As for this topic is concerned, I for once support this plan. If I have to judge this per my own point of view, Rehman Mallik made this statement either because A; He wants to save/retrieve his image in the eyes of those people who trust Zulfiqar Mirza's accusations against Rehman Mallik. Or because B; The current Western aid to the government of Pakistan isn't enough.
If he is doing this to save the little bit of respect left for him, then after the borders are sealed and the troubles still exist in Pakistan, he will have a lot to answer his nation, such as: Why the MQM-ANP conflicts still exists. Why target killing still exists. Why Baloch movements still exists. And why Pakhtunkhwa is still being bombed. The biggest problem today in Pakistan, according to an average Pakistani himself, is ethnic tension in Karachi; I can't remember any Afghan being involved there? Another problem is drone attacks by NATO in Tribal Pakistan which happens through air, so what's the benefit of blocking ground entrances? Baloch movements exist because of the injustice they face in the country by its government, not because they get 'shelter' in Afghanistan.
But, if this has been done for more aid (my first guess), then the faces of the politicians will be absolutely mind-boggling to see when their 'proposal' will be rejected by the US. For the politicians the aid rejection will be the first loss, no more NATO export another loss, plus less corporation with the Americans in 'war against terrorism' another one. Now bare the loss. Whenever we hear of this plan being cancelled then be assured my friends, USA agreed to triple the aid.
And as for the Islamic card Admin was speaking of, it's not about who refuses the claim and who doesn't. An average Pakistani (as well as history) claims that Pakistan was made on basis of Islam. Zia Ul Haq encouraged the Mujahideen in fighting their own government for that very reason, Islam. It's another thing that Dollars speak louder than a few pathetic Islamic brotherhood speeches by a pathetic politician. For that very same Islam Afghan refugees were, so-called, let in the country. It's another thing that the government received billions of Dollars for the refugees, and now when keeping the refugees resulted in more 'loss' than the actual aid, the fake-ism of Islamic brotherhood is gone from the hearts of the politicians as well.
I say, let this happen. Let the Pakistani government for the first in their life do something they have never done before; Follow their own orders. At least we will find out who will truly save how many lives, and how much of the disruption on both sides actually vanishes. Oss de Amrika ya Iran zde wochwi ya na, de Pakistan de hokumat zde aw sar dwara ba sel feesad wochwi.
