrassing reality that Forbes business magazine has now acknowledged.

An article by Kenneth Rapoza, a Forbes specialist on developing markets, cited these polls as showing that the Crimeans do not want the United States and the European Union to force them back into an unhappy marriage with Ukraine. “The Crimeans are happy right where they are” with Russia, Rapoza wrote.

“One year after the annexation of the Ukrainian peninsula in the Black Sea, poll after poll shows that the locals there — be they Ukrainians, ethnic Russians or Tartars are all in agreement: life with Russia is better than life with Ukraine,” he wrote, adding that “the bulk of humanity living on the Black Sea peninsula believe the referendum to secede from Ukraine was legit.”

Rapoza noted that a June 2014 Gallup poll, which was sponsored by the U.S. government’s Broadcasting Board of Governors, found that 82.8 percent of Crimeans said the March 16 referendum on secession reflected the views of the Crimean people. In the poll, when asked if joining Russia would improve their lives, 73.9 percent said yes and only 5.5 percent said no.

A February 2015 poll by German polling firm GfK found similar results. When Crimeans were asked “do you endorse Russia’s annexation of Crimea,” 93 percent gave a positive response, with 82 percent saying, “yes, definitely.” Only 2 percent said no, with the remainder unsure or not answering.

In other words, the West’s insistence that Russia must return Crimea to Ukraine would mean violating the age-old U.S. principle of a people’s right of self-determination. It would force the largely ethnic Russian population of Crimea to submit to a Ukrainian government that many Crimeans view as illegitimate, the result of a violent U.S.-backed coup on Feb. 22, 2014, that ousted elected President Viktor Yanukovych.

The coup touched off a brutal civil war in which the right-wing regime in Kiev dispatched neo-Nazi and other extremist militias to spearhead a fierce “anti-terrorism operation” against resistance from the ethnic Russian population in the east, which – like Crimea – had supported Yanukovych. More than 6,000 Ukrainians, most of them ethnic Russians, have been killed in the fighting.

Despite this reality, the mainstream U.S. news media has misreported the crisis and distorted the facts to conform to U.S. State Department propaganda. Thus, many Americans believe the false narrative about Russian troops crushing the popular will of the Crimean people, much as the U.S. public was misled about the Iraq situation in 2002-03 by many of the same news outlets.

Or, as Forbes’ Rapoza put it: “At some point, the West will have to recognize Crimea’s right to self rule. Unless we are all to believe that the locals polled by Gallup and GfK were done so with FSB bogey men standing by with guns in their hands.” The FSB is a Russian intelligence agency.

The GfK survey also found that Crimeans considered the Ukrainian media, which has been wildly anti-Russian, unreliable. Only 1 percent said the Ukrainian media “provides entirely truthful information” and only 4 percent said it was “more often truthful than deceitful.”

So, the people at the frontline of this conflict, where Assistant Secretary Nuland, detected a “reign of terror,” say they are not only satisfied with being restored to Russia, which controlled Crimea since the 1700s, but don’t trust the distorted version of events that they see on Ukrainian TV.

Exclusive: In a rare moment of honesty, a Western news outlet, Forbes, admits that the people of Crimea expressed their legitimate will in last year’s referendum when they voted to abandon Ukraine and rejoin Russia, an inconvenient truth for the U.S. State Department and press corps, writes Ro

Even western sources admit the Crimeans are happy to be re-unified with Russia which they were a part of until a few decades back.

However anyone who rejects the officially sponsored mainstream western media narrative of events is labelled a "conspiracy theorist".

Whereas the western media are all-truthful, all-knowing and cannot be questioned.

                      • Youtube video by Sheikh Imran Hosein on the Crimean Tatars: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kC6ocsqK480

At 9.07 he says the Majlis (parliament/assembly) of the Crimean Tatars have decided it is better to work with Russia rather than to confront her.

                        Sheikh Imran Hosein.

I don't believe in some of the ideas that Hosein has theologically but I am merely quoting a statement of his last year.

URGENT MESSAGE TO THE TATAR MUSLIMS RESIDENT IN CRIMEA

                        Articles - Islam and Politics
                        Thursday, 11 Jamadil Awal 1435

Assalaamu ‘alaikum to you all, my Tatar brothers and sisters in Islam there in Crimea!

I write to you to advise you that your most critical moment in history has arrived.

The Bolshevic revolution of 1917, which delivered communism and the ruthless Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), was planned and executed by Russian Zionist Jews who belonged to Gog and Magog.

When Stalin ordered in 1944 your unjust deportation out of your ancestral Crimean homeland to Siberia and elsewhere, it was Gog and Magog who were responsible for that ethnic genocide – and not the Russian people.

Russia is Rūm of the Qur’an, mentioned in Suratu Rūm. The Russian Orthodox Church also suffered tremendously from the ruthless USSR.

Since the collapse of communism and of the USSR, and since your return to Crimea, you have faced serious difficulties in recovering your ancestral properties which were left behind when you were deported by Stalin.

You now have an opportunity of a lifetime. This opportunity will not recur. You will have an opportunity this Sunday to vote in a referendum for Crimean union with Russia. I urge you to vote in favor of that union with Russia. If you do so, it is most likely that Russia and the Russian government, who are now returning to Orthodox Christianity (i.e., Rūm of the Qur’an), would respond positively and gratefully to ensure that you recover your ancestral properties and that you continue to reside in Crimea with the freedom and rights that Muslims need in order to be faithful to Allah and His Messenger (sallalahu ‘alaihi wa sallam).

Prophet Muhammad (sallalahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) prophesied that Muslims will make an alliance with Rūm in Akhir al-Zamān, and it appears to me that Tatar Muslims now have a historic role to play in the fulfillment of that prophesy.

                        With love,

                        Your brother,

                        Imran N. Hosein

By the way the opinions I carry are not based on RT or from Imran Hosein but from other a mixture of other sources.

My main purpose in posting this is to show that supporting Crimean Tatars not waging war and living peacefully within the multi-ethnic, multi-religious Russian Federation is better than waging war (for the benefit of NATO) and living under Ukraine.

Both Ukraine and Russia are non-Muslim states.

An individual earlier on in this thread called Crimea "Muslim land" (nonsense it is almost 90% Christian) so what does he want the Tatars to do?

To start a war and lose their homes and families whilst he lives in comfort in the west?

Does he want to label all those who oppose this as "anti-Muslim?

This sort of nonsense has led to the tragedy of Syria.

                        • In some years when Russia collaps because of low birth rates, failed economy, moral degeneration and sanctions, we can reclaim Scythia/Saka and repopulate the russian steppe with neo-scythian Pashtuns from our overpopulated Afghanistan and by Pakistan occupied Pashtun territories.. The Tatars, Chechens and with us sympathizing Russians will get there own tribes in our confederation of Neo-Saka and we will graze our horses in the Eurasian steppes like our ancestor 3000 years ago.

                          • Idlib in Syria falls to rebel hands due to massive Turkish support.

A few days later, the whole of Turkey has a power blackout & a terrorist attack on a court.

Maybe Iranian or Russian (probably the latter) payback for the fall of Idlib and a warning to Turkey.

As I said Syria is a red line for Russia and its fall will not be permitted or there will be nuclear war, Syria is to Russia what its neighbour Israel has been to the US for decades.

Turkey power cut: Prime Minister says nationwide blackout could be caused by terrorists

Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu said he cannot rule out terrorism
                            LUCY CLARKE-BILLINGS Tuesday 31 March 2015

A nationwide blackout across Turkey has thrown the country into chaos.

Power outages have been reported in dozens of cities throughout the country due to a fault on power transmission lines, according to Turkey's Electricity Transmission Company TEİAŞ's statement.

Prime minister Ahmet Davutoğlu said that a crisis-desk at the Ministry of Energy has been established.

He added: "We're considering all probabilities behind nationwide power outage, including terrorism."

Energy minister Taner Yıldız said that the fault was restored in some provinces as of midday.

Due to the allegations that the fault was a cyber attack, Mr Yıldız said: "We cannot confirm whether power outage was a cyber or terrorist attack."

Istanbul's metro, tram and Marmaray services have come to a halt due to the blackout.

Twitter user @metesohtaoglu posted this picture of the metro Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality announced on Twitter that metro and tram services, along with Marmaray, had stopped due to the power outage. All passengers were successfully evacuated from metro lines.

Traffic lights are also out of service in Istanbul, causing traffic jam in central neighborhoods.

Around 25 cities reported a power outage including Ankara, İzmir, Antalya and Adana.

There have been reports of power outages in various shopping centres.

Turkey is currently experiencing electricity outages in many regions due to transmission line problems which occurred at 10.3am, Turkish Electricity Transmission Company, TEİAŞ officials said.

In the western province of Kocaeli, one of the industrial centers of Turkey, several factories stopped production in the morning as most of the province was affected by the blackout.

Local reports of a "huge explosion" in Kocaeli have not been confirmed.

The blackout is reportedly affecting flights across the country Italian photojournalist Piero Castellano, who is living in Ankara, Turkey, said: “I’m currently trying to direct my friends to shops where they could buy solar chargers.

“There has been no explanation yet. I’ve seen online that the blackout spans 24 regions.

“The Istanbul metro, tramway and sub-Bosphorus Marmaray rail line are all down."

                            - If this was a mechanical issue it would have an impact on a particular city or local area and not beyond, however for it to impact the entire country almost certainly means it was a software issue.

If it was a software issue it could be malfunction (unlikely and probably even more embarassing than if it was cyber-terrorism) but more likely it was hacking, cyber-terrorism.

Who would and could possibly want to do that?

Maybe the same country and alliance which lost Idlib a few days ago?

                            - Also why did the mainly Alevi (Assad's family are Alevis or "Alawi") DHKP-C carry out a terrorist attack today against a prosecutor with the whole of Turkey in shock?

A militant from the mainly Alevi DHKP-C takes a Turkish prosecutor hostage.

DHKP-C militants in Istanbul in a picture from the past.

Turkish commandos outside the building to storm it.

By the way if anyone dismisses the idea that the Russian, Iranian and Syrian regimes would do such a thing, remember they are not angels and are quite ruthless.

This might be a Russian-Iranian revenge for the fall of Idlib and a warning to Turkey what will happen if they think of carrying on such things in Syria.

Syria is a red line for Russia, China and Iran.

                            • I don't condone hacking and have called this an act of "cyber-terrorism".

If anyone thinks politics is a clean business and politicians are angels they are wrong.

Politics is a very dirty business.

The USA, Russia, China, Turkey, Iran, Syria are all involved in shameful acts.

However the USA is by far the worst of them all in terms of the damage its done.

Anyway going back to what looks like a dual synchronised cyber-attack and court attack on the same day here is the significance.

                              1. Turkey was paralyzed, the entire country.

It was bought to its knees.

                              2. If there was a war or a Turkish invasion of Syria then the Russian-Iranian-Syrian (let's say R-I-S) alliance could do this and Turkey would be unable to fight.

Turkish planes, command centres, radars everything needs electricity to function.

In other words Turkey would not be physically capable of a war against Syria.

                              3. As I've said before in this forum the Iranians-Syrians are said to have established links with the mainly Alevi Turkish left. The radical Turkish left is dominated by Alevis who are a heterodox type of Shia.

While they don't care about religion they do like socialism e.g. Assad's pan-Arab socialism and dislike Sunni nationalism e.g. the AKP.

The fact that the mainly Alevi DHKP-C took the courthouse today on the same day of the electricity blackout might have been done to send a message not only to the Ankara government but a subtle telegraphed message/hint to Turks and the rest of the world that the blackout was "No accident" i.e. back off from Syria.

                              4. This may also have been done as a warning to Saudi Arabia that if this can happen to a far more militarily and technologically advanced Turkey, who else can it be done to.

As I said politics is a very dirty business and most here will probably be surprised at what I'm saying and be dismissive of it, thinking that Iran and Syria would never do such a thing, or nor would Russia.

                              Putin is ex-KGB!

                              • MASSIVE BLACKOUT BRINGS TURKEY TO A STANDSTILL: IRAN CYBER ATTACK?

Turkey is in the process of recovering from a major blackout that has brought the country to a relative standstill. Almost the entire country has been affected by the massive power cut, according to some media reports out of Turkey. Officials are considering the possibility that they were hit by a major cyber attack directed at its critical infrastructure.

The Turkish government is currently presenting the blackout as a technical issue, but some suspect that a state sponsor may have authorized a massive cyber attack against Ankara’s electric grid and other aspects of its critical infrastructure.

Turkish officials told Hurriyet news that the issue stems from a technical problem with the computer system of the Turkish Electricity Conduction Company, which is responsible for controlling the power lines.

“Every possibility including a terrorist attack is being investigated,” Prime MInister Ahmet Davutoglu told reporters on Tuesday.

Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz added that officials were investigating whether the power outage was a result of a cyber attack. “I also cannot say whether or not there was a cyber-attack. The most important this for us is to bring the system back to life. This is not something we frequently experience,” said the energy minister.

If officials do determine that Turkey was hit by a major cyber attack, Iran will likely be seen as a prime suspect.

The blackout comes as tensions have increasingly risen between Iran and Turkey over the past few weeks. Although determining attribution from a cyber attack takes time, some news outlets are reporting that authorities are highly suspicious that Iran has backed the attack.

“Iran is trying to chase [the Islamic State] from the region only to take its place,” Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan recently said in condemning the Shiite regime. The Turkish president also ripped into Iran for aiding “terrorist groups” in taking over Yemen. The remarks reportedly infuriated Iranian government officials, who on Monday demanded an apology from Turkey. Some even proposed that they cancel his upcoming visit to Tehran on April 7.

The two countries have also had a major falling out in diplomatic relations due to the Syrian civil war. While Iran is a staunch supporter of the Assad regime, Turkey fiercely opposes Assad’s grip on Syria. The countries also find themselves at opposite ends over the current conflict in Yemen.

Iran has dedicated major resources towards expanding its cyberwarfare capabilities over the past few years.

Some have speculated that Iran has become a tier-1 cyber threat, on par with the likes of China and Russia. “Iran was once considered a D-grade cyber threat. Now it’s almost on the same level as Russia or China,” a cybersecurity expert told Business Insider last week.

Iran has also shown that it has the capacity to breach the United States’ critical infrastructure network, according to a December report by a cybersecurity firm. The report recognized that Iran had infiltrated the U.S. water, gas, and transit systems, while also successfully breaching airport security networks.

In February, Iran’s Ayatollah Khamenei said in an address to his military cyber units, “You are the cyber-war agents… get yourselves ready for such war wholeheartedly.”

                                Some facts:

                                1. The problem was not a mechanical problem or pipeline, it was a software problem i.e. most likely hacking.

                                2. The Turkish government itself has said this may be an act of cyber-terrorism.

                                3. Now if it was cyber-warfare there are two possibilities:

a: non-state actors, e.g. terrorist groups, political organizations.

                                b: state actors

If it's a non-state actor then how on earth does a single non-state organization acquire the resources, expertise and ability to disable the power system of an entire country?

Also who would want to do this.

We have to look at Turkey's opponents/enemies.

i: PKK, doubtful as they want to secure a peace deal with the Erdogan regime.

ii: DHKP-C, (Alevi communists), doubtful they have the ability to do so though they did take a prosecutor hostage today with the kidnappers and the prosecutor being killed by commandos in the rescue operation.

                                iii: Syria-Iran-Russia axis.

Most likely them as Idlib fell a few days back, with now two regions of Syria under militant control.

The fall of Idlib was an operation directed by the Turks who organized this and provided the militants with support and resources.

Link: Turks backed takeover of Idlib by militants.

So logically we can conclude that there is a very high chance that the R.I.S axis (Russia-Iran-Syria) axis carried this out as revenge for the fall of Idlib and a warning to Turkey.
